Hey! That’s awesome you’re interested in the field. First step would be to figure out where you want to work (state/city/county/jurisdiction) then see what departments are in that area and check out their website for detailed application steps or reach out to a recruiter. Good luck!
Its all in who you know. I did not get on with any department I tried for years. If it were not for the Undersheriff growing up in the same neighborhood as my mother I would have never gotten offer. All it took was meeting the sheriff and his poor attitude and I walked out on the same day I was hired. Don't think its all going to be peaches and cream, it not. What I have seen for years is many who did get hired were the same kids I saw in school and they were the type that got picked on all the time. When this type gets hired and for many it tends to go to their head and they end up doing dumb things that get them fired or in one case put in prison (PEDO). I live right outside and Army base that supplies the local LE agencies with new recruits, these tend to be the first they hire. Why ? Because the agency heads know these officers are newly discharged from the military and that these recruits will just end up getting their LE credentials here in my state and then transfer back to their home states for LE jobs there. So its beneficial for the departments in my town to hire them since the recruits won't be here long and the local LE agencies don't have to contribute or pay out a retirement.
@@TheLWebb100 Where I'm from, each department has their own process (written test, physical test, poly, background interview, etc.). If you want to apply for more than 1 department, then you'll have to take each of their tests separately. Hope I was able to answer your question :)

How did u start I been looking into becoming a cop but all departments I try to apply for say u all ready need to be certified but I'm not do u have any pointers for what I should do or do I need to just call the departments recruitment office? Thanks
American White boy XD that means you need to take a civil service exam and if you pass that, you receive an eligibility letter. After the eligibility letter you just wait to become certified. It could take a few years until you get a certification letter. After that, you can express written interest if you're invited to, and from there they'll tell you what you need to do to apply.
I can't speak for others but mine was as simple as applying online and getting a date and time to show up for the written and physical test. No pre-certification needed! A lot of departments in my area and in surrounding counties are like that too. Maybe broaden your search and look at out-of-state opportunities.
Hey congrats I’m in the process as well in Florida how do yo pass the MMPI test that I will have to take soon
Thanks! Be honest and answer truthfully is the best advice I can give you. Good luck!
Noooooooo i don't like math 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

After completing Masters degree from Canada is it possible to get a good post in Police job?
Good job on completing your Masters degree! I’m not the best person to ask since I’m not sure how things are done in Canada

I’m not sure! I don’t work in TN but have friends out that way. I’d reach out to a recruiter if you can and get some info!

Gorgeous
Now they just ask one question
Are you really sure you want this job?
Yes I’m sure.
Congratulations you’re hired!
When can you start?
How we start preparation. I don't have any idea
But i am crazy intrest for that field
Hey! That’s awesome you’re interested in the field. First step would be to figure out where you want to work (state/city/county/jurisdiction) then see what departments are in that area and check out their website for detailed application steps or reach out to a recruiter. Good luck!
What kind of math did they have on the test? i am horrible at math and i feel like that will ruin me 😭
It’s been 2 years that I honestly can’t remember lol I just remember it wasn’t difficult if that helps!
Below the wrist is normal bud, 2inch above the elbow that is strict...
SB59 right? I was waiting for her to say no tattoos at all. My dept we have to cover them regardless.
when applying online can i leave certain criteria empty and bring the documents in person later on?
It all has to be filled out to the best of your ability.
What kinda of background checks do they do?
Thanks would like to ask you questions
ask away
Hi!!! what PD(State) did you apply for???My Friend applied for 2 PD'S. Oakland(city) and Santa Clara County Sheriffs
Hi! Congratulations to your friend! Tell him/her they are in for a great and stressful time :)
@@WhatLCSays So if you pass the written test you can apply to different departments throughout the country??
@@TheLWebb100 Where I'm from, each department has their own process (written test, physical test, poly, background interview, etc.). If you want to apply for more than 1 department, then you'll have to take each of their tests separately. Hope I was able to answer your question :)
@@WhatLCSays Oh wow, thanks for responding.
I didn’t get the best grades in high school I did graduate but nothing impressive but other then that I’m good will this affect me much?
no your grades in high school do not matter as long as you have your diploma.
You just took months of stress off of me !!
They’ll look at your transcript but as long as you have your diploma you’ll be fine! Good luck with the process!
Pretty lady, intelligent as well
i just saw your video your pretty :)
is this for the UK
What police dept is this
Application process has changed since I made this video. I’d encourage you to research and reach out to a recruiter of a department you’re interested in!
Helpful to the wannabes.
What kind of questions did you ask?
I asked them what they thought sets this department apart from others in the area. I also asked about the challenges they face as a department. I asked about the qualities and characteristics that set a good police officer from an average police officer.....and one or 2 more.
@@WhatLCSays Wow, these are both excellent and professional questions(like personal development to workforce production)!! Very impressive! Great job!~~
Can I call you for more advice

Did you have to take the drug test that you have to give a piece of your hair?
Sik Society nope! Just your run of the mill standard drug test. I think if you’re going federal they do that, but I’m not 100% sure lol
How many math questions are there?
Not a lot and they are super simple lol
I am not Canadian. Can I apply for rcmp
Hi! Do you remember all polygraph questions?
It was 6 questions--2 control questions "is your name.....?" "is today tuesday?" and then the remaining questions were based on the background packet--so it varies.
Hii . I'm Alberto and I want to became a police officer can you help me ?
Hey I'm jass I'm from Punjab what's academy i join ? I'm confused Dm me academy name or site plzzzzzz
Hi! Start off by figuring out where you want to be and then research departments in that area
Can you apply for police with a sexual battery conviction from 11 years ago?
Ew lmao. please don't apply.
Any tips for candidates about to take the written test?
About to film a video on that actually!
1.) relax
2.) take a few practice exams (NYPD, New Orleans, etc have practice questions)
3.) get to your testing sight early so you know where you need to go
4.) get solid sleep the night before
Good luck!!
