    Hey Paul, I think you’ve done very well in trying to manage all the options within DigiStix 2.. There’s so much going on.. the new layout is much easier + quicker to get around once you know where to look.. 👍
    The layer velocities - sample delay trick is pretty cool..
    The addition of the delay + reverb sends in the controller section will come in handy..

    Insane plugins and DS2 is a beast like the rest of them! How could one man pull off 50+ top shelf plugins? No idea.
    That said, I’m having issue hearing multi-layers:
    I import hat1 to pad1 layer1, then hat2 to pad1 layer2. I see both wavs in the window. Settings are all default. Can only hear layer1 hat1. 🤷🏻‍♂️
    Also, I used to be able to import a long wav of drum hits to pad1, slice them to pads (let’s say 32) across A/B, then import on C , pad1, a new long wav of hits, and slice (it would ask where to - I would select C) and it would spread them across C/D. But recently, it doesn’t prompt where to slice second wav and they end up overwriting those on A/B. Thoughts? Thanks!!

    • @RapBeatRepository
      @RapBeatRepository Месяц назад

      Oh, and I could only get layer2 to display a wav if I import (ex. IPhone File app). If I choose Assign from Kit (reference) it doesn’t prompt to choose layer and just overwrites layer1 with the second wav

    • @RapBeatRepository
      @RapBeatRepository Месяц назад

      Same behavior in standalone.
      Also, on Layer Tuning page the Preview button plays the wav on later2. So it’s just a matter of how to get them playing together 🤔

    thanks for the improvements! But one thing from Digistix 1 I miss strongly: there is not any more the capability to make a direct recording from other audio apps. The new version allows only direct recording from the microphone. Why this deterioration?

    • @PaultheMusicMan
      @PaultheMusicMan  11 месяцев назад

      If this were true then how would I have been able to record all the GM instruments that are new to DigiStix 2? If you run AUM and place DS2 in an effect slot, it records what passes through it using its in-built recorded or Auto Sampler. I'm sure whatever host you are using is the problem, as long as DS2 is loaded as an effect (as with DS1) and a suitable audio source is routed through the app, it will record. I just checked it out now in AUM for peace of mind.

      you are right! I tried to use DS 2 as standalone for this purpose. The standalone version from DS 1 had in the very bottom an arrow to connect to other apps, which is missing in DS 2. Putting DS 2 in an effect slot in AUM solves the problem. Thanks for the fast reply, and sorry for not finding this way by myself. Excellent answer 😊.. Excellent app! Send you 5 stars! 👍👍👍👍👍.

    A quick question:
    When creating a custom kit in Digistix 2 and exporting clips to Helium media bay, will the custom bank names be available in Helium to easily edit / make changes to the midi data? This is after selecting Grid Layout then Digistix. Will the currently loaded kit in Digistix be recognized?

    • @PaultheMusicMan
      @PaultheMusicMan  3 года назад

      It is not possible to import multi-channel MIDI files as it relies on patterns not linear music with arbitary tempo's and time divisions. If you want to do this it might be better importing into your DAW and playing the MIDI into DigiStix and moving the notes to play the correct pads.
