I got a tamiya hornet Christmas 1984 from beatties liverpool. I loved the build as it was my first rc car that I had to build and trying to set up the servos to steer straight and the mechanical speed controller. And the running it in the back street . I have moved on to faster and better built cars like kyosho optima and schumacher procat but I still have a soft spot for my original tamiya hornet. I have replaced it with another original hornet to fill in hole I missed but I will be getting the hornet evo to go with it and it will be run .
I will get one and maybe just run it on the grass and protect the underside. I like the fact Tamiya has done this as it keeps the hobby interesting. Would really love to see the mini you have on the shelf on the top left, love those cars. Thaks for the videos 👍
This is a great idea in principle. But the changes to the rear end on the evo change that rear view of the buggy. It was all axle and gear box and the spike tires. Go back to the original promo from 1985. There is a hornet in red pulling away from you heading into the dirt hills. As a kid I thought that was amazing.

I will pick one of these up and hope I can use some of these mods on my Grasshopper to make it drive better. I will be back in Japan in late October or early November so Im now confused on what I want bring home due to luggage space.

I am pretty dark on Associated for not just releasing a garden variety re-re of their RC10. Some of us want to run our re-re's and not pay a high premium for the priviledge. I think you might need a better mic, and or some kind of sound baffling in your room. Audio needs help. Enjoying the channel.
I only still know original hornet. probably brand new evo this winter in our countly. Then I will try to get it and compare both cars! Sorry for my poor english.

Supposedly exposure to UV can harm rubber and also ozone. Real excited about the evo Hornet!

I had a very similar idea as you, I'm going to turn my Hornet Evo into a Grasshopper 2 Super G Evo.
