My old man is 66 years old and he back country hunts with me in MT. We share hunting as our bond. We talk about each one of these films which brings us together and get's his a## motivated to get into shape for the coming season. Stay Gritty
Nothing like dealing with a angry woman who had everything loaded to up for a day on the river and you got a Gritty notifcation. I sit with a smile on my face as she stomps around outside waiting for me to finish my film. Totally worth it! Another epic hunt in some beautiful country. Keep them coming and be safe in the woods.
The suspense waiting for the buck to clear the trees was nail biting! Awesome hunt and a super buck! Congratulations! Again another top notch mule deer hunt!
Great video, never disappoints! Another installment of a great adventure with great friends in great country! Great buck, great shot... epic hunt. I appreciate the Gritty team inspiring all of us to get out there and experience the great outdoors!
To come out of terrain like that with a top quality video/tag along style hunt is like nothing else out there....absolutely top notch!!!! Great hunt guys!!!
The content you guys produce is amazing. I wish you guys had these videos out when I was younger so I would be able to do the same things you guys are doing now. I love the patience you guys have with these big bucks that you are passing on. I appreciate all the time you guys put into these videos.
Another great film and hunt! I love the discipline that Brian had to not shoot the compact Buck! He sure was a beautiful deer, he isn’t too good to play the tambourine. I love that they stay fit, pump iron and live the American Dream! Thank you Gritty for the great content!💪🏼🤙🏼
Once again. Another great film. As always, I love the pace of these films. You guys do a great job capturing the steep topography. Always feels like we are there.
Great video as always!! I like how no matter how sweaty you are or how hard the hike is, you are always smiling! That's what is it is about...enjoying the experiences.
Once again… patience takes the buck. And what a beautiful animal! Thanks for continuing to share these and giving a debrief. It helps when y’all explain some of the reasoning behind the moves you make; helps a novice add more tools in the belt. Keep on keeping on!
Got to say I was surprised Brian falling made the final edit. Honestly glad to see it as was beginning to think you and lampers have super powers or something. Yall really are true action heroes
I love how you guys bust your butts to get off the beaten path and hunt places where you’re not fighting others! I love hearing your thoughts on the hunt and why you do this out that during the hunt. It’s great insight
Fantastic brothers ! I feel you when you say he didn't speak to you! The older I get the more I hike and enjoy it ! But don't get me wrong! When he speaks I try to answer ! All american once again!
Absolutely love watching mule deer hunts and you guys always present the best representation of the hunt. The video really portrayed for me what an emotional experience it is to take the life of a large animal. Being able to watch the moment it expired in such clear footage is important for people to see and understand the gravity of the situation. Thank you for making a well placed shot and an ethical kill.
Thank you Kyle. I debated with myself for hours on whether to leave that footage in the film or not--if you have any kind of respect at all for these animals then it's hard to watch that buck expire. But it's real. None of us like to see it--but it's the reality of life. Life eats life. I don't think it's good for society to sugar coat it. Everyone kills every day when they sit down for lunch and eat their sandwich, burger or their fried chicken, etc. Every grocery shopping trip is an exercise in taking life. Too many Americans are disconnected from the reality of where their food comes from and it's not good for humanity. So I kept it in there. RUclips will probably punish me for it--but that's okay; it'll connect with those who who get a chance to watch it.
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast well said. I couldn’t agree more and good on you sir for capturing the essence of the moment. 👍 That stuff is too important to leave out.
Definitely agree with you there. It was difficult to watch but important to realize the gravity of the situation. I have only been blessed to take a few deer 🦌 and a turkey 🦃 in my life. Each time I have that mixed emotion of sadness and thankfulness. I even pray 🙏 over each animal and thank God for the opportunity to bring protein 🍗🍖🥩 back to my family.
I like what Steve Rinella said. Someone asked a hunter “why does that deer have to give his life for you? Would you give your life for deer?” The hunter looked at them and said “if it came down to that”. Hunters are conservationists.
Sunday's are fun days when you know another Gritty Film is dropping. As always, it doesn't disappoint! One heck of a trip with a great buck taken at the last minute.
Boy's you did it again. What an awesome hunt, adventure and journey. I really like that Brian didn't just pull the trigger on any deer but rather waited for something that really speeks to him. Thats really showing personal good hunting code. Gets us all super motivated for the new season comming up. Great video guy's!
Gritty films are by far the best out of the competitors. The quality is substantially better. I look forward to watching new videos every Sunday and can’t wait to hit the mountains to create my own memories.
