I can actually see that working for a blue lock character. Imagine an opponent who is so good at hiding his presence he’s able to score or pass without anybody even noticing he’s there. A similar character trope was used in Kukuros basketball and it was sort of op at times bc people couldn’t stop what they couldn’t see. It could also have a cool name like ghost or shadow awakening

but I don't think that ranking was too far from the truth though. isagi in the beginning not only didn't have much technique or physique but he had just been eliminated from the tournament for not being selfish enough. (Of course, you have to consider that being better is relative and difficult to categorize correctly)
the guys from nagi's team who were at the top of the rankings in that group and were really the best and only lost one match.
I think Barou wasn't higher in the ranking because his uncontrolled selfishness ended up generating a negative effect as we saw in the 3x3.
I think the only big lie in the first ranking is that the ego told all groups that they were the worst, but I think that among the groups themselves the ranking was correct

he got past the first stage of the rivalry test where u had to score 100 goals in under 90 minutes and igaguri somehow did, so its safe to say its both a comic relief moment and he has talent. its a shame really i wish naruhaya stayed and he went bc generally that would be better

Thats what i thought too, but remember that match, gagamaru had axtually praised him, coz his style of playing soccer i.e. romantic soccer, his accurate assessment of the situation was the only reason blue lock got the ball and even was able to survive.
So even though he was not shown much, i feel that he just doesnt know himself as good.
He can technically beat isagi, coz he goes by the ego of love/ romance, but since he isnt as smart as isagi, he couldnt understand the truw power he possesses.
