    Description
While working with patients suffering from chronic pain, I discovered that--in order to help them make sense of the unfamiliar, often counterintuitive change process inherent in SFBT-- whiteboarding my process, visually, and breaking it down step-by-step enabled my clients to understand the value of what we were trying to do, keep their focus on where they wanted to go, and stay the course when things got rough. That's how I first developed the Spiral Model of Solution-Focused Change (SMSFC), which I distilled from both my own experience and the teachings of other SF practitioners. The session will introduce the model, walk through the 8 basic processes, as I see them, and invite attendees to modify, critique, enhance, and consider how they might apply this new visual model to their own lives and work.
