"Don't forget to mix" lol. a new Jackman classic
we need this clip on every product page for our epoxies!
You guys need to put my phone number on the jugs so people can call me whenever they mix some epoxy and I can scream at them for not mixing enough.
The roof rack wiggle was hilarious!!! You are one of the best creators on RUclips
Wow 😱 when I clicked on this video I was not expecting that kind of craftmanship ,and that kind of video editing either , amazing stuff
Great as always. While not part of the project, I love the shot of you driving through the water.
haha I ended up getting an even better shot today from the roof of the car, I'll be sure to post that on my Instagram feed.
You are a strange dude. Please never change.
First off awesome idea. Secondly I think this is your best editing job on a video yet! Great vid man. Bravo!
Amazing to hear! I try to up the quality a little bit every time
Looks awesome! I love the great trick of cutting a bigger trapezoid on the carbon fiber and making it fit in the wood cutout! Just had to match the angles.
Exactly! Easiest inlay I've ever done
I know I always comment the same thing but man, this editing! Love it! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm glad you're always enjoying it!
Looking good! I can't wait to see just how orange this truck is going to get!
So much orange, I can't wait! Shooting for a similar color as the Element :)
Mix!
And scrape...
Well done Paul! - Jim
MIx mix mix mix mix
Always a pleasure to watch s Jackman Works video. Interesting projects and innovative filming.
You just have so much creative energy and way too much time... lol You rock complicated ... and man the crazy tools you have!
I might have creative energy, but time is what I'm lacking haha
Love your videos! Always entertaining and informing. Recently bought a pair of Carolina boots because of your constant support for their product. Very comfortable boot!
Custom carbon fiber is pretty neato!!!
Yes! I need more!!
This was a really great video. I loved all the CNC and traditional working methods combined.
This was a fun one because I could work on something while the CNC was cutting or something was curing
That piece of the pallet wood snapped off super easy - maybe reinforce the whole back side with carbon fiber. Also, when using resin on composite materials such as carbon fiber or fiberglass, try using less resin. Less resin leaves a stronger end product. More resin leaves your end product weaker due to the higher level of part being brittle. Just a few tips from my aircraft repair days,,,,
It slammed into that clamp pretty hard, I'm not worried about it breaking now that it's on the roof and supported in 4 different places. I ended up squeegeeing out a lot of the resin when I was trying to get it flat, will definitely keep in mind the less resin tip next time! Thanks!
Dude is that a new Honda Ridgeline? I work for a Honda dealership and your truck looks awesome. Great work dude. Love your work. 😉
Love it! Replaced my Element that I had for 12 years, nothing will replace that but I'm seriously enjoying the new truck. Took a bunch of vans/trucks for test drives and it wasn't even a decision after trying out the RL. I'm planning on wrapping it in orange vinyl next year :)
Looks great, Paul. Nicely done. Excellent editing, as usual.
Great build and video Paul! 👍🏼👍🏼 also when you were shaking your truck when testing out the end caps, you reminded me of the one guy Richardson on the movie Hot Rod 🤣
Scarf joint, laminating, Total Boat, Thixo? I thought that Louis S. was back. Maybe it is time to build a palletwood boat in your backyard. Sort of like "acorn to shipping pallet to China, back to US, to Jackman"
THIS!! The world misses Louis! Us too!
Summer 2020, a Jackman boat is coming (no joke), get excited!!
So bada$$. Love the one of kind creativity.
Fantastic video and nice project 👍
My jaw dropped when you Spun the peace and it broke lol!
Pimp'n your ride JACKMAN style!
Absolutely love your videos! The plugs were a very clever fix and look so clean.
Sweet as heck!
Are you at all concerned it may break, like in the video, without something holding the wood together in the back?
With it mounted on the car, no not really. It took a pretty big hit to crack it like I did, so if something breaks it now it'll be something that's big enough it'll hurt my car too haha. I'm more worried about how it'll hold up to being in the elements 24/7 everyday
@@JackmanWorks Ah yeah, I hear ya. Well if you hit a moose at least it will appreciate the wind deflector as it's pulverizing the top of your car. 😉
Cool idea. Nice job!
Another super fun project and video Paul! The carbon fiber added such a nice touch! Haha if the trucks a rockin...
I need to play more with carbon fiber! This was the first, but won't be the last.
Looks so cool - glad it won't be the last!
Looks top notch, hope it has the strength needed over time, there's a lot of joints to fail. Maybe some fibreglass mat on the rear if it breaks (again!). Love the editing job, really is a pleasure to watch.
Me too! I'm super curious to see how it holds up to the elements
The problem with that in some countries is that they need to get an inspection before being allowed with that on the street.
