Baseball Card Boy they don't. you should never have to clean a body of water if it is a naturally functioning ecosystem. nature cleans itself. that pond is probably lined with concrete and full of geese crap. there was hardly any flow, it's no wonder there was a massive fish dieoff in the summer. the lady didn't seem to care about that.

Really well handled, Extreme Philly Fishing. Good to see that one can make their point and still be respectful, courteous, and a great example. I think a discussion such as the way you handled it lays it all out bare for people to see clearly, and it's quite obvious that they did not have an argument that held much water (no pun intended). Some very clear bias was showing through, in my opinion, and it demonstrates how some people feel privileged enough to equate their own opinion with what is legal or not. ( i.e. I don't feel like leashing my dog, so that's ok, but I don't like seeing you here fishing, so that's not ok )
A friend of mine owns a house and some property that borders a golf resort in Florida. Between the two is a pond that he owns, and the banks around it. He allows the neighborhood kids to fish there if they promise to catch and release, but the golfers are always trying to kick the kids off the property and get butt hurt when someone fishes there. I don't know what there problem is, but they can be aggressive at times. We were having a BBQ and some beer and they tried to kick him and me off his own property when we were catching some bluegill there. It was not a pretty sight.
I would get paper verification that you are allowed to fish there and go back. also, isn't them stocking a public pond through their little group illegal?
Not a bad idea, Austin. However, it is really not worth it! Not worth of the time and not worth risking ourselves in the Park with all the unleashed dogs running amok here and there. Tight lines and thanks for watching!
spent my childhood at that park... where the drain is there use to be a boat launch, since removed. i use to capture Frogs and picnic with my Grandparents.. there use to be concerts just to the left where the building is. O, and those species of fish have been there since the 60's.
I would have said, "It's a free country. What are you, a commie? This here pond is in a public park. If you pester me in any way, I'm going to call the cops. I'm fishing here until I'm god damn done."
You see this type of attitude is just plain wrong. Its an ornamental pond - no true angler fishes ornamentals. There are two main types of ponds (here in GB anyway) 1 - ornamental ponds - yeh ok there maybe fish in these but usually they are gold fish. Ornamentals are for like RC boats at best but more ducks and geese - and the likes. 2 - Commercial fisheries - these are ponds and lakes designed to be fished and in some cases and/ or boated on etc etc. The people that moaned at you are in actuality better educated than you in regards to such things - ok in the USA you lack the lingo at this time. What she should have said is - this is an ornamental pond not a fishing pond and she would have been correct. Anyone that fishes a public ornamental pond is really a bit of a douche bag, unless it was designed as a fishery - then it would wouldn't be an ornamental. Such people that fish ornamentals are actually harming the sport for everyone else as your portraying angling incorrectly and giving us a bad name. If in doubt leave it out - simple as there are many so many places you know that are fishable.

RUclips Veterinarian Its a public pond which is permitted for fishing. Its not a “goldfish pond”, as if it is defined as such. There just happens to be an invasive species (which shouldn’t be there) in that public water. Regardless of that, who the hell even cares if hypothetically there was a species indicator on lets say, a fishing website saying “Goldfish are found in this pond”. Its a species of carp. Carp are fish. Fish are fished. I don’t care if I catch a Goldfish or a Bluefin. Im going to fight that fish and probably throw it back. Subscriber Tournament Pastorius Pond
I will stopping there tomorrow and be putting rods all around the pond some with big catfish hooks just to make a point
I really don't think they care about the ecosystem saying that they haven't cleaned that lake in 17 years
Yeah, because the "natural" PA Koi population is thriving. The exotic nature preserve is the new big thing. Why preserve native species when we want aesthetic Koi and Goldfish that we can't see in this muddy cesspit. (This post is written with heaping amounts of sarcasm it should be taken as a joke)
Natural ecosystems do not need “cleaning” and they are moving the fish anyway, how natural is that?
it's admirable how you handled it! completely shut down every objection in a professional manner! Gangster
You should have called your DNR officer he/she would have fined them all for angler harassment!
