That's right Geoffrey Palmer was busy with other commitments and so therefore, couldn't return for series 2 of Executive Stress leading to Peter Bowles replacing Palmer in the role of Donald Fairchild.
I wrote that 5 yrs ago ha ha! I am well aware of the Executive Stress line up now. I have corresponded with both Geoffrey and Peter and met Peter several times. Was so sad to hear of Geoffrey Palmer's loss as he wrote such lovely letters.
@@blondewych Wow, a letter from Geoffrey Palmer would be something to treasure a bit like his lost letter to Jean! I first saw him as a teenager in Butterflies and he remained my favourite comedy actor. There was nothing in the news here in Australia, even though As Time Goes By was very popular here. I found out because of mass notifications relating to a Butterflies clip I posted years ago, and he's not even in it!

I have a signed photo of Geoff and correspondence relating to his time working with Judi Dench on "As time Goes By". Much missed and fabulous actor. I recently watched all 3 series on dvd and they are well written and top class acting from all the actors/actresses.
Watched this when I was younger in the latest 80s early 90s. I think its safe the say the Internet can double as a time machine.

Mr. Palmer only acted in the first series of Executive Stress. It has a very good story line....should have stayed with it....K

Because some do find it amusing - and anything with Penelope is usually v good.
You need to watch a full episode to enjoy Executive Stress. It's humour is more dry than many British comedies.
