Epic? Let me tell you this story. It happens in Road Rash 3 though. Somewhere in level 3 was a real baaaaaad race - in first four miles i crsh into things way too much - my bike was one hit from exploding after that. So i concentrated hard on road, somehow take first place and a very big lead. Only to crash into something - don't remember what it was. Probably a tree. So now bike was totaly usless. I thought "To hell with that", and run towards finish line. Checking rearview mirrors i see №2 close up on me, but still finished first. Laughed so hard after this :D
OMG one of the funniest RR2 endings ever! My personal favorite is when I finished the race successfully, my character is cheering along with all the other racers just past the finish line and as the camera pulls back, a car comes cruising down the road and wipes everybody out! It was hilarious.
I am so glad that I found this channel. You do an excellent job and bring back so many memories for me. Please keep up the good work. Others could learn from your example.
There's now a MSU-MD hack of the game that adds CD quality audio & is absolutely sublime! It can be used on the Mega Everdrive Pro, Mega SD or various emulators. The music is simply fantastic, far better than the stock stuff, and it has the added benefit of allowing for the motorcycle engine noise to play with the music which wasn't possible before without turning off the music completely! Absolutely worth checking out for any and all Road Rash fans!
I think this was my only Genesis game. But boy was this game a blast! Similar to Castlevania IV intro music, Road Rash II's title music got me pumped up to get on the road and kick ass. Being able to pick different states to race in each with their unique scenery, make the experience feel all the more real. Each of your opponents has their own personality, with different strengths and weaknesses. I love games which notice the little things. This is so true in Road Rash II. You can knock competitors into obstacles. You can beat up cops. Your can launch off hills flying through the air. You can run over people. The obstacles are appropriate for each state. Heck even the bikes keep going forward, after someone's been knocked off. This game is just too humorous. Me and my friend loved mimicking and making fun of video game sound effects like Street Fighter's Hadoken. We'd make up stupid phrases screaming All You Can, Coming Thru, and Hadoken. So naturally when we discovered the Road Rash dude wrecking and flying through the air like superman and screaming olioliolahhh we had to add that to our idiotic phraseology. Its also funny watching your dude trying to get on his broken bike and having it blow up, then watching him fly through the air screaming. This game may seem like just mindless fun, but there is actually some strategy to it. Like when should I upgrade my bike? Do I go with the next cheapest bike or should I wait and risk it getting an even better bike? If I do get an improved bike, do I have enough ability to handle it correctly? Yes the faster a bike you get the less competitors you'll deal with, but the more challenging the course will be. There is always a trade off in this game. So yeah, this a game which looks simple, but is actually quite complex and fun.
I'll never forget this game playing it on my megadrive as a kid. I'd rush home from school just wanting to play it constantly. Still when I think what's my top five games I've ever played this is easily in that list for nostalgic reasons
Hello CGR AKA Lord Karnage (!!!) I've just discovered your channel, but I'm now subbed and making my way through your Genesis playlist (looking for some inspiration as I've just got set up with all the old retro emulators. I'm really liking your videos, and complete respect for keeping this up for well over a decade. But I keep thinking I've heard your voice before; are you by any chance Taofledermaus??
It's funny how the player and the bike seem to be connected by an invisible wire: If you run away from the bike, either backwards or forwards, the bike follows, dragging itself across the landscape.
Love to see reviews of Road Rash 3 for Genesis and Road Rash 3D on the Playstation 1 Your Reviews are great and LOVE the Road Rash Series and Strike Series on the Genny
ahhh the memories this review gave me of when i used to play road rash with my brother and my cousin. I wish I could get a genesis and get road rash 1. I used to think it looked amazing but now i still think its awesome. I always remember trying to get a club or chain from one of the police.
I can't believe the cops put you in the trunk of the squad car! LOL! And WOW! ... winning the race by being THROWN off your bike and across the finish line ... classic!! LOL!
