Thank you very much Ash! It is a great name isn't it! The 'clumps' themselves are a couple of old groups of beech trees that grow on top of iron-age forts here, and themselves make nice photographic subjects. A very interesting place! S.
Steph's similar images on Instagram are, indeed, lovely though I have had a revelation by comparing yours at the same time. I now know that the reason I'm never so crazy about Instagram is that you don't get the same emotion and depth that you do watching music-augmented videos with the artist explaining more about the location, how they felt at the time and their goal for the image. Galleries leave me a little flat for the same reason. I'm happy to discover that so thank you! I think my favorite of this series is the one at 3:15 because I love the light without the actual sun in this case. It was worth the trip before you move on!
Thank you very much Juanita! I completely agree, and it is one of the reasons I like to make RUclips videos. I’m actually not a big fan of Instagram, it’s definitely not the best place to show/view images, especially the kinds of images I normally like to take, but it has it’s place. I enjoy being able to tell more of the story behind my images on RUclips though! S
@@BosePhotography Agree with you both on the Instagram thing completely. I shoot a lot of 65:24 ratio and you try getting that on the finger swiping app..lol.
What a beautiful location Sam... and so nice for you to have a full circle moment of getting some images in the same place before you moved to Scotland. Oh I love a lone tree and the colours in the sky were gorgeous. You must almost be in Scotland now if you're not already so I wish you and Hannah all the best for your next exciting chapter. Can't wait to see all the stunning images I know you'll get there! 😊
Thank you Angie! We’ve just finished the move, although still have a lot of unpacking to do! We might need a few days to recover, but hopefully we’ll have the first of our videos from up here put together soon! S
Thanks Alan, I had meant to visit a lot more, as when we first moved here we lived in Abingdon, but after we moved to Charlbury it was just that little bit too far away (and then we had the pandemic too!). It’s well worth a visit though! S
Nice photos Sam, I've never been to Wittenham clumps before I'll have to go now as it's not too far away (I live on the Eastern side of Swindon) Good luck with your move, I wonder where you are going too? All the best Sandy
@@WiltshireMan thank you very much Sandy, yes you should definitely visit the place. I lived in Abingdon when I first moved to Oxford so it was really convenient, and I also enjoyed heading into the Chilterns. Yes, we’re currently in the process of moving to Wester-Ross in the highlands. Looking forward to the landscapes and wildlife up there, but I’ll certainly miss some of the landscapes down here as well! S
Nice one Sam great video you really managed to capture the atmosphere of the morning and got some great photos to come home with to. All the best on your move to Scotland take care Trev
Thank you very much Trevor! We're up in Scotland now, still recovering slightly from the move, but really happy to be up here now and will hopefully have some videos up soon! S.
Lovely atmospheric images Sam. Do you find that the improved dynamic range of the R5 means that you don't need to bracket images as often as before, as one exposure is usually enough? I wonder because that's what I've noticed with my R6 (upgrading from EOS 80D).
Hi Mark, thank you very much! Yes definitely, The dynamic range is a big step up compared to the 5Diii. Actually, although I mentioned I was bracketing in this video, none of the final images that were shown were bracketed! S
Thanks Alan! Yes, it’s been on the cards for a while but we were putting it off until the price came down a little! We decided to take advantage of the Double Cashback offer in November though. I haven’t actually had many opportunities to use it yet, been very busy with the move and finishing up experiments in the lab, but it has featured in the last couple of videos. We’re moving up to the highlands this week though, so I’m looking forward to putting it through it’s paces on some Torridonian hills! 😀 S

What an absolutely wonderful place name..Wittenham Clumps! Beautiful images too!

Fantastic images… haze and morning sun are amazing combinations
Thank you very much Rajesh! S

Superb images, Sam. A perfect example of 'less is more' as they. Beautiful 👍
Thank you very much David! S
Very nice! I really like the subtle sidelight on the foreground field in the last shot. Getting out early always makes for a good start to the day.
Thank you very much, yes I liked the way the light just caught the field in the last image too. Thanks for mentioning it! S

Some cracking images Sam. Haven't been there for many years (used to visit Benson a lot) so I must get back sometime.

I enjoyed the video as usual Sam.
Some really stunning image's of which you must have been very pleased with.
All the best bud.
Thank you very much Tim, this was my last shoot in Oxfordshire (we’ve just finished moving up to Scotland now) so it was a good way to say farewell! S

Ah just read the description...The Highlands. Wonderful, you wioll have plenty of photo opportunities up there:)