Wow, I honestly never even thought about that being a thing.
Another brilliant build and execute. Just love to watch you work xxx
Is it possible to fall in love with how a video is edited? Because I swear it happens every time I watch a video!
Lovely work buddy, looks very cool on the new truck!
Thanks! It still isn't Jackman enough though ;)
I had to replace my element only because I needed to get three kids in the back. The element was great in every other aspect. Putting a car seat in wasn’t as easy as in a car with regular doors but car seat are a pain in general to put in.
The Element is the perfect car provided that you don't have any kids haha, I definitely wouldn't want to do that with kids especially with my older one that had the seat belts on the doors
The clamp spin break made me lol. 😂
I can lol watching it back, but definitely didn't in the moment 😂
Long live the Element!
It'll be missed!!
Looks good Paul! 👍😎
Awesome build man. Was your coaster video really a year ago? God damn where does the time go to, it seems like it was just like week or two ago that you posted that video.
Wow cool video. Can wait to see what you make next.
Je suis français et je regarde tes vidéos et elle sont vraiment très très bien !! J'adore 😍
Merci :)
Thats some pretty insanely good editing skills there man!
Fantastic vid! 😃👍
Thanks!!
The Element is gone! I just fixed the rear suspension arms on one. They were setting like stance nation.
How do you like the Ridgeline? It's appealing when the wife's Baja has to go.
So sad :( I had that thing for 12 years and it was incredible, just ended up having to do more work on it then I had time to keep up with so I had to move on. The Ridgeline is a worthy replacement though, it's the only truck I would ever consider buying and I'm thrilled with my choice, so much storage and it rides so nice. You'd love it as a replacement for the Baja, very similar but a lot bigger (the thing is 3' longer than the Element which I'm still getting used to haha)
@@JackmanWorks The newer/higher end Honda AWD system seems a big improvement too. Lots of cool stuff on the Ridgeline.
Definitely cooler than the stock one.
Awesome mate, thanks for continued refreshing ideas and excellent skills.
What rack system did you go with for your Ridgeline? I have a 2018 and would love functionality like that! Great videos man, so well done!
Yakima rack on the cab (same one from my Element) and Vantech ladder rack on the back. It's all modular so it can hold everything, I love the setup. I'm able to support like 12' total with that setup. Look for my Ridgeline pinned Instagram story for more details.
@@JackmanWorks just did, great story man! Have you looked into the rear door-stop hack? Basically order the door stops for the two front doors and install on the rear. Gain a lot more access
No joke, I actually bought those before I even picked up the truck from the dealer lol
It’s been soooo long since I’ve had my sexy jackman fix! So nice
Sexy Jackman time! Posted a video 2 weeks ago in case you missed it (and another one is coming next week!!)
Jackman Works two weeks is a long time!
True, true!
Another fine video! I got a kick out of the mixing montage 🤣 funny as usual keep up the awesome work dude👊🏽
I promise you'll think of that next time your mixing epoxy :)
You are the master editor! : ) So entertaining! That's a cool air deflector. Go TotalBoat! Mahalo for sharing. : )
4:45 Thixo is what they used to call me in High School
I hear they still call you that...
Very nice. Careful with that carbon fiber though, the dust can be really harmful if you arent wearing a respirator or cutting it in a water bath.
Yep! That's why you see me wearing my PowerCap respirator the whole time, not taking any chances. (same thing with the Corian too)
LOVE your videos! Such beauty and fun stuff evolve into awesome products created by you!!! Peace and Good Fortune to you and your family.
Looks great. How did the wood hold up in operation?
So far so good, did a ~400 roadtrip with it so far and it didn't even flinch, I'm curious to see how it holds up to the elements a year down the road.
@@JackmanWorks Let us know.
@@williamellis8993 will do! keep an eye on my Insta, I'll be sure to mention it there from time to time
Do you speed up your videos by a little bit? It sorta seems like it. Also, if you advertise something mid-video with those cool animations and bubbles, keep the text there a bit longer, I had to scroll back every time bc I didnt have time to read and then look what you were advertising! Other than that - those TotalBoat products seem incredible if they can hold such a delicate piece of wood together through the weather and wind! Great job to both of you!
Nope, no speeding up the clips, just lots of cuts. I'll keep that in mind to keep the bubbles up longer, thans!
gorgeous paul!