What a grind of a hunt. Grumpy old mountain bucks carving out a living are the best bucks to kill. Makes me want to go deep into a few rocky canyons to find the one or two bucks that roam those canyons that have to be big. Thanks Brian! Stay gritty!
Brian et al. You guys epitomize the word Gritty! I love your style of hunting and holding out for mature animals. Mule deer are my favourite hunt and you guys nailed it here! Ian Baird.
You guys make the best hunting videos. Definitely fair chase hunting. You capture real hunting not canned hunts for sure. Beautiful rugged country and good friends. Thanks for sharing I feel like like I right there with you.
So much to love with your films!! First class production quality. Great adventure. And I learn so much!! The hunts your crew pull off are what dreams are made or.
Ya, gorgeous buck! I'm alright with my decision though... perhaps I find him again this year and he's far bigger? You never know! The "what if" is so exciting!
Man, that is some intense country. And you know cameras can only show so much. You all are a different breed haha! I'm sure I am not the only one who gets "pumped" or motivated to push myself, after watching these films. We can't wait for the next series!
The chemistry between you and Ryan tells yet another story. I laugh at you both with your razor sharp wit and commentary. Your friendship is clear and the content you share make the GRITTY vids a favorite. You both are educating newbs and seasoned slayers. I walk away everytime with morsels Ill be using in the future. Thanks again for another stellar hunt! Best, Ed The Ghillieman
Thank you Ed! LOL! I appreciate this comment quite a lot. I have tremendous respect and appreciation for Ryan--I love to see him succeed and to share his talents with the world. There's a lot going on under that still surface and I'm always curious to find out what it is.
Wow, that is a nice buck. The terrain looks nasty. Steep and all those loose rocks make this a difficult hunt but I like how you don't even hesitate on getting out there. Climbing 1600' in a mile and a half is gnarly. Impressed and love the footage.
I love the way you guys hunt. You respect the animals, you get close, stay patient, and take high quality shots. A guy can learn something by watching your videos. Well done guys!
Truly some of my favorite videos on any platform the cinematography is crispy. You do the lifestyle justice. Its not just about the kill, its about the adventure. There are a ton of us who use your videos to get us through the 9-5 grind until we get our boots in the dirt. Don't stop keep em coming Sundays start the week for me. Won't be missing the elk hunt. Stay Gritty 😃
Guys you never disappoint . The cinematography in your videos is magnificent I personally think you guys are the best in the hunting industry again another great vid.
Great job capturing this hunt. What a great episode. I love love love the longer episodes filming these epic hunts. Brian, your shoulders must be fire holding that camera up while trekking across these steep mountains.
I hate getting the camera out and filming on a stalk! It’s sooo tempting to ditch the camera and just climb. But then I tell myself to suck it up or I’ll regret it later. The first rule of backcountry filming-whenever the conditions merit safely stowing the camera away; don’t. I’ve broken so many microphones! Nowadays I pack 2 spare microphones! lol Thanks for the props!
@@joshtheel3857 - Email me to grittybowmen@grittybowmen.com. If we didn’t say your name at the end of the film then you were not the winner. The messages on RUclips are scam bots 🤖- Sorry about that. We’ve been trying to block them, but they find ways to subvert our settings.
Got ‘em! Congrats on the last day buck! Always a treat to watch you guys close the distance and keep tabs on these bucks over long periods of stalking. Nice work!
You guys have become the standard of backcountry mule deer hunting. Absolutely love watching your films. The effort you guys have put into these hunts and just getting in the areas is impressive! Thanks for the great content!
That’s what I’m always saying in my head. Is the juice worth the squeeze! The older I get the more bucks I pass up. Don’t have to punch a tag to have a good hunt anymore! Awesome hunt guys! Truly gritty!
Every.single. Time….every time I throw on a video from you guys I stop what I’m doing and join the hunt. By the end of the video I’m on my maps and looking forward to an adventure of my own. You guys are super motivating and I always appreciate the ride. Good push guys.
I always enjoy watching the hunt films you produce. I’m always impressed and challenged by Lamper’s patience, and I usually learn a thing or two. Thank you for all that you put into these productions.
Been waiting for you guys to post this series! Don’t blame ya for passing on him, the pack out of that place is gnarly and the buck has to be worthy of packing out of there and he was close just not quite there. Helped you guys cross the river on your way out of there and was awesome to meet ya.