I was lead to believe that law was for anglers who were fishing for consumption. For the purpose of feeding oneself or ones family.
its for anyone legally fishing or doing any sporting activity, given that they are not trespassing or breaking any laws
Good to know, thanks.
as well as introducing an invasive species in a public waterway. if this is a public park and not on private property the water belongs to the state and is legal to fish as long as not posted.
Unless given express permission. Often times around my area you'll see a public pond and they've given the locals permission to put a few goldfish in it. We actually have a nature reserve about 5km (excuse the heathen units) from my house that they let the locals put goldfish and koi in.
I would have fun with the old hags, " What you mean I no fish here? I fish here many years. I have restaurant, serve best Koi fri-rice in town, come try!"...that'll give them something to gossip about!
I love the lady breaking the law of having her dog on a leash complaining about someone legally fishing.
Come back to the pond now, I live near it and it has fountains now, they also cleaned it.
How about no I live in conshy
I find it hard to call a pond that is entirely made up of goldfish an ecosystem.
Tyler Tomkins the goldfish take the role of common carp
Pear Fishing but hardly a naturally functioning ecosystem. it might sustain native bird and mosquito populations lol
Josh Black about as natural of a system as a gold fish tank down at the county fair ring toss booth haha.
Tyler Tomkins lol exactly! The thing was lined with concrete and needs to be cleaned. No natural body of water needs to be cleaned
Tyler Tomkins
Someone organize a big group to go to this pond and fish. Like 25 people. That would be great.
call the game warden or the city and if i was you i would go back there
Yes that's exactly what I would have done aswell
I am not going to take any legal action against the residents of Chestnut Hill, _ claytown. I think this "exposure" on social media is enough for people to realize how bad the situation is up there. A lot of local folks have watched this video already, and word of mouth spreads real quickly nowadays. I am sure that a few residents there will learn with this video. Tight lines and thanks for watching!
I'd say you exposed those jerks pretty well! Sorry you had to go through all that crap..
Why are their faces censored though?
You handled it beautifully brother. Their agenda appeared to be motivated by something more than their love for the pond. You've always been a great advocate for and protector of wildlife.
Leo your professionalism during someone who was clearly fabricating a story was amazing. Living in PA and fishing many bodies of water I have seen this is more common than most would believe. In the future I would recommend reaching out to the authorities. this is harassment. The state of Pennsylvania licensed you to fish. at this location. Keep up the great work and keep being a great ambassador to us Pennsylvanians as well as to fisherman all over the world.
You showed them more respect then they deserved. You are a gentleman sir. Thanks for posting so many great videos.
its actually illegal for them to kick you out of a park owned by the city they had no right to do so. if I were you I would have called a police officer and a game warden to the scene they could have been charged with wrongful information and taking pictures of you without your permission
Nature reserve? Stocks it with invasive koi most likely from japan
Sounds racist
was thinking the same
IKR
Steady I mean all the asians i have seen around my lake eat the fish so it's a logical assumption. It's not meant to be insulting, but I've been kicked out by white people even though I'm white so I don't think it was because of race.
Steady Just because he's not white doesn't make him a victim of racism or what America just calls white racism.
nah, just i notice that when im fishing people always glance at the asian fishermen and make racist comments. people always assume that asians keep all their fish and break the law. I know its a stretch but i dont think he was doing anything wrong
You did is proud! Stood up for yourself and anglers everywhere while maintaining class and respect. This is not the only uppity neighborhood that looks down on the angler. This is why it is important that we clean up after ourselves and treat nature with the respect it deserves. Your the man!
You should have a fishing tournament there
I don't think I will ever go back to that place, Evan Warwick. And it is not even because fishing is not welcome there. During my short stay in Pastorius Park, I saw more than 10 unleashed dogs running amok. Crazy stuff. I am not risking myself getting bitten by one of them. LOL. Tight lines and thanks for watching!
Evan Warwick BAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I appreciate it, Ask Chef Tony. And I absolutely agree with your comment. Tight lines and thanks for watching!
Need to take a local subscriber fishing trip to that pond
Lol
I would get paper verification that you are allowed to fish there and go back. also, isn't them stocking a public pond through their little group illegal?
Brian Miller yeah it is. unless u have ur states dnr's permission
David Leatherman thank you and for some reason these people strike me as the kind who wouldn't get permission lol
Brian Miller absolutely and punishable by a hefty fine. someone should report them.
