Some old houses have bath tubs. For example the double storey houses at TTDI area have it. Houses in PJ area also have it. These houses now are over 40 years old 😌

Yes, agree. My grandparents bought their 2-story corner terrace house more than 20 yrs ago for only about rm300k, they sold it for a bit more than rm3 million a few years ago 😅
I understand Aya's point of view about bathtubs. And yes, older houses and bungalows have them. But having a shower before going to work and coming home in the evening is way more practical. Many Malaysians don't think a long bath in a bathtub is necessary. You waste water and spend too much time in the tub. A shower does the job of refreshing the body just as well. But it's just my humble opinion. 🙏
I enjoy soaking in the tub too...so I just use the portable bath tub...warm water, soap bomb, music and you are good to go 😁 may you continue to enjoy your life here 👌

実は国境再開したのを機に今月下旬からマレーシアへ行くことになり、そのときにこちらへ再訪する予定なので変わらず素敵なホテルで安心しました🌺

1. Malaysians less using bathtub, because we normally go swim at the natural beach, river and swimming pool as recreation not daily . We can buy and installed bathtub nowadays too.
2. In larger family house, sometimes the bathtub can became multipurpose like soaking and wash cloth manually.. LoL!
3. To learn bahasa Melayu faster, it's easier to learn by start talking and communicate directly with Malaysians Malay language community, write later. That's how one of the popular Britishmen (Mat Dan, Ryhs William, Mark O'Dea) can master the local dialect in just few month, by only communicate first. Same like how kids learn to talk before learn to write in school. Because talk and hear is much easier and faster to remember and learn instead of read and write. Same as how we understand simple Japanese language by watching anime, without even know the katakana and kanji writing there. Good luck! :v

As always great content and congrats on 6 years of living in Malaysia Aya-san 😊 There are many places you can visit outside the KL area Aya-san and is a good way to know more on Malaysia. The best and fast way to learn Malay is speak with locals with Malays frequently Aya-san 😊 as this is my way of learning japanese by watch anime, drama or listen japanese song and learn to speak n pronounce it. Aya-san feel free to ask us as we gladly to help recommend nice places, food in malaysia 😊😊

I love bath in bathtub too. But, sometimes it feel more relaxing when you taking a shower. It ease my stress alot. Plus, bath tub is not part of Malay culture, because a long time ago, we use well or go to river, to take a bath/shower.

There are some apartment with bath tub. Seri hijauan in shah alam section 26 has it . I stayed there before long time ago!

If you buy a house you can install a bathtub. Most places use shower. It is true. Probably because we find dipping in dirty water in a bathtub is not good. But i understand in cold countries, it feels great dipping in bathtub, i do that when i was in canada. Onsen is similar i guess. Because in cold countries it is cold taking a shower standing up.
Yeah, because soaking in a bath tub with warm water in Malaysia’s hot & humid weather doesn’t really gel well most of the time. We prefer cold, rain showers to feel refreshed 😆
I loved taking warm baths when I was living in the UK though 🥰

Old houses in the UK have bathtub, but newer ones has shower cubicle to save space, some even have wet room like in Malaysia

Well, I used to have know this Japanese family when I was still working in Johor Bahru about 15 years back... ( JB has many Koreans & Japanese family living here, which is why many restaurants & shop are cater or open by them ) ... For his family ... they can't live without 1) AEON shopping mall, 2) Golf for the father, 3) Bon Odori in JB... Lol 4) Ox-san cafe dasuki .... anyway.... you need your bathtub , just like an Onsen.... so yes, I understand that... I miss Japan :( Hopefully can go back there next year.... anyway,, BYE BYE!