I actually love the music in this game, it helps make the game even wackier. And that is awesome. The only thing funnier than bike racers at fast speeds whacking each other with nunchaku, chains and billyclubs is if there's a cartoony "calm, cheerful Sunday drive" musical piece in the background. XD
Love, love, LOOOOOOVVVVEEEE Road Rash 2, one of my favourite Megadrive games ever. My two favourite things to do in Road Rash... 1) Hit a hill just right to get some air and bounce off the roof of a car you were sure you would hit. 2) Run over a guy when he's trying to run back to his bike. Ahhhhh, needs a remake badly.
I played one of the Road rash games on the PC. I loved to forcing the police and the other racers into passing cars =D. It's probably one of my all time favorite racing games.
This game falls into my top 10 bets of ALL time. True Story: When this game first came out I went to my local blockbuster to rent it, found a copy, put the cartridge labeled " Road Rash II and when the Genesis started up, it was MADDEN!!!! FUCKING MADDEN!!!!! I almost cried since that was their only copy.
i found road rash in my closet the other day and the whole time i was playing it i could just hear this guy talking in my head saying how awesome it was haha. this review was inevitable for classic game room.
Just saw the ending. Agreed. Great way to end the review. I've been thrown off the bike and flown Superman style over the finish line a couple times. But, to play pinball like that was awesome. My favorite memory of this game series was a super rare glitch. Had a cop on my tail. Go running into a car. We both crash and burn. The engine just pans out, out, out as it can't determine if I lost via being arrested or via wrecking the bike. Wish I had video of that.
great finish!! Looks like a cool game. Dude, That guy rolled and tumbled to the finish line! Something that would happen in Looney tunes! Awesome!! Great review!!
Was hooked on this for couple of years and finally kicked habit. Better quit viewing cause feeling addiction coming back! One of the truly great games ever!!!
I rented Road Rash for the Sega Saturn way back when with my cousin. We played it for 22 hours straight. I've always liked the Road Rash series and agree that it's time for an updated version.
The 32bit versions are the best PS, PC, or my personal favorite 3DO. You should check them out if you haven't, but avoid Road Rash 3D for PS. RR2 is the best for Genesis though. Great Review!!!
This was definitely a game I was hoping Mark would get to some day and I'm glad he finally did. I loved Road Rash II. Road Rash 3D was actually pretty awesome, but there was more straight ahead racing than rashing, it was still great fun though.
I usually agree with Mark on these reviews, but saying the music is not that great for a Genesis game? Road Rash II as well as the other Road Rash games always had memorable 16 bit music... Its one of the main reasons I still play these Road Rash games today!
Road Rash for the 3DO was SOOOOO good! It had great graphics, hilarious live action cutscenes of police cars running over drivers, and it had a great soundtrack by Soundgarden!
As seen past 6:30 when the Wild Thing 2000 is unlocked; this was always my biggest gripe with the Genesis line of Road Rash'es. You MUST get the very powerful bikes to keep up with the pack. And, they grow so powerful that they're both fragile and darn near impossible to keep under control. Plus, buying them would usually wipe my budget out to afford repairs. Otherwise...these games are pure awesome! They have AI opponents that may race or chose to fight. You have allies NOT to fight. Etc.
ive been suggesting the snes top gear games (at least the first two ones) for a while now, it would be awesome to see a review of those, also, congos caper, that one was very good too.....
This game is why I now have a 2006 Yamaha R6.
...True story.
I can relate: My friend really enjoyed this game. He bought a Chinese Honda Cs1 clone, I credit the game for that
That ending was epic, definitely one in a million. Fracking hilarious.
Epic? Let me tell you this story.
It happens in Road Rash 3 though.

OMG, I used to play this game for hours, when I was in hs. what an awesome game. never got bored.
High school??? I was like 6 when I was playing this game haha... and I’m in my 20s😂
12 years ago I gave the name "Lawson" to my cat (that still live with me) because at first levels in Road Rash II Lawson always won me
I am so glad that I found this channel. You do an excellent job and bring back so many memories for me. Please keep up the good work. Others could learn from your example.

