This track brings back so many awesome memories of my time in New York in the mid 80’s & early 90’s. Club USA, The Tunnel, Danceteria, Lee Bowery , Jenny Tailia,, Meredith Basinger, Trash & Vaudeville, Ginger Lemonade & The magic & madness that only a place like New York (back in the day) could supply✨
I've been searching for this version since 95' or very much like it. wholly all that is good on this Earth....thank you. I lost my dj made cassette, as well as my friend....this tune embodies a time, place and wonderful memory. yes. I do remember then.....better than yesterday....
z Kat Oh babe I am sorry that in finding this tune you lost your DJ friend. My heart goes out to you.My friend did this bootleg/remix and I remember him coming to see me and gave me a copy of this red vinyl. He did quite a few ace legal and illegal, sometimes damn cheeky totally illegal bootys. If I told you his biggest track it would be snitching and I just don't get down like that . Laters Kitty.
The friend wasn't the DJ, but painful to lose him. I searched for him for years...but he must have fallen off of the planet.... I miss him still...often think of him. I still have the random solo dance parties in my living room...can't do all the things I used to without feeling it in the morning...but a good time. Those memories are the best....it was a very good time of life. Making some fun memories again...different way... Cheers to you Mate!
I remember the Generator. They had a log like in a Star Trek Motion Picture font. Great club. I have a copy of this (vinyl)... it was referred to sometimes as "The Hawaiian House Mix" =M=
Came across this remix and it brought me back to the club days back in the early (90s ) NYC .. sound factory .. wow ... this would come on at peak dance time 6 am and the dance floor was on fire !!!
Very few songs are so profound and can be also so beautiful at the same time. I can listen to this every second of the day and it will conjure emotions so deep that I didn't know I had... Thanks so for such an incredible remix... Sade your are the real Diva of our era. Only you can make me cry tears of sorrow and dance happy at the same time - Amazing. God Bless you always!
I had this on vinyl and was by far my favorite record. I remember the first time hearing this out and I was amazed at how awesome it was. Tough to get record but I got my copy only to be stolen in Hawaii of all places lol. Thanks for posting
To be clear this is the ORIGINAL Philip Damien version bootleg. It became such a success in the underground that they released an official version under the same name but it does not have the same essence/vibe of this epic version that became a club anthem in the mid 90's.
I've heard this version referred to as "The Hawaiian House Mix..." but forgot who the remixer was. Are you 100% sure on this (his name) and how do you know? =M=
Working the make shift runway at Webster Hall and Tunnel in NYC, the best time of my life, 1994!!!! The paradox is this is a song about the human condition of despondency and suffering due to poverty. #Sade #FireceAndFearless
They wore this out on B96 in Chicago...and knew it was an illegal version! Still sounded good as hell!! Sony could have easily taken it and published it. Tjis would have made mad money!!
B96 probably played an editted version of this. They would never play an 8 minute song. They did play some rare mixes... They also played the dance remix (short version) of Annie Lennox "walking on broken glass"... that's how I managed to get a copy from the station producer - sent me a damn cd copy of it. Chicagoans are so normal. Great memories. #Chitown #GenX =M=
Recuerdo cuando compraba vinilo discos casual fue escuché a dj en récords store y pregunte si podria conseguirlo me lo regaló estea version nunca salio a venta fue un white lebel
oh the sweet sound of house music, how it heals

‘98 ATL Traxxx dance floor after a Long Island Iced tea. Then this comes on. Heavenly nostalgia. 😌