There are many reasons on why bathtub is not commonly used here
The main reasons are
1. the weather here is too warm thus you don't enjoy soaking on warm water
2. the water here contains some sentiments due to old water supply pipes so the bathtub get stained easily & required constant cleaning

Malaysian not using bathtub since our culture think using a bathtub are wasting water too much.Thats the main reason why Malaysian doesn't use bathtub.
2nd reason is especially with male if you are using shower room too long you will be mock around not clean up after yourself but doing something inappropriate thing inside.All Malaysia knew this sort of thing 😅😂🤭
Have you tried visiting other state in Malaysia? I'm sure you will love it.Different state offer different culture and way different languages.The food also offer different varieties depending what state you visiting...Feel free to visiting Borneo Sabah someday I'm sure you will enjoy it here also.😁👌

Houses built in the 70s and early 80s are equiped with bathtub, but being Malaysian shower is more satisfying when bathing. Probably we are used having so much shower naturally (rain) 😂😂😂

She looked really emotional when she landed here. She loves to cook malaysian food in hong kong and share with people there.
Aya can open a dental shop to serve japanese customers like that japanese hairstylist who setup shop here. Perhaps open half day.

Well to be fair,if you went to every Asean countries where the climate is just sunny all year long so there's no need for us for bath tub 😂 and yeah even in southern Japan isles like Okinawa they don't have bath tubs (if im not mistaken)

Bath tub is not part of Malay/bumiputras culture. Spend a long time on bath tub are not satisfying. Better take a bath at pool, sea or river.
Shower(normal) and manual pipe to fill water in pail for bath (traditional way taking bath in southeast asia especially in the village) are common things.
Happy 6 years to you. I think its great to see if Aya can mastering Malay language (learn standard Malay language before learning dialects of Malay). Its ok if Aya can't fluent, atleast Aya know something to speak in Malay(basic words are ok) 🤗

I think today Malaysian in general do not want to spend too much taking a bath. That is why the shower is commonly used nowadays. And filling up the tub itself would take at least 20 mins?

There are many houses that have a bath tub.. Ara Damansara,Tropicana.. i think is it compulsory to have a bath tub? I think if you go to other South East Asia countries also have these common things.. not all houses have bath tub.. it is called TYPICAL ASIAN BATH ROOM.. please do not label Malaysia as a country that doesn't have any bath tub..actually it is an optional requirement. At this point..you need to adapt..especially 6 years in Malaysia you still lack learning Bahasa Malaysia. Heeheh Ganbatte hehehe😍

マレーシアで困るのが郵便宅配。数年前住んでいた時、部屋にいるのに不在票おいていくし、郵便局の引取りに1，2時間かかる。郵便出すのも１時間待ちとか、要領の悪さは最悪（笑）。自動車免許もＪＰＪ行って５時間かかって日本のものから書き換え取得したけど、最近は１週間とかいう話も聞きました。あと私は辛いのが苦手なので、そこは辛い。
様々な手続きなどは本当にのんびりしていて困りますよね🥲辛いものが苦手な方もなかなかつらいと思います！辛くしないで、と言ってもけっこう辛かったりしますよね💦
juz ask owner to put bath tub, or buy it with ur own money, usually owner dont have problem with that..
Or buy portable one😂🤣

i think many foreigners here feel that they do not need to speak bahasa since English is widely used. However when you do not speak or understand a local language, you miss a lot especially understanding local culture, how locals care for each other, how locals respect the elders and educate the younger generations etc. This is why many foreigners stay within their circle of friends as there is lack of understanding and sometimes trust towards the locals. This is their choice and we as locals are not in a position to force them. そうでしょう、あやちゃん。

As Malaysian u are right. We took morning and evening shower . Sometimes it can be more in hot season. Bathtub most of the time custom made by House owner. Most of 5 stars hotel do have Bathtub . Our weather is humid . Cold shower is the best .. we don't like to sit in hot tub lol just too hot

what?..bad points of Malaysia is just only one : bathtubs are rare?..let me help you Aya. 1) Public transport in Malaysia are sucks especially city bus or interstate bus service, 2) In the roads, no priority given to pedestrian to walk. Cars are supreme beings in our roads, 3) Street and road cleanliness is still an issue, 4) Public Toilet Cleanliness also still an issue, 5) petty street crime is still exist and increasing, 6) foreign beggars (mostly foreign beggars from Rohingya,Myanmar), 6) Many stupid, idiotic and sellfish drivers and motobikers still exist in Malaysia, 7) Malaysia internet connection is still slowest among ASEAN countries. ..and several other things.. you can be brutally honest to the Malaysian and tell us what is bad so we can improve this. Dont worry . we wont get that offended by the negative comments, unless, you insulted our Nasi lemak.
