  • Every week or two I like to add some chicken or seafood into the mix. I had good luck with this technique on wings, so I decided to experiment with fried shrimp. This is an extremely simple method and they came out WONDERFUL! Enjoy!

Mitch, I made the pork rinds breaded wings you made the other day and I must say, "YUM YUM YUM!!" They were sooooo crispy. The only difference in my prep compared to yours was that I didn't have a 380 degree setting on my air fryer setting either 375 or 390 near the high range so I opted for the 390 x 15 min per side. PERFECTO!!! I can't wait to do the shrimps.

i'm gonna go get some shrimp tomorrow for this and pick up some scallops to try as well. I've done your wings twice and they are spectacular. I just love watching your presentation so don't go anywhere. I am a thin old guy just like you with super high cholesterol. I've never been healthier on a carnivore diet. I go to the gym twice a week and to yoga four times a week and it's hot yoga thanks for being there.... our best days are ahead of us.

Mitch, I love your videos. I've been eating trout patties breaded with pork rind crumbs for quite some time. Much tastier than bread crumbs. I also make my own pork rind crumbs by breaking up pork rinds by hand into a small container (or you can use a food processor). Much cheaper than buying pre-made pork rind crumbs. Keep up the good work! God bless!

I finally nailed the recipe and they were SO good and now I can't eat them! Lol! I'm excited to see how these turn out and then try them myself!

Just bought some more shrimps from Sam's today. Along with more smoked salmon; ya got me hooked on that stuff. Haven't bought coconut oil in a while, but I've been told it's gotten expensive. Bacon grease or lard is the way to go, IMO.
-I suspect that 2 min a side is too long for shrimp.- (You just said that.) Can't wait to try it this. Consider using that much bacon grease to deep-fry a well-seasoned, thick steak. You'll get an all-enveloping crust to die for. My best friend was skeptical about me cooking her steak that way... until she tried it. She's also starting keto this week with my encouragement and guidance (to include pointing her to Dr. Westman).

This is a great idea. I have an excess of bacon fat so I need to start frying in it just to use it up.
When I fry bacon I don't put the strips on paper towels. I put them on a layer of pork rinds on a plate. Surprisingly the pork rinds don't get greasy but they sure taste good.

I put a little aluminum foil in a bowl and then pour the grease into that. I sometimes put it in the freezer until trash day. We have bears and even though they can’t get into the bear-proof container, I don’t need them playing ‘kick the can’ with the trash receptacle…🤣

@@OldGuyCarnivore That way you can pour it while it’s still hot and add to it during the week if you fry other things. I thought I would use bacon grease to sauté veggies I might still be able to tolerate (I was plant based for over 35 years), but I just haven’t wanted any since I went carnivore. This recipe will at least give me a use for some of it!

Just did some porkrind coated shimp the other day. Use a salad spinner to dry the shrimp. Glad i kept it! The only useful thing about salad spinner. 😂

I like shrimp with carnivore crisp chicken flour. Pork panko and a sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan. It’s yummy on chicken too! It’s just meat and salt no grains. Cooking is a science and you are brave to try untested recipes on utube! 9:02

I don't worry about a small amount used in curing as long as there are 0 carbs per serving

Do you ever save money and grind up your own pork rinds in a food processor? Or does it save money?

    • @OldGuyCarnivore
      @OldGuyCarnivore  11 месяцев назад +1

It doesn't save money. Pork rinds are mostly air and a bagfull doesn't give you a lot.

Looks so tasty. We call them prawns here. 🍤 Shrimp are tiny. Might need an alternative to the pork panko. My country’s a bit behind the times. 🇦🇺 🍤

In the US, prawns are what we call fresh water shrimp. Shrimp is from the sea or ocean.

lose the bags and just dip into the eggs in a bowl then press your shrimp into the pork rind crumbs they stick better that way can even add extra to top and press onto them ... just use the tails as handle and you can avoid getting hands messy for the whole route.
