    The formula is 2^(n-1) + 2^(n÷2-1).. so applying n=2 we get 3 optical isomers[1dextro 1 leavo and 1 meso form(compound)]. See it for urself cuz sir too has drawn only 3 isomers on the board but wrote 4( which i think is probably wrong).

    Tartaric acid has actually 3 optical isomers not 4. Tartaric acid molecule is symmetric and has 2(even no.) stereocenters( assymetric carbon).. so formula for finding optical isomers is not 2^n.

    Sir Apne JB Meso form btaya toh usme vo 2*n formula apply nhi ho paya tha. Toh sir check krne ki jrurt thodi apply Hoga ya ni..coz JB both side same groups then this formula not apply! I m ryt🤔

      @harsh chauhan in last video example there are ch3 and c2h5 which r not equal when divided but here in tartaric acid it has cooh on both sides so it is equal,i think it helped u : )
