You have done such a great job shaping your own life, I remember that time you used to make those yearly "Get to Japan" motivational speeches.. I was at a point in my life where I was so unhappy and unsatisfied, and after watching that video I applied for a language school in Japan and went. I know I've already said it, but I have to thank you so much because it was the best thing I have ever done in my life. I hope I can go back to Japan in the soon future to live, because a day doesn't pass where I wish I was there.
It's so good to see how happy you are, and how much you are enjoying your life now. I hope more and more great things come your way!

When I was living in Matsuyama I used to love getting up and going for a pre-dawn wander. It's probably slightly different in a city as big as Fukuoka, but I felt like I had the world to myself, and in a country where the urban areas are so full of life and energy, it was a pretty amazing feeling.
Having worked in radio since 1977 I still enjoy the people I meet every day. No two days are the same.

My 24 hours involve waking up at 7am, going to wait for a bus that rarely turns up, running to the bus stop in the next street in the hopes of catching that one, and arriving at work in the nick of time. I then spend 8 hours in the joyful world of retail, go home, eat, work on my novel/draw/eat some more, and then go to bed. Outside of work, I don't really do a lot (well, I'm going to London this weekend, but that's a rarity).

I wake up at 5. I then try to not freak out on the interstate with insane traffic and construction. I am at work by 7. I then work in customer service until 3:30. After I get home I just relax, make dinner, then go into a time warp since before I know it, it's 8. I then shower half asleep and get to bed by 10.
This comment is about you Micaela, I watched several of your first Vlogs,and of course the last several months. On the surface you are the average ,girl next door; but, you have that inner aura, that people see, and feel, which is why you have gotten where you are today. There was luck, and being in the right spot at the right time, but it was you that made it work
On a weekday, my alarm goes off at 6:30am and I snooze it until 6:45. I shower, do my hair and get ready for work. I walk to the train station and catch the train to my office, reading a book for the ride, start work at 8:30am and finish at 4:30pm. When I come home and walk back from the train station, I do a bit of cleaning while I wait for my partner to come back home at 5:30pm and then we cook together and have dinner. We usually watch cartoons while we eat and then my partner helps me study for the JLPT's afterward. Then I usually go to my desk to study for online university for two hours, watch a little more TV or play games/read, and then head off to bed at about 11:00pm. :)

Your days looks very exciting!! Especially the food part 😁 mine is very boring compare to yours 😢 woke up at 6.30am ... Spends loong time in shower (maybe even fall asleep there) then start working at 8.30am. Lunch .. either something simple near office or if I have appointment out of the office then got chance to try something different (unfortunately not always good 😁) then finish work at 5.30pm ... Spends few hours playing online game or watch movies or both 😓 then go to bed ....

My day in the life: I wake up around 5:30, and Im on the road by 6:20 to start work at 7. I work at an animal hospital, as an RVT so my days are usually long and pretty hectic. My shift ends at 4:00 and then I battle through traffic to get home, which is usually around 5:00. I then turn into a vegetable, until bed time. The End.
Since it's summer, my day is 12 hours on the computer and 12 hours sleep ;D
My day is like... Eat food... Do video games... Do some work... Do more food... Repeat. Then sleep.
Also, those mist refresher things like the one you use at 1:41 will literally save your life, they are amazing for in the middle of the day when you already look like you've had a long day.

You are smart to not wear too much makeup because:
1. You're too pretty to need it
2. The chemical companies (makeup manufacturers) don't really care about people, they just want your money. Of course they make people believe that they care (that's the effect of effective [expensive] "marketing") but they really don't.

In the morning, trains to Tokyo from outer regions tend to be crowded for more than 100% while ones from Tokyo to outside is nearly empty... You get exhausted before you start working. LOL. It becomes the other way round during the evening. いいな～... Nice to be surrounded by creative people! Mine=Typical salary-person. But if you are a computer programmer, you won't be sleeping for 3 days and won't be home for a week or a month! Since I often travel for my job and work in different cities, my days are never the same. Mostly I wake up like 6:30 am in the morning. Work from 9am to 4:30 pm and if I am unlucky I have to drive 2-6 hours to the next city ;)

SK-II has a good reputation in Australia. I really want to try their products but they're a bit out of my price range here.
Jessie D Yeah! They're really nice! I have sensitive skin so I was worried they wouldn't work (I recently used another brand that was also really expensive, but it made the area around my eyes puffy and red.) so I'm glad I made the switch!
Where I went in Fukuoka they also did a skin assessment test and gave me some samples. I wonder if there's a place near you where you could just go for the skin test and free samples, without buying anything...
Makeup withholding, those red eyes. You can totally tell you just woke up for this video. Always waking up with the red eyes. Too early...too early. Going to bed, can't find the right position to sleep - Waking up, every position is the best position to fall back asleep...
Haha, yeah, I can never fall asleep when I know I have to be up early. But after a year of this job I'm kind of getting the hang of it.
It depends on if there is school. On school days, I wake up and kind of lay around for 20 minutes to help wake up, then I get dressed and brush my hair and head down stairs for breakfast. Then I leave for the bus at 7:40am. When I get home I either read or check in on my friends. At about 5:30pm, my mom comes home and we have dinner. After that I do my homework(if I have any) while listening to music or sort of watching tv with my family. On weekends and non-school days, I sleep in more and stay up late. During the day my family and I go out to the mall and window shop or go do some exercise, like swimming.

