Jack could fly? Bro, Jack Evans is one of the greatest high flyers ever, he invented a lot of high flying moves that we see today. He deserves a lot more love from the wrestling community.
Vampiro was a great comentator, later on he became part of a storyline in LU. i freaking miss lucha underground, It did not help that the network that showed it was small its called "el rey network" . It was also a new network that focused on dark shows and movies, also on old 90s 80s tv shows and movies. The whole thing was awesome .
Gift of the Gods title was actually something that required separate wrestlers to all win a "Medalion" from specific matches. These medallions would also serve as plates in the title themselves, so when the event where the title was finally on the line came around, all of the people who won their medallions were able to participate in a match FOR the title to become the first champion After that though, I don't know what they did with the title, since I stopped keeping track after season 2
@@kokukun6907 I know there were four seasons, but I couldn't find out why the show seemingly died. Which was a shame too, I've seen how season 4 looked and all I'd have to say is that the stadium they were in was what killed off all the vibes that it had
And the Gift of the Gods title worked similar to the Money in the Bank briefcase. You just didn't get the world title shot instantly but for the next episode when cashing in. The story behind that was that Dario Cueto said he needed to advertise the title match over the week to make more moey off it.
That thing hanging from the center of the ring during that ladder match between Fenix and Cuerno at 7:41is the Gift of The Gods Championship. The best looking championship Title in all of Wrestling you heard me. This is there secondary title that opperates in a unique way. You have two win medallions from other people, I believe there were 7 medallions in total if I'm wrong someone please correct me. Once all medallions are collected by two people, then the fight to combine all of the medallions into the final form, The Gift Of The Gods Championship. You can also trade it in exchange for a shot at the Lucha Underground Championship. Similar to how MITB or Option C for TNA's X Division championship. Hopefully you understood that. Keep up the great Work Con.
Yep, but if I'm not mistaken, the medals were on the line in single matches, and once all seven were out, they did the Gift of the Gods ladder match. It was one of the greatest things from LU
In case you were wondering the dude in the navy blue Boiler suit and mask is Jeff Cobb. In this promotion, he went be the ringname The Monster Matanza Cueto. He was the kayfabe monstorous brother of the owner of the promotion Dario Cueto. The finisher Jeff Cobb has that's normally called Tour of the Islands in LU was called Wrath of The Gods.
The guy Con thought was Joe Gacy was actually Marty Martinez. He was on WWE Tough Enough 2011 before he was in LU, and had a couple of AEW Dark matches a couple of years ago. He had a pretty decent run in LU and beat Penta for the championship at one point too.
Lucha Underground was the best show I've watched long time ago. Also great reaction and video, season 3 is wild and I can't wait for you to react to it. The Gift of the Gods title. Puma was absolutely the best performaner and wrestler in Lucha Underground.
LU was so revolutionary with the visuals and camera angles they used. Seasons 1-3 were damn near perfect and 90% of the roster either went to NXT or AEW. The head guy Dario Cueto is doing a similar character in MLW now. They run Lucha shows and it’s as close as we will ever get LU coming back
Also I forgot to comment this as well that spot of Mil Muertes busting his hand throught the coffin to grab Matanza Cueto was never done by Undertaker. Like you said before, LU was the alternative.
Marty the moth was great. I wasn’t sure about him when they first brought him in but he totally won me over through time. That’s my favorite part of Lucha Underground, there were so many characters like that
Suffice it to say I feel like Lucha underground get a lot of insane high flying high risk moves, but a lot of hard-core stuff stuff with tables and ladders in caskets and chairs and throwing people through glass and just wait until you see the match in season three or four where there was some insane spots involving glass Yes, Killshot a.k.a. swerve Strickland was involved
I can remember being so happy whe. Rey Mysterio showed up here. He waa always one of my favorites and he really brought something to the show. Having a well known wrestler and all
Do more lucha Underground videos. I watch all the seasons live and the series was incredible. It was tapped episodes not live but they made the show look incredible and i enjoyed all the unique matches and amaxing roster of wrestlers and really cool championships. A must watch for wrestling fans.
Marty the Moth only ever did part of a tough enough competition for WWE, he was never actually in the promotion. He was mostly only Lucha Underground with a few matches in AEW. The sister was Mariposa, who had 2 runs in TNA. One as the person in the Hijab that came out with Awesome Kong and then as Cheerleader Melissa.
Jeff Cobb's name in LU was Matanza Cuerto I believe. The brother to the promoter, and he was built up like an old school monster heel who destroyed everyone and everything
Lucha Underground is amazing all 4 seasons!! The best commentary team, yes Vampuro and Matt Striker is great. I wish they where on main television not just el ray network.
The Gift of the Gods championship: They ran it every season. First: Collect all 7 Medallions in a variety of matches and then, when the Gift of the Gods title was complete (All 7 Medallions where put in the Title), the wrestler who held the gift of the god title (Collected all 7 Medallions) could challenge the Champion. Most times this took place on the two hour special Aztec Warfare. Some kind of mid season and Season Ending.👍
Was it season 2 or 3 when penta took on the lotus triad, kairi hojo (sane) io shirao and mayu iwatani. Insane and brutal, those chops i felt in my soul
Big chunk of the glass, weapons etc were movie props or gimmicked for safety. After show was cancelled many of the wrestler did Wrestlecade and shared the inside scoop
In my honest opinion it was wwe, tna from 04/05 to 2010, lucha underground, roh and njpw Side note I soooooo badly want lucha underground to make a comeback I miss it so much
Lucha Underground was THE definition of "Equal Rights, Equal Fights" and were not afraid of showing it.

