Wow! How awesome that Philip made us understand where his character comes from. He REALLY felt he was protecting his people and was taking care of them by closely following religious laws. Aside from this, Philip is a very good, believable actor. He was spot-on when he explained that he doesn't judge his character so that he can portray it the best way possible. He was meant to play Rabbi Akeva!

Amazing interview. Philip, wonderful performance and wonderful insight in this conversation. As you say, we are looking for God…in his glory and power, and miss the savior of gentleness and love that is right in front of us. I feel a need to revisit Mathew 25:40 again and don’t look for Jesus in the clouds but find him close at hand. Inspiring talk!

The Chosen Brought me Back to The Gospel and To get to know Jesus. Raised catholic I have Always had faith and prayed to God and St Jude however alone in my home…. And had so many concerns with catholic hypocrisy… 😞😢Proud to say I have started to read the Bible every morning also with other faith filled books and prayers and realize doesn’t matter church or religion what matters is we follow Jesus and His Ways!! As best we can!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Akeva. Great Actor. His face when he addresses Jesus outside Jairus's house. I love how his face shows total rejection of Jesus. I love the acting. Looking forward to season 4. I feel sorry for Akeva and Schmuel. They are just misunderstood.

Philip, you have a wonderful and blessed Christian heritage. God has been good to you and your family. Even though the Pharisees are the protagonists, the characterizations of the actors who play the Pharisees are one of my favorite parts of the show. Thank you, Philip and the other Pharisees actors who are doing such an amazing job in bringing the story to life. I always look forward to the Pharisee's scenes. Fantastic, acting job! I’ll add my 2 cents about the Pharisees and your character: I always think that if you were Jewish back, then you would not be very far removed from the great deal of trouble people got into with God, for not obeying his very specific rules. That had to contribute a little bit at least to the extra concern Rabbi’s had about all 613 rules.
