Congrats on buying and flying the mini! Good to see it again. My Dad and myself rebuilt it to its present look, back in the late 80's. It was a lot of fun. I owned a Hatz, dad had the smith and my uncle had a baby lakes. Thanks for the video! My son, now the next gen taildragger pilot found the video.
Still looks good. I know it went to Chattanoga Tn. to Corky Coker’s museum. I bought this plane and flew it for a year or so in the late 80’s or early 90’s. I bought it at a grass strip (Wynkoop Airfield)) in Ohio. Bought it from Butch Harvey’s dad.
She is now hanging in Mr Coker Corky’s automobile museum in Chattanooga, TN - what a pity - she should still be flying - that is what she was designed and built to do - C’mon Mr Corky - let me buy her and put some air over and height under her wings and take her back into the skies again ??
And yes, I do have an “In Progress” Smith Mini Project and would appreciate any info/specs/measurements fir that landing gear = looks perfect for her 👍
It should have made him nervous and he would have handled it different....They taught us to act like the prop was hot at all times back in the 50's....
Probably watched this 100 times since I'm building a Smith Miniplane 👍

I can see how it sold, its a beautiful Smith!!!!
I sure wish he would handle that prop with more respect....
I’m curious…what kind of landing gear is installed? Looks amazing!

I think these DSA-1 are getting rare now. this one seems to have a modified tail.
Congratulation on your project. I know it was a work of passion, sweat and tears. About how long did it take to complete?
very nice airplane; why no starter? propping makes me nervous

What did this sell for?
You should never ask....It is one's personal business....
