I would love to hear from Heather again. These interviews were so insightful. I can't help but think Chad couldn't bear to have her there during the trial and listing her as a potential witness was a way to keep her out and slienced. She saw through him from the very start.

Im glad Heather spoke out on the Daybell side. It's really sad though that not one of Tammy's kids has called out Chad and taken a stand for their mother. Instead they defend their Dad who in a text to Lori described his life with his own family as like having to live under the stairs with the Dudley's.

All who knew the family and worked with Tammy knew the truth of who she was. His lies fell on deaf ears. He’s petty and resentful of her obviously. It only made him more suspicious and disliked in those communities. It should have raised big red flags and alarms in the children’s minds knowing well who their mother was. The family cognitive dissonance is next level! How embarrassing to just sit there listening to his lies about their mother. He could claim the sun was shining when it was raining and they would believe him. They’ve been brainwashed and conditioned to obey and not question the male authority of their father and church leaders since birth.

Chad totally triangulated everyone so they wouldn’t like Tammy. And I’m sure he made sure Tammy didn’t like them by telling lies.
I’ve had that happen to me by a narcissist spouse. It is awful and so hurtful when you finally see what your spouse is doing. How your relationship with them was all about manipulation. How a narcissist replaces you like you’re an old toaster and of no value. Chad proved that at Tammy’s funeral. A narcissist doesn’t truly love anyone except themselves.

Yes I've followed this case since the beginning when the kids were missing. Watched all the interviews and litigation. I think you're exactly right. Chad the misogynist appeared to be exactly that. Even gaslit Tammy about it being a "paintball gun". He's beyond creepy.

The Daybell boys all saying they had happy childhoods - of course they had. They were sons of the patriarchal family. They weren't under pressure to conform the way daughters would be - they didn't even know they treated their mother like shit until told by someone else. Of course they didn't see the "signs". They were close to their dad, because that's where the power in the family was and they shared into that power.
Which makes me think of Alex Cox's brother saying there was no abuse in the family concerning Lorie. If she was abused by their father - he'd never know. This is the horror of parental abuse, most of the time the closest family won't know.

Crock of … Heather is right on target. People who claim this super natural access to seeing God, visions and near death experiences. Is a way to draw attention to themselves. They are almost trying to line themselves as equal to God. This religious non sense sells books and creates fame in the worst way possible. Killing so many good and innocent people. When I think of Tammy, Charles and those precious children that they destroyed. It is heartbreaking! Thank you Lauren and Dr John for doing this interview with Heather several years back. And now it is still so pertinent!

I’ll forgive Hildegard Von Bingen. For a woman in that time you may have had to say you had access to god for people to listen to you 😂 but I do believe some people have some psychological or physiological issues that can make them convinced they see God…and not to mention more ancient communications with God (even in the Abrahamic religions) were usually accompanied by psychedelic substances.
Chad isn’t cool enough to have lost his ego and felt empathy for the first time by doing shrooms during a lost and found summer though. He is one of the many who use their “communications” with the “divine” as a way to gain power over others.

You guys remove comments that have mild criticism. I only mentioned that it's odd that if Heather was not a fan of Chad why he would be over showing their property to JR gives the impression they were more in line with Chad then they want others to know. As I watched further I had a different take and wanted to make a caviat but my comment was gone. I did not disparage anyone. One would think a channel with a clinical psychiatrist would allow critical thinking within a respectful frame.
Isn't that the lesson we need to take from this case. That taking the easy road of being polite and not making waves when you see things can be dangerous. It's better to empower yourself and say something. I think it's fairly easy to say if someone would have been strong enough to take a stand against Lori a long time ago many lives could have been saved. I do not think Heather could have affected that and I do think that she was outspoken and is prob the reason she was not close to Chad

Mails to his son Mark? Its still time to go and found fingerprints of Alex in his house nears her window of her room or front door, i think someone from the police should check it no ? Pls help me with answer if you know? Other BIG Q how the police let Alex go with the shooting of Charles?I bet Tilly knew what really happened in the room and JJ and Lori its the one that shout him ..and cos of that they need to get rid of the children! And Emma must now abut her mum dead, she just wants the money from her dad!! The FBI need to go back and take again fingerprints of the house and check everything again ! Poor his son that need to lie its time these children say the true and only the truth if the love their mum and believe in god ! How its take Chad and his son to call after 4 or 5 hours to call the police ? Maybe enough time to stage the room with all Med oils etc .. That never been check for fingers prints or if the Coroner finds it in her body and what time her son gave her Burger ? if he just comes back home after work around 1 am ? so a lots of lies and Q ??

I watched this interview when it first came out. Watching it again, I see how hard this was for Heather. She took so many risks doing this. What a brave, strong woman who also knows how to keep quiet when needed. It's such a hard balance to achieve. I admire the way she has handled this so much.

