The only good thing about the VS fashion show at NY fashion week was the adaptive line. We need more clothes like this out in the world for disabled people like myself! :)
About 40% of female models aren't.
That's why I stated that more adaptive clothes/shoes need to be made. Personally, it cost me $100 just for one pair of shoes that go over my leg braces.

Fashion used to be an art. Beautiful complex poetic. I’m really sad we can’t go back. I LOVE interpretive art, this is just weird and honestly the prank looks have more heart behind them
if you run the thing again and again and again presumably until the end of time, you're going to have 1) repeat yourself 2) make peace with becoming pointlessly outlandish or 3) cancel the thing some years because no one had any ideas. At some point, they're going to run out of ideas that haven't been done already and aren't "make outfits out of human skin".

It is time to turn back the clock and bring back a bit of tradition into these styles.
Bring a new version of the 3-piece suit, an extravagant sundress, introduce some regal aesthetics to casual wear.
We’ve gotten to the point in fashion where a man could wear an upside-down Georgian ball-gown made out of fried chicken and paperback copies of The Hobbit and be called beautiful.

Regarding the PETA chick wearing body paint, I had no clue that is what happened. Fashion is just so bad that I dismissed it as normal "up-scale" stupidity.
I'm a fashion designer, i was born with that talent and majoring in fashion design. This ugly fashion trend started years ago & i noticed it, then i was questioning my own taste in fashion, i was like "Am i the problem? Maybe i'm not fashionable or artistic enough to understand this? But no way, i'm confident enough in my talent, i won designer competitions, etc"...
I keep pay attention and finally everyone notice this is a problem in fashion industry nowadays

The problem started when dress codes became relaxed. When I watch a TV show from the 60s or the 70s, I'm reminded of how beautifully people dressed and took pride in their appearance. The U.S. has become a nation of slobs so who cares about fashion? It's a shame.

I used to watch these shows just for the pretty women. After awhile, I started acting like a judge and judging whether they look good in the outfit they were wearing. Most do. Then peg legs, 350 lb women, outfits I wouldn't give to a homeless person. But the one thing I have noticed, at beach parties, Hollywood events, red carpets, movie viewings and sporting events. No one, not rich folks, not super elitist folks and not people dressed to impress, EVER wear this stuff they show. Not a one. Do these things actually get sold or are they collecting dust in some warehouse?

NYFW is a inside joke between all designers. (Well it started that way, there's always some that will ruin the joke taking things seriously.) Everybody wants to be unique, standout, in a world where there really is no such thing. And so the designers chuckle and say well if you want to stand out, wear this... Trust me you'll get your 5 minutes in the spotlight. The ironic thing is, quite often, the rich and famous. Just want to blend into the crowd and vanish.
Loved how Brett's designer but her in a pretty, historical looking blouse that looked like it could have been a corset cover when she was talking about the craziness of modern fashion.

@@idorus Sad thing is this girl came into my school, and there’s this trans boy who transitioned really young, but he doesn’t make it public he’s trans and acts like a normal boy. Anyways the new girl had a crush on him and her friends had to tell her that “he’s” a girl. Another thing is my brother is joining me in middle school and asked my mom “What if i like someone that’s trans and is actually a boy?” It’s insane these days.

As someone who has battled insecurities and had a - modest - modeling career, I just wanna say to anyone who's ever been a victim of bullying / hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: 'maybe if I wasn't 'different', if I was 'normal' I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something to pray upon. I've always had kinda androgynous look, which was a fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)
Beware of toxic people who can see your potential and value but will keep and drag you down with intent and hideus determination. They do it out of jealousy, they don't want to see us happy or sucessful. They want us docile so we can be manipulated.
