Bonjour Dylane, thank you so much for your lessons...they are great and very helpful! I'm not sure about something: all the verbs ending in AYER, OYER and UYER can be conjugated with an I or with an Y?
Paula only verbs in -ayer have the 2 conjugations (I mean 2 different ones) for verbs ending in -oyer and -uyer, the present tense will change to I for everything besides nous and vous which will stay y. I hope I explained it well because explaining in writing isn't easy 😅
I'm a high school student with French as one of my electives and although I have learnt French for the majority of my life, I have never quite understood it as well as until now. So how do you identify verbs that would be conjugated in the same manner as "appeler" and ones that would follow the same format as "geler"? (I hope I've explained my question to you well😅)
Very good question with a not great answer :D You have to remember them by heart. I wish there was another way but not really. The good thing is that they aren't that many :)
How do i know which way to conjugate a verb that ends in eler or eter? Jeter and Acheter both end in eter but are conjugated differently. Examples between 9:17-14:25
i am confused between -eler and -eter, how i am going to recognize which rule to apply. what if i am not aware about the other verbs and apply an additional t or l with the pronouns. and the rule was to change the e to è. i'll probably get that wrong. please explain how would i know which verb ending with -eler and -eter will be going with which rule!
Hi Dylane.. I recently started to learn french .. I have a doubt pls clarify me for verbs ending in " eler" .. why is geler is not conjugated as per eler rule where L gets doubled? and similarly why is appeler is not getting conjugated as per the rule where e becomes è ?
Bonjour If we see a verb that is ending by "eler" or "eter" how to conjugate it like '"eler" of Appeler or "eler" of geler ....."eter" of jeter or"eter" of Acheter it was a 😵💫 🤔.....

Hey dylan! Wonderful video! I hv a small question tho if you don't mind... So there are 2 ways of conjugating -eler and -eter right? is there any way of identifying which verbs fall into which way of conjugating? Merci beaucoup!
Hi! Thank you for this lesson. I'm having a hard time understanding the stem change with verbs ending in -eler and -eter. In some cases (appeler) you add a double L but don't add the accent. In other cases (geler) you don't add a double L but an accent. So how do I remember which ones need to have a double consonant added and which ones the accent? Is it just something to remember by heart or is there a rule? Thanks x
I'm sorry but i didn't understand the pronounciation of Appeler with Il,Elle,On🌚can you please tell me why did you pronounce it nappelle, how did n come there🥲
Bonjour, I am going through your book and trying to remember all verb conjugations given there. I have come across a few resources where they have mentioned about "spelling reforms of 1990". It's mentioned that for verbs ending with -ETER & -ELER, we can either double the consonant (i.e. use TT & LL) or use accent grave with "e" (i.e. use ÈT & ÈL), except for APPELER, JETER and their derivatives. I will be very thankful to you if you can confirm this. If so, can these new spelling forms be used in official language exams like TCF and TEF. Merci beaucoup
Hi Sandeep, sorry for my late reply :) Yes, the reform that you are talking about is true. However, for the TCF and TEF I would stick to the regular spelling and grammatical rules. Just to be safe ;)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Hello Thank you very much for the reply. I’ll stick to the old spellings then. I have a question: you made an example of -eler with "appeler" whose conjugation(with the exception of nous and vous) had double "l" but coming to "geler" with the same -eler ending, it was an accent on the first -e.
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Oh, I see. I mean, they aren't irregular for no reason, haha
So to know that if it's irregular verbs it has to end -CER and -GER etc.. right?
Yes :)
How do i know which way to conjugate a verb that ends in eler or eter? Jeter and Acheter both end in eter but are conjugated differently. Examples between 9:17-14:25
You have to know them by heart :)
i am confused between -eler and -eter, how i am going to recognize which rule to apply. what if i am not aware about the other verbs and apply an additional t or l with the pronouns. and the rule was to change the e to è. i'll probably get that wrong. please explain how would i know which verb ending with -eler and -eter will be going with which rule!
Hi Dylane.. I recently started to learn french .. I have a doubt pls clarify me for verbs ending in " eler" .. Example appeler we add double "ll" but for the word Geler we add "èl" ( I guess the same for "eter") . Iam confused in this plssss clarify me for what kind of words we need to add " ll " Or " è" Thank you so much in advance..
They are 2 different types of verbs and unfortunately you have to remember them by heart :/
Comment dit-on good grief?
why is geler is not conjugated as per eler rule where L gets doubled? and similarly why is appeler is not getting conjugated as per the rule where e becomes è ?
-eler have 2 different types of verbs, remember which one goes in which group :) Luckily there aren't many :)
Bonjour
If we see a verb that is ending by "eler" or "eter" how to conjugate it
like '"eler" of Appeler or "eler" of geler
....."eter" of jeter or"eter" of Acheter
it was a 😵💫 🤔.....
I know :( Some of them have to be known by heart 😕
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Does that means that only Appeler & Jeter are the only verbs that are conjugated like "Appellxx & Jettxx" or are there more of those? Thank you! I find this course awesome! It is really helping me to improve my French!
Hey dylan! Wonderful video! I hv a small question tho if you don't mind... So there are 2 ways of conjugating -eler and -eter right? is there any way of identifying which verbs fall into which way of conjugating?
Merci beaucoup!
Unfortunately you have to remember them by heart :/
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane That's quite sad... 😭Hopefully I'm able to remember them 🤣! Thank you so much for ur reply❤
Am I right in saying tu ends with es except Jeter?
Non jeter still takes es at the end. or maybe I didn't understand your question?
Thanks x
Elisa yes you have to remember it by heart :)
I'm sorry but i didn't understand the pronounciation of Appeler with Il,Elle,On🌚can you please tell me why did you pronounce it nappelle, how did n come there🥲
Bonjour,
I am going through your book and trying to remember all verb conjugations given there.
Hi Sandeep, sorry for my late reply :)
Yes, the reform that you are talking about is true. However, for the TCF and TEF I would stick to the regular spelling and grammatical rules. Just to be safe ;)

Hello
Thank you very much for the reply. I’ll stick to the old spellings then. I’m going through the conjugation tables at the end of book and there is an accent mistake for ILS in Célébrer. Just pointing out so that you can correct when update the ebook.
Thanks again for all your help

You have to know them by heart :)
I am a bit confused why dosen't appeler have è like geler as both verbs end in eler?
Apologies for my late reply. Unfortunately there is no rule for those two, they just have different conjugations :/
Bonsoir Dylane! Comment ça va?
Je suis confus...
The stem of appeler is appel (no accent) but for geler it is gèl (with accent)
Is there a rule for this or just one of things I have to just remember?
Merci!
No Rob you have to know them by heart :/
Ah excellent 🤣 Merci beaucoup!
