Unfortunately Upwork stopped giving the 50 free connects to new users. In order to be eligible for the free connects you have to do one of two things:
1 - Subscribe to their Freelancer Plus membership plan for $20 USD a month, or
2 - Purchase 100 Connects for $15 USD.
After you fulfill this requirement you will also receive 50 free Connects to further help you get started on Upwork.
