    With your elevated cabinet and warmer with the hip roofs, what is the height of those smoker stacks? I foolishly didn't consider if its going to fit through the garage doors. I have the traditional cabinet with the elevated and hip roofs ordered. Worst case is I will need to pay for a folding stack adjustment.

    My warmer stack fit just fine but had to have the folding on the main chamber and is not that much more.

    John Knapp, you heard correctly, current lead time is 25 months on all cookers, patio or trailer. BBQ Freak, awesome cooker man. This video is one of the best I've seen on how to season one and it looks amazing, the grate color is just outstanding. I know you spoke on the live video that it's not done until you see the bronze color and this was the perfect illustration of the process. I can't wait to see some cooks off of this bad girl she sure is a beaut.

    Did you have any sand blast dust when you got the cooker and did you wash it down first before you seasoned?

    • @MidwestFreak
      @MidwestFreak  2 года назад

      I did have some sand I just vacuumed it out and just wiped the inside with a rag and the just seasoned it up .

      Thank you. I saw on your other video of this smoker that you got the standard size warmer with the hip roof. How much more room does an elevated warmer give you? Is the firebox on this smoker insulated?

    • @MidwestFreak
      @MidwestFreak  6 лет назад +1

      if you have the sausage hangers it gives you a little more room but I just did it for a different look and yes it is a insulated firebox .

    I used this same "Pam" method on my 24 x 42. Just like seasoning cast iron (like you said).

    Is there any reason you didn't go with the rotated warmer? That would expose the warmer drippings to the stainless shelf if it covered the entire length. I'm just curious if that is something you wish you would have done. She is one beautiful smoker!! Thanks.

      I do not like the rotated warmer and is just a personal thing and only thig I would add is on the doors have a angle piece on the bottom so when fire up the cooker the sweat would drain back in the cooker .

    What is your maintenance routine for the exterior?

    • @MidwestFreak
      @MidwestFreak  6 лет назад +3

      I do nothing on the outside but was it like a car every once in awhile , some people oil the outside down but do not believe in it because if you have to re-paint it someday the new paint will not want to stick .

    I season cast iron pans to prevent rust and make the cooking surface non-stick. Why do you season the inside walls of a BBQ pit? Did you retain your 48-inch Assassin?

    • @MidwestFreak
      @MidwestFreak  6 лет назад +1

      you season the walls for the same reason so the inside of the cooker does not get surface rust in it and I still do have the Assassin for when I do not want to tend the fire and for grilling .

    That pit is a masterpiece. With those upgrades what does something like that cost? 😄

    Congradulation's on new cooker. I like the hip roofs. Looking forward for more video. How long from time you put your deposit down to you got your cooker. I thought I heard 25 months on video They put out recently. That looks like modified trailer what is the with differance from old cooker. Lastly I see you downsized length of cooker was there a reason for that.

    • @MidwestFreak
      @MidwestFreak  6 лет назад +1

      going elevated instead of longer and I can still cook more food and is the only way to go .

    • @MidwestFreak
      @MidwestFreak  6 лет назад +1

      I went with Paul and waited 14 months but he is not taking anymore deposits due to having surgery on his hands in the future . yes it is a modified trailer and takes up a lot less room in my garage and I went smaller because I can still due catering jobs and still have plenty of room to cook and can cook in the warmer too . With the long wait it is real easy to get caught up in the hype of people telling you to go bigger and spending your money on something you do not need and I bet I can feed a army on this cooker .