I know you are but what am I
Super awesome looking project Paul, keep up the good work! Also; I still don't see a problem using wet rags to remove glue
You're the worst lol
@@JackmanWorks Still not sure what the problem with it is, I just have too much glue there lol
@@kenmaira just start hosing off you projects instead hahaha
@@JackmanWorks Lemme grab my pressure washer
Very nice... Any editing software you use
Dude. This is creative and awesome. A-B-P Always be plugging. Ha! Love it!
#alwaysbeplugging! :)
The wind deflector looks awesome, and the end caps turned out great! 😃👍🏻👊🏻 ...... nice rack Paul!
Mitico, seguirti è un piacere.. grande
Another amazing video and project!
Thanks Phil!
Jackman Works ? Bru that god work ! =0
Need your help with a project...
That truck will never be Jackman enough - there isn't any orange on it.
Orange vinyl wrap coming summer of 2020! (no joke)
You're great and know wath you'll make!
Great video, as usual!
Wow! Did that make your truck faster? ;)
Not any faster, but it did increase my fuel efficiency 3x!
Как всегда - высший пилотаж !!!
humour et talent...j'adore !
big up
Now, don't forget to thoroughly mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, and scrape.
best part of the video....
Ok can I just buy one already! Geez that was one sexy peek into your skills! Ive never watched your channel before but wow what skill, in both the shop and who ever is at the computer editing.. Ya! 🤩 Ok where can one purchase one of these piece of arts.. 😉
Very Cool!!!
Spettacolo!!!
Me encantan tu videos, saludos desde CHile.
Great Jack 💯💯👏👏👏👏
Love it!!
Nice Rack... 2:03 made me do a double take as to what you were doing haha.
Great video but please leave your product bubbles up for a few seconds longer. I had pause and rewind for each as it was gone almost as soon as I noticed it there.
Will do!
"because they weren't sexy enough" is 80% of the reason I do things in my shop ;) the other 20% are too sexy, gotta mess 'em up a little. :P btw Paul, when does the new mix tape drop?
I consulted some doctors and they all agreed: This channel suffers from a very bad case of Acute Underrated-ness. The cure for it is to quadruple the subscriber amount. Get well soon.
In the meantime I'll just keep doing what I do, I'm enjoying it so far :)
Awesome. That’s what got all of us here! Cheers
Dope.
If you didn't get the Total Boat socks along with the shirst and vest...are you truly really even sponsored by Total Boat?
I'm still disappointed they don't have a belt to fit me along with socks too
I like the uncomfortable eye contact. Thank you...
It's something I can always provide
To make your own, just follow this simple 103 step process.
That describes my entire channel :)
"... just weren't sexy enough." --- Paul Jackman, making woodworking Sexy.
As usual :)
That's what my business cards say
Great upgrade video end caps always fall off
Now onto the next project to build yourself a real truck.
If this cars a Rockin', don't bother Knockin'.
l think you are just showing of your skills ,most of us are not going to have the high tech equipment wise guy !
At 1:30 it sounded like he was mad at me.
If you didn't mix your epoxy enough last time you used some, then I am mad at you!
All this work just to be replaced by a pallet wood veneered Tesla triangle on wheels.
Hey, I'll get 2 years out of this until the inevitable Pallet Cybertruck happens!
I was just thinking about doing something similar to this and then I see a new Jackman video pop up on my screen and it's this. Pretty awesome! #palletwoodlife :-D
Too cool!! I'd love to see your take on it to
Clever sod
Cool👍👍
He' pressing epoxy as he would wood glue but I've hear on other channels that epoy is different than wood: it shouldn't be pressed hard at all. Just contact, not pressure.
It depends. Clamping epoxy is generally totally fine, as long as you clamp it to the point of it starting to squeeze out. You don't want to apply so much pressure you squeeze all the glue out of the joint. Remember that more glue than needed in a joint does not make the joint stronger. If you just lay the pieces together the layer of glue inbetween the pieces will be thicker than if you clamp them together.
@@SwitchAndLever we make a THIXO called Thixo Gap for that very reason - it contains some microbeads to maintain the gap when gluing and to avoid squeezing it all out with clamping.
Correct, I used just enough pressure to hold everything together, but not squeeze all of the adhesive out. Also, the Corian has a rough and smooth side, so I made sure to have the rough side on the inside for both sheets so that the adhesive can get the best grab.
@@JackmanWorks Tanks, the number of clamps let me think that you'd use a lot of force but it was more a visual effect then :)
I'm sorry, but there wasn't enough pain and suffering in this video Paul. This one just seems way too straight forward and you even had to invent drama with that break :P j/k Great work as usual. Glad to see you are not torturing yourself (pencils) on this project!
Now what you didn't see what me working on those stupid pencils still between steps with all of the curing time on this project haha
👍 👏
Total Boat 👍
