Absolute legend so many big goals… the hat trick against United and the winning goal in against them in the cup… him and gerrard were the reasons I really became a fan of Liverpool back in 2007!!! He was my favorite player for a long time.

He was slightly above average, BUT he put in the work every game - which puts him above a lot of the deadweight from 2006-2016

Dirk was the ultimate professional in his time at Liverpool, I loved the fact that he didn't mind where he was playing as he was such a team man. Klopp would have loved him, it's always great hearing from the former players, glad he's doing okay.
Kuyt was just brilliant to watch! Always gave 110% and played with heart. Not always got the recognition he deserved but a perfect example to the next generation.
Legend, was such a reliable hard worker for that Liverpool team.
Love Dirk Kuyt and was gutted when he left. A total grafter that covered every blade of grass anytime he played and never gave up. A players player. Everyone needs to be more like Dirk.

I've not seen someone work as hard as Dirk for Liverpool football club in all the years I've been watching. The closest I can think of is probably Mascherano, but Dirk was just different class. Absolutely love the man.

Never watched a game where Kuyt didn’t put a shift in, he was such a good player, scored important goals and grafted so hard for the team. I was in Hong Kong when his signing was announced and asked a Dutch colleague there, who is this guy? - the answer was simple - you’ve got a good one. Brilliant signing. Often underrated. Shout out to Peter McDowall - keep up the great work, really like your interviewing style and content around LFC.

Quite poignant that thing about his dad, coming up to having just lost my grandfather just about a year ago myself. Good on him for continuing his career at LFC and doing well as he did there after that, not sure if have always been able to do the same in my life myself since then. Yeah just feel that, I know ppl say mental health is something for talking about with certain ppl. But didnt know that about Dirk, yeah just unique to have learned that. I started watching football when Kuyt was in the team. He said he wanted to be remembered as someone who doesn't give up, and that was what I loved about him. Dude never seemed to stop running when I watched him play, feel like he would have killed in his peak under Klopp.