Exactly, also they admitted to stocking the pond with goldfish on camera.
A fishing license in a public park should be paper verification enough
Wow, it's 2016 and we're still dealing with it.:(
Lets get a boycott lets go line the banks with poles haha
Austin, yes let's do it!!!!!!!
Caden Jones my girlfriend and I are in. Let's go!
If I lived near this place, I would drop a line in there all day, every day.
Not a bad idea, Austin. However, it is really not worth it! Not worth of the time and not worth risking ourselves in the Park with all the unleashed dogs running amok here and there. Tight lines and thanks for watching!
Extreme Philly Fishing good job
spent my childhood at that park... where the drain is there use to be a boat launch, since removed. i use to capture Frogs and picnic with my Grandparents.. there use to be concerts just to the left where the building is. O, and those species of fish have been there since the 60's.
Still not native. And you are right, it is a park, public park
Super professional when you talked to the lady, that's awesome man.
I would have said, "It's a free country. What are you, a commie? This here pond is in a public park. If you pester me in any way, I'm going to call the cops. I'm fishing here until I'm god damn done."
it was impossible for me to read that in any other accent than southern
@@julien1 koi are an invasive species, and they often interfere with natural ecosystems.
It wasn't the town that put them there it was ignorant people who have no clue what they are doing
@@julien1 as EPH noted around 11:20 ornamental ponds are clearly noted with a sign so it is not some weird guessing game. If these residents were 'better educated' they would also realize that stocking ponds is illegal
@@lilchopin96 lol... we built your fucking ponds - ornamental ponds don't have to be sign posted mate, they never have - not here in Europe anyway. Its a CULTURAL architectural intellectual aesthetic presumption. Can we still make such presumptions today - probably not, but that isn't a good thing now is it ? It is an intellectually regressive position, state wise, moreover one for which the state is directly responsible. Who is at fault ? YOU ALL ARE....! Now understand this and ALL of you progress from that regressed and divisive position.
i feel a fishing flash mob is about to happen at this pond. LOL
AMA Adventures would be awesome
I'm close...call it
EPF you are a SAINT! Mad respect for the way you handled that. They would've had to call the cops on me lol.
she doesn't know what she's talking about
andrew shekon lol true
Leo, you gave those people a lot more respect than they gave you. I commend you for not losing your temper. You took the higher road.
It's a shame.. They were profiling you that is for sure.. Could care less what a kind honest person you are, just judging for obvious reasons. It's all good leo, there are plenty of other places to fish that are welcoming! Hope all is well with you and the family Leo! Happy Holidays buddy!
I appreciate your feedback on this matter, Snapper. I did feel like some residents profiled me that day. Not a good feeling for sure! And you are absolutely right, bro -- lots of places left with some nice folks around. :) Happy holidays to you as well! Tight lines and thanks for watching!
"I am doing a fish assessment" handled like a pro.
"What are those"
Oh you know just casually standing at this side of the ponds with some sticks in the ground
It looks like you did the right thing, even though you were in the right. No need to cause an unnecessary problem. I am wondering if the town actually did what the representative from FOPP stated? Was the pond cleaned up? Were fish relocated? Just curious if you know. Thanks for sharing.
I honestly hate people like that. If you couldn't fish there then there should
Be a sigh. Tha lady probably bares people fishing 🎣.
Fixed part " she probably hates people fishing there like wtf".
Dave M I just dont feel like editing it. Bruh.
AC-Roblox gggggg
Town lakes/ponds are like this,,,the rules change every 2 weeks. I don't even fish in my town lake anymore, even after buying a permit to do so... Pa & Jersey lakes and ponds are getting nuts,,,, police showing up on kids fishing, how terrible!!
*copys link and sends it to Philadelphia news in case of a slow news day*
"whats all that there, a; that stuff" like she didn't know that was fishing rods lol
i think they racially profiled you
PhillyFishing215 As much as I hate people who always bring race into everything, I was absolutely thinking the same thing.
However she could just be an arrogant person in general.
Castlehill650 definitely racial. they assumed that he was going to keep fish and even the hag laughed at it
RUclips Veterinarian Its a public pond which is permitted for fishing.
