To Russian producer Alexander Popov, there's much more on the horizon than that big, warm globe of fire. With his new beat-beauty 'When The Sun', he once again proves to be able to capture the senses and tingle our world.
Throughout the course of 5 years, Alexander Popov has worked himself up as one of EDM's 'names to watch out for'. 'Everest', 'Revolution In You' and his latest tune 'Elegia', as well as remixes for Armin van Buuren, Susana and M6, have made his sound a sound well-treasured. 'When The Sun' is next in line to build him a solid discography.
But most of all, to indulge the masses. This light-hearted rocktronica bit of prog-trance easily gets under your skin. Its contagious vocals and easy melodic flow will get stuck in your mind in no time!
The Eximinds remix, slightly more club-charged than the original, rocks Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance 2012 compilation. Need we say more?

RIP Liv Carlson, vocalist on this track. I was with her when we went back to her birth place in Greenland when she wrote the lyrics to this beautiful song. The song is about living so far North where she grew up, how half of the year is in night and half is in lots of daylight. Liv herself was born in December during the polar night in Upernavik, Greenland, and she moved here to the UK in 1990 at age 9. I miss you my friend, and will forever thank Alexander Popov and Armada for allowing Liv to do this song, which meant so much to her. Friends to the end, Liv!

Any speakers of Armenian, Russian, or Ukrainian, or whichever language this is, can you confirm accuracy of translation please? AI says "I always thought that the vocals were performed by Kate Walsh because the vocals sound exactly like hers."
If that is the correct translation, then our friend here is incorrect. Kate Walsh is from Southern England, and has no connection to the North, as opposed to Liv.
I was with Liv when she wrote these lyrics for this song. Her and I were close friends.

Anyway, the song talks about life so far north, where you will experience 24 hour darkness in december, yet 24 hour daylight in June. Liv wrote this to highlight just how amazing it is, as most of the world does not experience such a phenomenon. She was raised in Northern Greenland for a time (born in Northern Greenland but moved to England before her teens).
After 10 years, this is still one of my favorite songs, I don't know how many good memories this song brings me.

10 yrs back when this song came out. I was living my best life in college. Doing my own side hustle, making money. Life was simple. 10 yrs fast forward, now am at a job which pays just enough to have a comfortable life but no happiness. How time flies :'(
