I started with Armani and Prada fragrances. Hugo reverses is a great all-around fragrance. I think it would be a good starter frag! I would recommend sampling as much as you can instead of blind buying (it can get expensive).
Maybe start with John Varvatos Artisan for the money its great and you get 4.2 oz, I just bought another bottle myself and haven't put a dent in the first one. Any of the ones he mentioned are a good start to your fragrance journey
I just bought Dylan Blue 200ml, but the performance is really bad. Like a 3 hours, not 8. The smell is really good, but that was really waste of my money. Maybe my skin is not compatible with the Dylan Blue :/

It could also be because I moved to a really hot area but it’s really perfect anytime - fresh & vibrant, never too heavy...I just keep going back to it!
pika pi I to overspray anyway, unless I’m using something like Amouage, or any high quality scent, so I go 6 - 8 all over. I get about 1 - hrs descent projection & then it lasts closer for about another 3 hrs. I do an additional 4 - 6 refresh sprays after 4 or 5 hours. I kinda like how you can be pretty free with the sprays & it’s not expensive.
If that's the format you prefer, check out basenotes, fragrantica, or even buzzfeed. They will have lists in the format you are looking for. This notion that you have to wear a fragrance at a certain time of day or with a specific outfit is pure BS. It's scented water, and if it smells good and you like it, it works no matter the occasion. It's just marketing and hobbyist snobbery that tries to dictate all of these rules, probably to justify buying 50 different fragrances instead of like 3. Wear what you want people!

Anosmic reactions and once the fragrance is exposed to new air it oxidizes slightly over time
