To summarize Dave and Ricks bond throughout this season: "I've only known this engine for about a year, but if anything were to happen to him i would kill everyone in the room and then myself"
This episode has to be my favourite thus far. Seeing that Clint and Alfred survived into preservation was a real treat. Dave's father like relationship with Rick is wholesome as hell. The whole revealation scene of Big Bob's true self to the others by the Dexby loco was perfect. I love this series and it's characters, can't wait to see more!
This series is amazing! This is how you do a story with locomotives who have feelings like humans(love for one another, having a father and son relationship etc) It feels natural and it gives these characters more personality and depth!
The writing for this episode was pristine. I’ve been watching for years now, and this has honestly been the most touching episode so far. This dynamic is going to grow, and I am honestly excited to see how Hannah steps into a motherly role.
To be honest this must be the best episode of the series so far! I absolutely love that alfredston Cathedral arrived on the dark railway along with that dexp engine ( don't know how to spell the word properly) and Clint. I don't know Clint that very well but he does seem like an old and Wise sage. I also love the conflict in this episode because it feels natural. it was bound to happen eventually. but in the end I think it was very mature of Rick to come back to the sheds and sort everything out. I also love that dave practically admitted that he is Rick's Dad. The two of them have such a wholesome dynamic. although I don't know if Hannah is ready to be a mother? but we will just have to wait and see what her dynamic with Rick will be. anyway a million out of 10 is my rating for this episode.
THAT'S MY BOY!!!... too much? that bit had me in stitches, great episode. So what's Hannah's responce going to be when she finds out she's now a mum? XD
God, all the references to the other shows! 'Light railway' *has some of the heaviest engines in all of Britain run on it, even doubleheading a few times* *Dave parenting moment* Cederwood and Client doubleheader? Sounds fun. Anyway, can we get a video of Alfred and Rick on Upway Bank with the soundshow?
An amazing episode. I absolutely love it . Seeing Clint and Alfred was an awesome treat. Nice to see Mr. Stard and Robert Stovell have managed to keep their fleets. Once I herd a Dexby engine was visiting I was hoping for Wyven but Cederwood was great in his appearance. Gotta love those Dexby locos a crazy but unified bunch as Bexford said. Nice to that Mr. Dexby is still going strong. I wonder if Lord Stovell is retired like Mr. Dark and hopefully he a d Robert have managed come to similar points of view. Well done to all involved.
I really do enjoy the audio balancing for when the engines are moving along different parts of the screen, don't think anyone has mentioned this before
so I think I can see the family dynamic that we have here, Dave the father, stan the uncle, rick the son, and Hannah the mother, so fingers crossed, I've got that right.
You always know how to make me come close to tears in a Rick episode, it was so sweet seeing the bond between Dave and Rick, with both humour and deep moments, such good writing on your part. Another thing is, i love how despite being your own series set on your own railway, being able to expand of the rest of the TDRS universe, with a history expansion on Alfred and Clint aswell as another Dexby engine appearing, the 4th to appear in a series so far? Hammond, Wyvern, Bexford and Cedarwood? It just nice to be able to see that, seeing Samarinian Railways on Alfred was a real surprise. And seeing continuations of those characters, just such a treat
Tbh when i heard zeak (idk if thats the correct spelling) speaking of someone named Henry, i thought he was talking about DDJP's take on NWR no.3 "Henry the Atlantic" since "Gordon the Raven A2" made a appearance in TDRS a while back
I'm genuinely sorry I missed the Premier, the relationship we all knew was there between Rick and Dave was explained in a beautiful way, and I applaud it. I can't wait to see Hannah see how her significant other has grown to become, and hope she comes to see Rick as a son as well
This was such a sweet episode! I am growing to really like Rick! He might be one of my favorites, taking it from Hannah. He is such a sweet engine and I am excited to see more of him.
Somehow, this season has the ability to predict itself. Episode six predicted episode seven which predicted this episode. Scary to think about isn't it?
@@frantasramota1359 my dear lad, thats no cathedral tender- as it isn't a Hawksworth- but instead a Collet which probably means that a certain 'Hannington Hall may be returning to service......
Wait! Isn’t this the episode where we will see Earl Marischal the Gresley P2?! I remember something from the DR Modern Day livestream saying that a P2 was going to visit the DR and the Mikado in question would be Earl Marischal. Just a shame that it ain’t 2001 because if it were I would love to see the engines making jokes about his name.
Oh. *Stares into the screen with dissatisfaction* Well, if Caledonia Works would just get to work on their P2 along with adding the NBR F Class 0-6-0T, the HR Yankee Tanks, the Metropolitan A Class, the GNR *Small Boiler* C1, the G&SWR 5, 540, 403, and 101 classes, the GWR Saint in 4-6-0 form, the GWR Castles, the NER 901 Class, and an assortment of other locomotive classes that I can’t list down all at once into Train Simulator then maybe you could throw in Earl Marischal (or 2001 so the DR engines could mock his name) into TDRS as a gala visitor.

Dave being a sort of father to Rick and saying THAT'S MY BOY
Just amazing
What a stunner of an ep
Let's just hope Hannah is okay with signing the adoption papers for Rick. Happy Family 😂

Just imagine if it was Hannah instead of Dave. In my personal experience, papa bear may threaten you, mama will just maul you
If Dave is Rick’s dad, would that technically make Hannah Rick’s mom and Stan Rick’s uncle?
You have right

It’s interesting that Dave and Rick Are staying in the society’s old shed at the start
the dark railway series just keeps getting better!
Now clint was an unexpected surprise to this gala.
First wyvern and now cederwood, dexby engines sure can be crazy.
Becksford: our fleet is huge diverse and crazy.
Hammond was a bit odd too
Cant wait for the episode where Dave goes to get milk
