Love to see double headers working. Can someone please explain just how it works, these magnificent machines were way before any form of electronic servo control so how did the engineers get both engines pulling with equal power?
It was purely a case of experience and knowing the machine, in the case of this double header i spoke to the drivers and they had the frontmost engine doing the bulk of the work with the trailing engine just running enough traction to keep the internals lubricated and the engine running light.
