    I work professionally with those two and I record a looot of music, the strat has that metallic low-end that is not suit for distorted genres except if you are going for a crushed john frusciante / red hot tone or strummed stuff. The neck pickups on the strat are immaculate, and that's another thing. Les Pauls are easier to mix in heavier rock, easier to place, and the tone is not metallic but really creamy even on the bridge pickups.

Almost all country stars use Fender Telecasters, almost all classic/easy rock use Stratocasters and most loud/hard rockers use Les Pauls. I myself go with a Strat hands down. Both of this guitars interact with a amp differently. For example a les paul would sound more cranked and muddy than a strat or a tele in the same settings. Strat are more thiner sounding, but les paul are more fatter sounding. I feel allthough you could dial in the tone and volume on this guitars. I feel its more work to dial in a good sound on a les paul than other guitars, but that would be easier with experience. I think strat or tele are more easier to manuever. I would recommend strat or tele for beginners. Les Paul are great. I own one. I have had Squier strat and Fender tele before. I also had a Squier Jazzmaster but I hated that the bridge went out of place. Great sound though.

    Also I don’t know why I searched this. Maybe cos I decided to pick up the strat and be like wtf is this, where is all the soul. But didn’t have time to pick my les paul and plug it in before going to work and had to really get this idea recorded. Anyway now I know why I got the shock, cos I almost never plug the strat in. It’s like a guitar which sits on a stand for me to plink when waiting for an advert or something.

      My question is how much difference in sound comes from LP versus just having the humbuckers? If I had a strat with humbucker in bridge would it sound the same?

  • @mikey222222
    @mikey222222 8 месяцев назад +1

    Both sound alike the difference is the player because the player has their own setup and style fender is what I play because less Paul are always priced way to high because all les Paul does is get more valuable with every year

    So what I hear, is it completely relies on the electronics.Both absolutely great guitars. Soundwise. so for me, it comes down to actual physical construction, in other words, how does it perform in my hands, action to my preference, pickups reactive to my commands. so hard to decide, I have an Epepie traditional III, should I have a Strat, to complement my collection? will a strat be as good? (Physical set up)

    Toyota v Honda, Peavey v Marshall, Gibson v Fender. Don’t think either is better. It’s what you feel fits you best cuz you’re the one playing it. I always felt ergonomically the Strat has too thin of a neck for me. The Paul fits me best.

    • @viniciuseduardobomfim
      @viniciuseduardobomfim 4 месяца назад +1

      *A few undeniable advantages for the Fender model is that the Stratocaster tends to be lighter and therefore much more comfortable to play for long hours. It's lines and curves just hug your body, wether you are skinny, chubby or muscular. Meanwhile the Gibson is a slab of wood, a heavy slab of wood. The Fender model is also much easier to maintain and modify, as this was by design when Leo Fender created it, decades ago, he wanted players to go out of their comfort zone and mod, experiment with their instruments.*
      Regarding the necks of both guitars. It's a toss up, some will prefer Fender's and some will prefer Gibson's, so that's a tie.
      *Tone wise, Les Pauls sport Humbucker Pickups which are pretty much noiseless, have a warm and velvety feel to their sound signature, with lots of bite and power, but on the other hand, these can get muddy easily.*
      Stratocasters come with Single Coil Pickups which are extremely crisp and detailed, these pickups also keep their signature clarity even when being distorted and overdriven. Problem is, Single Coils are noisy as hell and pretty much demand you to use Noise Gates. Once again, it's a tie, their sound signature will appeal to different people.
      *Some people will say Les Pauls are the essence of the Rock N' Roll, others will say Stratocasters are the true essence. Both arguments are wrong, because both guitars helped form and define the sound of rock, hard rock, jazz and blues. And while some might say Strats aren't meant for the metal genre, with the right pickups, amp and pedals, you can turn a Stratocaster into a Death Metal machine.*
      No real winner or loser, as long as you don't ask anyone biased. A fanboy will always be blind and put their preferences ahead of facts.

  • @kosmiche93

    Wow the clean tone on the Les Paul is so sweet. Both guitars are great.
    My Squier Jazzmaster falls somewhere in between those two in terms of tone, albeit retaining that fender-y twanginess.
