We start taking the interior out of our budget build project truck. Been sick for a week but you can't keep a good man down. Can't keep me down either.

Glad you're feeling better. Of all the videos on the Tube, I've yet to come across someone cutting a long bed S-10 down to a short bed. Just a thought....Lol.
On this truck, I like the long bed and atm I don't plan on painting it. But if I did, I have a clean short bed on the parts truck so I would just swap beds. Kinda weird no one's done it though.

It's actually not too bad for it's age but right there on the verge of going to s%^t. I like the Tahoe interior when it's clean.

Almost! Still a few things to come off and then some hard decisions need to be made.
How do you remove the door panels for this truck. I have one with a window motor, and my window has come off the track so I'm trying to remove the interior door panel to fix it.
It's been a while but I believe it was straight forward...there are 2 screws in the armrest that have to be removed, then slide the armrest back to remove it. I think you then "unsnap" the whole panel and slide it up to remove. I don't know about the power window switches but they probably stay with the door panel and have connectors for the wiring. The door handle will stay on the truck when the door panel is removed. I'll be taking mine off at some point soon so maybe I can show that. Hope that starts you in the right direction.
Does this truck have AC?

You wouldnt wanna sell that glove box cover would ya ? Mine is boogerd up and is rhe same interior color as mine . Its also tahoe
Sorry man, I can't. It's going back in the truck, at least that's the plan atm. Stay tuned though, things change.
@@ClintsStreetMachines not a prob i dont blame ya sorry for the extremely late reply haha i forget i messaged ya. But could u try n show or explain how u got the panel for the ac/heat controls and they panel for the lights on the other side of the steering wheel off ya know...i dont wanna break any of this plastic cause their impossible to find, in my area anyway
@@jonathanhankins790 I can try. There are 2 screws on the bottom of each of those panels. The left side should be easy enough to pull out and unplug everything. The right side is trickier, after you loosen it, pull it out the 1.5 inches or so until it won't pull any further, then reach in with a pick or tiny screwdriver and pop the retainers off the cables to release them. I'm sure there is a better way but that's what I did. Be careful, it's easy to break this old plastic stuff.

Trying to make it custom while preserving it's survivor status. Or something else entirely. We'll see how it goes.

If you keep the seat sms auto fabric is a good place to call.
@@robbierichmondtyrecop3916 Thanks for the good advice. SMS has a great selection but when I checked, they didn't have the fabrics for this truck. If I stick with an OG interior, I'll have to find something "close enough" which will drive me nuts.