And good on them for staying in their home that THEY made & love. Good on them for speaking up. May they find solace & peace as more time goes by.❤️

Weird sidebar thought.... as we have learnt CD was very adept at 'acquiring' or as i say, plagiarising other stories, concepts or archaic historical info to fit his insatiable desire for being lauded ( special, important, revered, worshipped.... pick a version).
I'm thinking he was incredibly envious of Matt, his brother. He covetted Matt's life, his success, his charm and.... his beautiful intelligent vivacious wife. When LV appeared and fangirled and flirted with him, some part of him felt he'd met his 'Heather' and could become elevated amongst his peers and followers. He had 'arrived'.
( Sorry Heather).... hear me out, we've recently learnt through testimony how much CD disparaged Tammy including at her funeral and is egging on his lawyer to portray Tammy as physically less than LV. My point is that CD is comfortable comparing the physical comparisons and perhaps the personalities- mostly the superficial - between Tammy and LV.
i think he had arm candy in LV that elevated him ( in his mind) comparable with his brother Matt and Matt's beautiful wife.

I think Tammy was also beautiful, talented, etc but when you’re married to a narcissist they gaslight you and put you down constantly. It is overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to raise 5 kids, support the family (like Tammy was) and be a good LDS wife. And a narcissist is always competing with their spouse. That’s why Chad spoke poorly of Tammy at her funeral. He had to be the center of attention, he had to be a victim and he had to be better than Tammy. I’m sure he hated hearing anything nice about her. Living with someone like that depletes you of the sparkle and zest for life you may have once had. Been there, done that.

Tammy was absolutely beautiful. And I think the poster here doesn’t mean to say otherwise. I mean this non offensively, but they use that photo of her a lot in the bathroom with the short haircut, and I think it’s the least flattering. I’ve seen some truly gorgeous photos of her they should use more often.
That said, Lori and Tammy are very different in beauty. And I think he wanted the opposite of Tammy.

There’s a lot of vocabulary associated with the LDS organization, wow. Thanks Lauren for clarifying some of that in chunks. I’m guessing serving for free because it’s a service to God? It’s a “good work”? It seems like a lot to be doing for free. You be that stake leader and you still have to find time to get home and get the garbage to the curb on time. (Okay, the last part was snarky). It seems like there’s a lot to the LDS body of believers and the people who are called to be leaders must be amazing people. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of responsibility put on them. This interview is very informative and troubling at the same time.

    I GET IT HEATHER.
I grew up in LDS church and have a very similar case of being called the pot-stirrer as I spoke up when things were off. My brother (who is a police officer) always kept his true feelings and thoughts to himself. Called it ‘wearing a mask’. He married a controlling, fanatical Baptist woman, had six kids, believes in demon possession LITERALLY, and raised the kids by emulating Bill Gothard’s teachings (ie:the Duggars’ religion). They have spiritually, emotionally and physically abused their kids, and pushed me and my kids away as we let theirs know they were not the reason their parents mistreated them. Narcissists don’t like when you call them out. Add extra mental illness like delusions and rage problems and you get a very sad, scary problem that destroys families. It has caused a schism in ours. I would love to be close to them, but it is impossible. They see anyone who doesn’t follow their exact way of believing as misled, and they see me as ‘ungodly’. Fortunately, my one niece who has also been called the pot-stirrer (because she’s ‘just like her aunt B’) does have a close relationship with us, but suffers their belittling judgments. Only a month ago my only nephew (the youngest) believed he was possessed by demons and my brother and his wife proceeded to try to cast them out or get a pastor who could. I just STILL cannot believe that in 2024, this still goes on and especially to people I personally know. It’s all so insane. They too believe the end times are near and have become more and more obsessed. It’s awful. A few years back he decided he wanted to leave his abusive, isolating wife …for our cousin’s wife. His wife found out and he threw my mom and me under the bus because he told us. First he made it that we encouraged him to leave her. Then they brought their pastor and church members over to grill him WITH THE KIDS PRESENT at which point he changed to the tactic of saying a demon that looked like a giant pill bug wrapped around his head made him do it. Accountability? ZERO. To this day, he is with his wife. I can’t tell who is more psychotic. Mental illness is a sad thing and I should feel empathy towards them, but it is difficult when they’ve cast such hypocritical judgement on us. All this to say I FEEL FOR AND ADMIRE HEATHER. I am lucky there have been no murders in our situation, but it scares me to wonder what could happen. I am also luckier in that we don’t live anywhere near each other or have the same circle of acquaintances. Still, it’s awful that I can’t have a relationship with my brother, my kids can’t have one with their uncle, and my mom is put in between because of all this. It’s heart-wrenching. STAY STRONG HEATHER. YOU ARE ADMIRED.
