Yeah, there's a lot of corrupt practices there in Nigeria, but this incident involving you (unintentionally!) FIGHTING in the market could happen to even Nigerians.
It didn't happen because you're a foreign. At the market, no one knew you were a foreigner. Nigeria is a large and multi-ethnic, multilingual, and diverse country, where people speak English with different accents.
The problem was that, You Got into a Fight in a market, in Lagos (I guess!). You could have been mistaken for a Nigerian from the South East, until you disclosed your identity.
I remember that you travelled to Ibadan, Nigeria, with Sabbatical (Your Irish-american friend), and some men in a village you visited, thought you were an Igbo girl from the South East. They even advised you and Sabbatical not to go to certain areas because it was unsafe. Remember?
If not, go and watch that video. And who knows, your DNA might show some Igbo genes. The Luo people have been revealed to bear some Igbo genes. Are you Luo?
Lastly, I believe you know that Nigerians PROTECT FOREIGNERS in their community. And the internet is replete with videos of FOREIGNERS recording content in the markets, towns, villages and cities in Nigeria, without any problem.

Watch her videos when she was in Nigeria years back, nobody assaulted her, nobody said anything bad to her, you cannot tell me that our culture changed overnight. We have foreigners living in Nigeria and they all talk about how Nigerians are hospitable, so her story is still shrouded in mystery.