I appreciate that you don’t have to score every buck on the hoof. I’m also glad you don’t feel pressured to kill something you wouldn’t be thrilled with. Lots of beautiful bucks!
Just how glued I was & lost into this video/documentary is hard to express guys. Hunting with you, I was! Your planning, your patience, choices & exertion all paid off with an eloquently delivered "Murder Death Kill" 👊. Absolutely beautiful buck! Oh, and BIG THANKS to you all for making these mini-movies 100% family-friendly 👍👍 . Much appreciated! These will become classics, to be enjoyed for..decades to come, by untold numbers of viewers. Lastly, your unselfish sportsmanship, comradery, and respect for the mountain as well as the game being pursued, is exemplary for us all. Well done.
Your videos are far more deserving then to be veiwed only 53k times (all it was at the time I watched). So much fun and excitement then what your counterparts put out! Keep up the fantastic work!
Thanks Michael! I'm convinced that RUclips doesn't like my politics. My metrics don't make sense. When RUclips shares my films we break 100,000 views in a few days. Other times, RUclips doesn't share it and we reach about half that number. And RUclips limits the reach of films that show kill shots as well. It's frustrating. But, we're still growing! Thanks for leaving a comment--it helps a lot!
I love seeing you guys in action as you employ so many different tactics over years of learning from your time in the backcountry. Inspires me to get after it!
Love your videos. Glad there is some new mule deer videos out right now to get us through the off season!! You guys kill it as always! Thanks to all involved!
Team Gritty thank you for all of your hard work making the BEST hunting content online it motivates me to keep on keeping on when hunts get cold and wet.
Eye guards. 😆 Can us whitetail guys and y’all Mule deer guys agree on brow tines. I feel like eye guards just sounds kind of weird and on a mule deer they are so tiny they aren’t guarding anything. 😂 Great film y’all. Brian great filming dude. 👊💪
By far my favorite hunting channel on RUclips…I always come away learning so much and being very entertained from all of your hunts and podcasts which has helped me a lot during archery elk and spring bear!
Really nice Mulie video story line. I can’t believe you passed on that buck !!! . Just giving you some trash Brian. Ha! I can tell how physically tough the hunts are, based on how dirty and gritty you guys look at the end of the hunt. Hard mulie work is usually dirty work. Great video story and tanks for taking us along. Nice work boys.
Hey Brian, keep up the epic hunts! Ryan is the right man to lead the group, I think he's more at home in the mountains than at home. Hey RUclips, keep promoting these great videos!
Watching this has 1. Got me more impatient for Oklahoma’s deer season. 2. Stuck watching more Hunting videos. (Like I don’t watch enough already.) These videos are better than watching any sport highlights there is hands down.😮💨
What a hunt! These films just keep getting better and better! The editing is top notch, great mix of action and information. Really get to see all aspects of the hunt. Can't wait for next week's film!
I love watching the hunts you guys go on and film. I really like the information pops up with the gear used. Would like more info on the guns and caliber choices, especially what Cal used on the hunt.
Such a great film . Love watching all the films you guys put out but it's super awesome getting to watch a film with someone you know personally . Calvin is such a stud a great father !!!! Thank you for your military service brother .
Great Hunt!! both bucks are amazing. Hey if that deer didn't get you excited you were right to not kill it. It a hunt and its not all about the kill!! the littles don't understand that I guess. Good video Brian.
Getting gritty with it, that rear stock stabilizer Cale was using sweet, looking forward to more shows and podcast. The last couple bow hunting podcast were a game changer for me. Lots of good information. Stay gritty!
Great film boys! Absolutely love the graphics showing the wind currents to explain your strategy. Also couldn’t agree more, the animal has to have that “no brainer” factor. And the great thing is it is different for everyone! That’s what makes it pure! Stay Gritty👊🏻
Most people have know idea how tough that hunt was, what kind of shape you have to be in, to even get into that country let alone be successful. Really enjoy your work. Thanks guys.
Well said! In our older age it's about keeping the inflammation down with a low sugar diet and being focused on good gut health. It's about sleep and self care. Too many people focus on the exercise--and it's important but the diet and supplement side of things is crucial. Thanks for sharing Ty!
This was a great series. You guys hunt your butts off and ground it out. I respect your decision to pass the compact buck. He's lucky I wasn't there. He had a lot of features I like in a buck. The double throat patch would've been the clincher for me. As always, look forward to your next videos. Stay Gritty!

Love the back country mule deers hunt! Keep up the good work!
