    Even in the darkest hours of the war the United kingdom still had taken in her allies soilders to the safety of her own shores. She cloved, armed, and housed the Free armes and navies of the French, Polish, Belgians, Dutch, Greeks, Czechoslovakians, Yugoslavians, Norwegians, Danish, Luxembourgers, Albanian, and even the royal Italian armies. And remember that the British empire freed most of western Europe long before the channel islands

      Poland got a bill after the war for the equipment which the Polish soldiers have used to defend Britains freedom and after the war they were not allowed to participate in the victory parade.

    What about Narvik, Norway? The allies left without a word of warning, both British and French soldiers

      Yes, there is that, I decided not to include it as I thought it was outside of the focus time frame of Post-Dunkirk. However, that does open up space for a pt.2 arguing the opposing view.

    You make your point well, and no reasonable man would disagree, given what was known and believed at the time.
    That doesn’t mean that the Brit-bashers won’t show up.

    I am not aware there was this misconception. I am appalled. In the netherlands i never came across this. The dutch have much more to be ashamed off
