One of my favourite set when i was young. I cried as a baby when incidentally destroyed It. Damn, even now the Memories makes me sad. I was never able to rebuilt It. Sigh.

is it just me, or was lego higher quality back in the day? I mean, when you open this set's box, you open it like a book and there are compartments and printing on the inside. Meanwhile, now you open a lego set the same way you open a cereal box.

in my opinion. this ship looks like a schooner to me but the Skull's eye schooner looked more like a brig because of the many sails and 3 masts.

Nice video, but to be honest it's a terrible design :D The skull and bones design in the back is kinda neat - but then again they included a similar skull design in several other Pirate sets in those years, so it was kind of a theme. But the overall silhouette of the ship is weird, they sacrificed a proper cabin for "destruction feature", they only included half the sails and forgot a *rudder*, and those riggings are just dangling around in the breeze... such a waste.