That has got to be the single greatest ending sequence in existance.
I'll never forget this game playing it on my megadrive as a kid. I'd rush home from school just wanting to play it constantly. Still when I think what's my top five games I've ever played this is easily in that list for nostalgic reasons
Road Rash 64 was def my favorite, i remember playing that with my buddy for hours on end back in the day.
id love a modern version of this, great game
the game is actually harder with the wild thing no joke
The crazy wild driving at the end followed by the awesome bikeless finish wins this. Wins this so hard.
That's the first noticeable glitch I ever saw in your review. Great review and funny ending.
rr2 is better than 1 & 3
Damn straight
OMG!!!! I remember playing this back in the day! So freaking fun!
This game is why I'm buying a Sega Genesis today.
Hope you got good quality at good prices! U just picked up a cart of RRII for $10 in perfect condition!
YES! This is the shit MAN, played this as a child, ride a bike for real now and the only thing missing's the chain!!!! BADASS GAME
I loved this game, so many hours playing it. miss them days
I loved Road Rash so much back in the day. I owned Road Rash 3 and played it all the time. These would be a great addition to Virtual Console
I loved playing this as a kid so many memories
that ending was the reason I loved this game when I was a kid. The random shit that happened was awesome.
Literally one of my favorite games growing up
never saw this video until today... amazing ending. CLASSIC classic game room
That ending is absurd. Well done. I put so many hours into this game.
Thanks for taking me back to the past! This was one of my all-time favorite games from the 16-bit era.
Nice review! Which game do you like better : Road Rash 2 or 3? And for what reasons?
Hold down Up, C, A and start at the title screen then release. If you hear the YEAH! you'll start with the wild thing 2000.
the very first videogame ive ever played on the genesis
Hello CGR AKA Lord Karnage (!!!) One of my favorite Genesis games. I played this one all the time.
Love to see reviews of Road Rash 3 for Genesis and Road Rash 3D on the Playstation 1
Your Reviews are great and LOVE the Road Rash Series and Strike Series on the Genny
ahhhh, so many memories of kicking my brother's bike into an oncoming car.
ahhh the memories this review gave me of when i used to play road rash with my brother and my cousin. I wish I could get a genesis and get road rash 1. I used to think it looked amazing but now i still think its awesome. I always remember trying to get a club or chain from one of the police.
Dat ending :o nice one! & yeah, awesome game.
That ending was hilarious and this game is epic.
I can't believe the cops put you in the trunk of the squad car! LOL! And WOW! ... winning the race by being THROWN off your bike and across the finish line ... classic!! LOL!
Bought this game at a pawn store the other day, fucking awesome. It brought back many childhood memories, and it was just as fun as I remembered.
I actually love the music in this game, it helps make the game even wackier. And that is awesome. 11 years too late but yeah I loved this as a kid! Playing it now on my newly acquired SEGA mini.
@vivelecorn which road rash was the best on the genesis, 1 2 or 3?
LOL nothing like cracking a few skulls to get the day started! I had a lot of fun playing this game back in the day.
I remember you can run over pedestrians and actually hit buildings which is hilarious. Cut scenes were awesome too.
I love the music in these games :D
I need advice. How can I get this video quality? What would you recommend?
I played this one to death back upon it's release in 92, one of the handful of keepers for my Megadrive, still own it too!
Only a handful of keepers? The Genesis has dozens and dozens of keepers.
Okay, I see one of these on every level, and I must ask do you have any idea what the building at 6:34 is?
This brings back so many fond memories.......
I played one of the Road rash games on the PC. I loved to forcing the police and the other racers into passing cars =D. It's probably one of my all time favorite racing games.
This game falls into my top 10 bets of ALL time.

