- Martin Howe KC says a ruling that the Rwanda deportation law should not apply to Northern Ireland “could lead to an influx of Channel migrants”.
A judge has ruled that provisions of the UK’s Illegal Migration Act should be disapplied in Northern Ireland, as they undermine human rights protections guaranteed in the region under post-Brexit arrangements.
Mr Justice Humphreys also said aspects of the Act were incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak vowed to appeal over the ruling and insisted the court judgment will not derail or delay his Rwanda scheme.
Martin says: “The Northern Ireland protocol means foreign laws controlled by foreign courts apply to part of the UK!"

Asylum seekers, should not be given permanant citizenship status, for a long time.
They are not asylum seekers, the correct term is economic migrants. Genuine asylum applicants seek asylum in the first safe country they reach. They do not go on a shopping expedition, looking for the best 'bargain', which is often soft touch Blighty. Further, how interesting that the overwhelming majority of those arriving on our shores are young men. Compare that with, say, the Ukrainians, most of whom have been women and children.
Migrants should Not be treated by free houses, and businesses should not be getting paid to employ them from TAXES off our people,if they come they find work and accommodation, the way we all did when we went away to work. All this freeloading must stop. See how many want to come then.
Blame Phoenix Law who brought the case and blame their sponsers the Dublin Government...
We won't stand for it. 💪
I agree, they are incompetent. There again they fell for the Sinn Fein threat 'they haven't gone away,' meaning the elderly IRA many of whom were bought years ago, to allow open borders on the island. They should have called the EU and Sinn Fein bluff and told them to set up the border controls on the Republic side and let Northern Ireland be a proper part of the UK of GB and Northern Ireland.
And where would uk have put its customs and standard check posts?
I'm Nationalist I agree with you,but we NEED both communities need to stand together on this. So please this is important to our country that we don't allow us to be divided..Call on both sides to Demonstrate against this.
Blair should NEVER have given terrorists exactly what they wanted. He totally sold out to them and released convicted mass murderers. Sorry that price was far too high and instead of blowing everyone up, the IRA has caused huge trouble using politics instead.
But just to note Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU overwhelmingly, and they voted to remain as part of the UK, so they got what they wanted.
That boarder won't stop anyone crossing there are about 28 crossings. It can be stopped if the Irish government wanted it .
Ireland for the IRISH
The ECHR is not a foreign court. It is our rights that this right wing wont ride off. Yes your rights.
Sunak wants em here............Full stop.
That’s one way to swamp Northern Ireland
Isn't it weird that Brexiteers never saw any of these consequences?
Here we go again ...ladies elders you need to keep the kids safe ... evacuate i think...no action happening 💕🇬🇧✝️
This affects both sides of our counties in this land, So please STAND TOGETHER BOTH SIDES OF POLITIC VIEW POINT.
It's a mistake to imagine the north of Ireland as being the same as Yorkshire, it is at best 45% British, and that number is dwindling. This is yet more proof that a United Ireland is in the best interests of everyone, financially, ,politically, and historically. The minority in NI are now the Unionists. In the event of a united Ireland, the most loyal NI Britishers will relocate to GB, and bolster the Union there. Everybody s a winner.
And thus give in to what the IRA murdered all those people for. Well Blair gave in to them already so why not?
It might be United by word but control under EU WGP. that's not self determination. Plus the south has lost it sovereign powers to the above. NO THANK YOU
The very fact that SF is calling for a United Ireland, is to lick the ass of EU WGP.
Howe was saying interesting things but JHB kept interrupting him! What's the point of having a guest like Howe if you're not going to listen?
Soldiers - by the time you get it it will be too late julia
Can someone tell me how people who have thrown away their ID's, are getting on boats and planes to Belfast ?
What can your government do now ?
Inform these religious extremists that the Ulsterman has no problem in dealing with them if and when they step out of line.
We might be British but we are not the English..
Tories need to ditch the wets and form electoral pact with Reform to share out seats and put leaving the ECHR to the people.
Still toast
Why is this boy not with family
The playback speed option was created because of people like him.
Well Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU so tough to be honest.
It is time to get out of Ireland England,
I agree,
Where is 'Ireland England' though...?
Bet you or one of yours works for English company, silly remark, We need to get RID o WGP. Don't forget you are offending alot of expats 2nd 3rd generation Irish who live in England.
Has UK 🇬🇧 left the EU 😮
In part, EU is WGP so we are stuck in some treaties or pacts.only way to get this evil stopped is to bring it all tumbling down. Need both sides off our communities to stand together in this,as our political figures both sides are for EU WGP they all have been bought.
Hmm 16, yeah ok
Uk is not united anymore
International courts with International laws. Not foreign courts with foreign laws. And this is the chairman of Lawyers for Britain? He cannot even see the difference.
International courts, by definition, are not domestic courts.
@@drew699 But they are not foreign courts.