My day in my life. Awake at 4:30-5:30 pm, shower,If I'm up early I drive 12 miles to a restaurant for a chicken caesar salad, or mushroom swiss burger. I relax with the meal and read my book, till around 6:45 pm. Drive to work across town 15 miles to the airport, I'm a parts clerk for the aircraft mechanics. start work at 8 pm-6 am. In that time I pick-up/drop-off parts at certain planes that will go to the 2 other airports that we have stations at. also run parts to mechanics working on the planes at the gates. Have dinner during work, food I cooked on my off days. Drive 22 miles back home, have breakfast, cereal, or several eggs with bacon. Surf the net, FB Twiter, RUclips, watch various asian dramas with eng subs.+go to sleep around 10-11 am. repeat sun-wed. Thur-Sat days off.

WOW, you have been there for eight years?!?! I am so jealous. I have been wanting to live in Japan since I was 8 and I am now 39 but people say I am to old to get a job there teaching English or to do anything. :(
I am finishing up my College BA degree in December 2015. So, yeah its been a long time coming but being a single mom you have to do priorities.
I am learning to speak Japanese. My goal is to move there soon to Japan.

My usual 24 hours begins when I wake up at 6am-7am. I work from 2pm till 8pm, and I walk to and from work so I usually have until 1pm to do whatever. I try and stay as pro-active as possible, working on writing projects, reading, and so on. But sometimes I just spend hours watching stuff on Netflix or occasionally playing video games.
I'd like to do more, but I live in a rural area and don't have a car or motorcycle, so I cant get that far. Otherwise I'd probably be structuring my day more rigidly, going for an hours swimming here or something like that.
When I worked two jobs, my day began at 6am. I caught a bus at 8am and started work at 9am. Then when my shift ended at noon, I caught the 12:04pm bus back home and left for work at 3pm (this was before I was offered more hours at my evening job).
I work alternating weekends on 8am till 2pm also.
Now I feel bad for not dedicating time to play with my dogs in my extremely busy days. I do walk them often but whenever I come home at night I skip it. Unfortunately the safety around my neighbourhood makes everything more difficult, especially for a girl walking her dogs at night, alone. I wish I was in Japan T-T
On a week day I wake up at 7am, feed the pets, get ready, walk the dog, then head to class. I usually have class from 9am to 13pm. Then I go home have lunch and do some work from home, and head out for work with my dog (pet friendly office!!!). Work from 15h to 19h, head home, stop by the park to walk my dog. Get home feed the pets, go do any grocery shopping I might need, or go to the gym, then either spend the evening home or go out for dinner or something.
The Fur Monsters So jealous of the pet-friendly office! Although, I suppose I do a lot of work at home so that sort of counts, right? ;)
Micaela ミカエラ It's definitely a huge plus!!! I work part time at the office and part time from home. I much prefer working from the office though, especially since there are lots of puppehs around.

Cool routine! I definitely learned something new today: using cotton pads and facial essence as a makeshift mask. You look so pretty even without makeup! And after a long day you still show so much love to your pets! Sugoi! Ganba ^^b!
dPierrot Whenever I get my makeup done by makeup artists (for photoshoots or TV) they always did that. They'd leave them on my cheeks and I'd be like "wait why?" and they insisted it helped lock in moisture. :)
I love Fukuoka dish. Fukuoka dish is very much suit me. Because Fukuoka is my roots and is my mother country LOL. Right, Fukuoka is really good country.

Difficult because you're afraid he will be lonely? Or difficult because he causes trouble? We all have to work, I just tell myself it's necessary if I want to keep living with him, since keeping a dog can be pretty expensive in Japan. ;-)

I'm curious why you chose to live in Fukuoka. Not many people know about Fukuoka when considering moving to Japan. My friend lives there and even she was surprised that I know about it (mainly because of your videos), even though I lived in japan.
It's the fifth biggest city in Japan, I don't think it's that uncommon to know about it these days! It's also being eyed as a business and startup capital, our mayor was on the cover of Forbes magazine a few months back too.
It's bigger than you realize I think ;-)