Oh sweet! Where can I get one? I've been looking for a 6-button controller for my PC and PS3 so I can play Street Fighter and stuff like that
The ending was just pure AWESOME!!!!
Good to see you finally got around to doing this! First one is better btw :)
Oh man. My brother and I spent many days playing this game. The best game for the Genesis.
You have to time your punch to their swipe to take their weapons. Great game. Played it non-stop as a kid
i found road rash in my closet the other day and the whole time i was playing it i could just hear this guy talking in my head saying how awesome it was haha. this review was inevitable for classic game room.

One of my fav games ever on the Sega Mega Drive. I like 1, 2 and 3 pure quality.
That is the funniest review i've ever seen, what a way to win that last race :D awesome
That ending was SICK - literally.
YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!
i remember playing this game for hours straight with my brother.... ahhh good times
that's how the pros do it, huh? Bite me.
lol great vid! you have a new fan
Oh god, I remember getting catapulted across the finish line from Road Rash 2. That is awesome.
This is my favourite RUclips subscription.
I remembered playing this game for the PC. It had live action cut scenes.
Bring back old memories!Love this game!
great finish!!
That ending was awesome well done
I rented Road Rash for the Sega Saturn way back when with my cousin. We played it for 22 hours straight. I've always liked the Road Rash series and agree that it's time for an updated version.
i can remember playing the PS1 version of this game!! and i absolutely played the crap out of it!
i still even got it after so many years.
they did keep making road rash for a few generations. would love to see it come back
Now this is awesome! 6 to 7 SEGA Genesis games featured in 1 week! and to top it all off, a great ending!
Ah! I am content! :)
one of my favorite games, this game was my childhood
The 32bit versions are the best PS, PC, or my personal favorite 3DO. You should check them out if you haven't, but avoid Road Rash 3D for PS. RR2 is the best for Genesis though. Great Review!!!
this & EA hockey are still my all time favorite games
Great game and possibly the best theme music ever! A classic.
Greatest finish ever, at the end!
That's a sense of humor you don't find in many games nowadays, eh?
This was definitely a game I was hoping Mark would get to some day and I'm glad he finally did. I loved Road Rash II.
Road Rash 3D was actually pretty awesome, but there was more straight ahead racing than rashing, it was still great fun though.
OMG!!! THE NOSTALGIA!! I loved this.
But my SEGA doesnt work anymore :C
Love that ending, I have road rash 3 and it kicks ass
I usually agree with Mark on these reviews, but saying the music is not that great for a Genesis game? Road Rash II as well as the other Road Rash games always had memorable 16 bit music... Its one of the main reasons I still play these Road Rash games today!
“After I hit that guy, I’m pretty sure he was knocked off balance and smashed by a car”.
This is what makes road rash fucking awesome.
Another awesome review of an awesome game.
Dude how about the version on the 3DO or the sega saturn?
I remember I went past the finish line flying so many times lol
The best was hitting something at full speed at the top of a hill and flying for like half a mile.
Road Rash for the 3DO was SOOOOO good! It had great graphics, hilarious live action cutscenes of police cars running over drivers, and it had a great soundtrack by Soundgarden!
The ending to this video is.....one in a million, to say the least.
As seen past 6:30 when the Wild Thing 2000 is unlocked; this was always my biggest gripe with the Genesis line of Road Rash'es. You MUST get the very powerful bikes to keep up with the pack. Road Rash with the Need For Speed: Shift engine? Man, that would be LEGENDARY!
Haha dam hilarious game right here! Just got it boxed.
Elliott Knighves do boxed collectors have smaller weiners?
Played all of the games in the series and II is easily the best imho.
BEST GAME EVER
This word is overused on the internet, but I can safely say it fits the bill here. The ending to this video was EPIC.
Yet another fantastic franchise EA is sitting on doing absolutely nothing with.
ive been suggesting the snes top gear games (at least the first two ones) for a while now, it would be awesome to see a review of those, also, congos caper, that one was very good too.....