Whether or not he was racially profiled or not, she was a cunt.
RUclips Veterinarian you are so ignorant and you, just racially profiled Leo, and proved our points.
RUclips Veterinarian I would just assume he was some asian dude who likes to fish catch and release. I like to catch and release as well, and might even join him if I had a rod on me.
I really respect the way that you fish and how you react to people, especially these types, and their opinions on fishing. It was very mature of you to leave out of courtesy, while fishing there is legal. Though you could have stayed and they couldn't do anything about it, that was a great example of how you should avoid conflicts over fishing and the residents that don't agree with you.
wow that lady was starting to piss me off.
I’m so glad I’ve discovered this channel, Leo you the best 👌🏽
I think you handled it well. some people just think they own everything. they probably havent done squat for the betterment of that pond. it sounded like a load of manure that the lady was saying.
I appreciate your feedback on this matter, BfishN. Some folks in Chestnut Hill definitely believe that that park is "theirs." Pretty absurd! Tight lines and thanks for watching!
I don't know how you kept your cool...I have gone off on her...her tone is so irritating and condescending. I don't know what drives people to get involved in someone else's business. Keep up the good work!
All your subs in the area should go fish it at the same time..
Just curious is gold fish something meant to be caught? Or are they mainly for "quoi ponds" for looks? Based on the amount of likes on this video I figure it's fine but I'm interested in what people think. I'm new to fishing.
leo pep talking a goldfish lol, only him
Moving fish to another pond BUT not all of them... Ecosystem protection.. Historic...
Respect to you for entertaining that whole conversation with those spinster. You're a better person than me.
Leo , lots of old white/wasp money in Chestnut hill. .
yeah with nothing better to do, love how her first question to him was will you eat them....
Zach Swain I live about 15 minutes from there. Snobs
“Can we call the police non emergency line? Maybe they can sort this out.”
“Hello, I’d like to report several unleashed threatening dogs, and multiple cases of angler harassment.”
I'd like to see the unseen footage LOL ...and btw you handled it like a true gentleman 👍🏻
"Those fish are spoken for" lolol. Some people want to rule so bad, it doesn't matter what. Seemed like you really handled yourself well, keep it up dude!
i would've told them to go ahead and call a game warden or a police officer. I would then leave if the cop/warden tells me to.
You handled this situation well, I know a lot of other people would be much more rude about this. But you stayed calm and respectful, nice job.
It's always a sad day when you're just minding your own business fishing and somebody kicks you out. EVEN though it was on public property !!! Especially somebody like Leo who is just trying to educate his viewers. I've had people give me a rough time because they're solely against fishing. It sucks, but there's always new places to explore! Hopefully next time the "community" isn't as rude. Tight lines
It seriously sucks, Harambe. Very frustrating indeed. But it is as you say -- there are plenty of other places out there to fish at! Better places too. :) Tight lines to you as well and thanks for watching!
my buddy and I keep getting kicked out of a golf course but we keep going back when the course is closed or going on the woods side. holy crap bro huge sunfish and huge bass. I hooked a giant sunny the other day on a 6 inch sunny!
Lmao historically the fish wtf she saying
"A savage karen lvl 1 appears"
EPF use *species assesment*
"The savage karen lvl 1 call for help !" "A savage karen Lvl 10 appears ! She use *photo with her phone* and *you can't fish here*
EPF counter with *good arguments*
THE SAVAGE KAREN LVL 10 IS KO ! THE SAVAGE KAREN LVL 1 IS KO TOO !
I will say if that a nature reserve it is very bad because there is no pump aka fountain to supply air and it is pretty muddy no one could see it
Along with all the goldfish.
And hasn’t been cleaned up in 17 years
Is your go pro on a chest harness or a head harness or something?
I think she was profiling they think you'll eat them
That could have been true, Bradley. I certainly felt that way, but again -- how I feel is really subjective. Without saying it explicitly, we can only assume. Tight lines and thanks for watching!
How do I sign up for the 2021 Pastorius Park Youth Fishing Derby? That would be a nice icebreaker activity after the pandemic.
Hahaha, poor leo!! They're making such invalid points that it drives me insane that you got "kicked out"