Got ‘em! Congrats on the last day buck! Always a treat to watch you guys close the distance and keep tabs on these bucks over long periods of stalking. Nice work!
You NEVER disappoint ! Taking long range shots takes experience and practice. Great job
Thank you Denny!
Your posts never disappoint. In my 60's now so I live vicariously through videos like this. Thanks!
You guys have become the standard of backcountry mule deer hunting. Absolutely love watching your films. The effort you guys have put into these hunts and just getting in the areas is impressive! Thanks for the great content!
I like watching hunters asses an animal and make a decision to pass or go for the right one for that hunter. Nice job and great film.
That’s what I’m always saying in my head. Is the juice worth the squeeze! The older I get the more bucks I pass up. Don’t have to punch a tag to have a good hunt anymore! Awesome hunt guys! Truly gritty!
You guys just don’t miss. Awesome country, awesome company, and another great old buck. Well done!
😂Murder, Death, Kill!!!😂 Great footage as usual Brian! Last day bucks are the most rewarding. Nice work fellas keep on grinding and stay Gritty!
Ha ha! Thanks Bernard!
Me too! He’s been an incredible mentor.
Your planning, your patience, choices & exertion all paid off with an eloquently delivered
"Murder Death Kill" 👊.
Well done.
Love the pure and raw focus of hunting mulies in the remote wilderness
You all make it look so easy, but it's not. Love all the hard work that you put in and that then bring us along it's great.
Another awesome video! Thank you for all the work you put into hunting, filming and educating us!
Another great film with perfect timing for getting me jacked up for my upcoming Deer 🦌 and Elk hunts. Congrats on two great bucks! 🇺🇸💪🏼😎🏕
As I always say, You guys are the bomb. No yap from me for passing on the Compact. If you're not feelin it, you're not feelin it.
I don’t think I would have been able to pass on that compact buck. Such a unique deer!
Eye guards. 😆 Can us whitetail guys and y’all Mule deer guys agree on brow tines. I feel like eye guards just sounds kind of weird and on a mule deer they are so tiny they aren’t guarding anything. 😂 Great film y’all. Brian great filming dude. 👊💪
Another great mule deer buck! Perseverance pays off big in the backcountry. Keep the hunts coming!
By far my favorite hunting channel on RUclips…I always come away learning so much and being very entertained from all of your hunts and podcasts which has helped me a lot during archery elk and spring bear!
Gritty nice job at getting the camera on the shot of buck. Love your films best hunting media out there👍🏹
Hey guys awesome job loved watching and enjoyed every minute. high mountain mule deer are my favorite hunts to watch.
Always my favorite part of the week is watching the hunt in the most amazing mountains.
That’s some gnarly country to hunt in. Y’all inspire me to hit the wilderness places with vigor combined with good gear. Learn a lot from you guys!
Friggin' badass. Dude took two really well-placed shots...I love how individual animals are.
💯
Thank you for the motivation to push harder and go further!!! YOU GUYS ARE DEFINTION OF
GRITTY
These are the hunting videos I wish were available when I was a kid. Sure glad they are now though!
Your backcountry mule deer hunting films are my favorite and this was another absolutely fantastic series!
Hey Brian, keep up the epic hunts! Ryan is the right man to lead the group, I think he's more at home in the mountains than at home. Hey RUclips, keep promoting these great videos!
Man. That is some rough country but it is where the big boys live. Great video and podcast.
Thank you Mark!
Setting examples for viewers! Not everyone wouldve passed up on a buck like the one you did. 👏👏
Another great video. I wish I have never seen any of your videos so I could watch them all over again!!!
Thanks for tuning in Jon. I mean, we aren't opposed to you watching them a 2nd time 😆
Watching this has 1.
Brian Call and Ryan Lampers hit it out of the park again! Love watching their hunts!
Thanks Jared!
Getting gritty with it, that rear stock stabilizer Cale was using sweet, looking forward to more shows and podcast. The last couple bow hunting podcast were a game changer for me. Lots of good information. Stay gritty!
Best way to spend my day at work watching Gritty Films!!! Keep them coming fellas.
More to come! Thank you!
Great film boys! Absolutely love the graphics showing the wind currents to explain your strategy. Also couldn’t agree more, the animal has to have that “no brainer” factor. And the great thing is it is different for everyone! That’s what makes it pure! Stay Gritty👊🏻
Sunday are better with gritty films. Always top quality video and editing. Keep pumping ‘em out
Most people have know idea how tough that hunt was, what kind of shape you have to be in, to even get into that country let alone be successful.