The Gift of the Gods championship. It was a title belt doubling as a bit of a money in the bank briefcase
I wince every time when Penta pulls the arm back and snaps it. Such a brutal move
The guy in the green is Dragon Azteca Jr. Con if you want to know all these stories, you have to get back to the Lucha Underground watchalongs

Dragon Azteca Jr. is Rey Horus in AAA wrestling.

That was the Gift Of The Gods title hanging and the guy in the green was Dragon Azteca Jr.

12:08 In Lucha Underground, he's billed as "The Monster" Matanza Cueto. But it's just Jeff Cobb in a Jason Voohees gimmick.
Also, guy in the green mask is El Dragon Azteca Jr
19:53 I think he's name is The Magnificent Martin... but here, he's the deranged Marty 'the Moth' Martinez.
At the time this brand was on air i was all in the mindset of F wwe cause wwe felt repetitive then
side note in 2016 i think sadly wwe bought the rights to the stuff so it aint ever coming back
Hell in an interview with Chris van Vliet Gunther stated pentagons chop almost matched his said it even made him bleed
Matt Striker and Vampiro are awesome on commentary

Marty the moth Martinez was the guys name
That's Marty the marth Martinez
The guy in the red bodysuit (Aerostar) is Hologram in AEW now
Jeff Cobb’s gimmick in LU was Matanza Cueto.

Man here's the question I have for those who watched LU as well:what was the best storyline the promotion did in its 4 seasons?
a guitar is normal J.J used it all the time as a prop to get something over or to make someone angry od in a match
the guy in the green flying over prince puma was pj black aka justin gabriel
He is asking about dragon azteca
The lil mans name was Mascarita Sagrada
The thing hanging was the gift of the gods championship in the center the rest are rings to hold on to
lutcha bros where in wwe and went don the card quickly
You get the big monster vs mil muertes (sp?) though. Big meaty men slapping meat and quick on their feet.
prince puma was so great now in wwe as ricochet he gets nothing special
I believe his name was Montazna Cueto or something like that
Penta vs vampiro is a decent match you should watch it. I think it was in season 3
I could be wrong, but I think Rey was actually a Trio’s Champion in LU at some point
He was, with Ricochet *Prince Puma* and Rey Horus who in LU went by the name Dragon Azteca Jr
Yes EL torito
The thumbnail is from season 1 😂😂😂
Ricochet needs to be back in WWE
What you say about Pentas chops being the hardest Gunther would like a word about that
Son of Havoc is Matt Cross
If you can react to Vampiro (hes one of the commintators) vs Pentagon really great match
Bro Motor City Machine Guns has also signed with wwe
Can you please do a video reacting to krule he is the indie version of a kane and braun stroughmen combined
Wait till you watch Killshot vs Dante Fox
Theres a bunch of ladders something hanging above the ring obviously its a title
Mlw is the brother brand to lucha underground
Does anybody here in the comments have a match suggestion for Lucha underground?
Rey Mysterio vs Prince Puma. If you want something violent then The Hell of War Match between Killshot and Dante Fox.
you should check out CZW
I can't afford patrion
Mascarita Sagrada* not Mascarito
Lets be honest they gonna make the lucha bros jobbers in the main roster 😔
