I was in Melbourne, Australia...I think it was about 1997. My friend and DJ Sean Quinn (producer of Quench's iconic track 'Dreams') was supporting the late Tony De Vit at an event at 'The Palace' venue in St. Kilda. It was such an amazing night. Sean played this song. Oh. My. God. Knocked me for a six! It's now 26 years later in 2023 and this track (specifically, THIS mix) is still one of my all time favorites. It takes you on such a journey. My 16 year old son loves it too. It's right up there with my other favorite track of the era (which Sean also introduced me to) is Rozalla's - I Love Music (Overworld Mix). If you can play it at 134bpm, try it out! It's much better at that speed.
Now, I love BT and I love Chicane ....the two together?? This blows my mind!!!! Now we need two hours of this blissful mix of two legends together!!!! 😁🎹🎵🎹🎵🎵🎹🎵🎹🎵🎹🎵🎹🎵
Chills... And memories of a completely different time. I always loved the special sound of Chicane. BT brought this monster to the table, and Chicane brought it to life. You smell "Offshore" with its salty atmosphere out of this remix. This is absolutely otherwordly.
THAT intro is like sooo perfect. Chilled out bliss. Like Chicane to start with and then Nick goes all Disco Citizens after the breakbeat section. Class
I remember buying this on 12 inch, just coz i liked the originial, but as soon as i heard the Chicane remix, i only ever listened to that version. Still sounds as good now as it did back then 😁

Check out these albums of BT - This Binary Universe (2006), If The Stars Are Eternal So Are You And I (2012) and Morceau Subrosa (2012). I'm sure they would totally change your present view of BT. It's not trance, but just wonderful electronica and ambient soundscapes that still showcase him as the genius he truly is. :) As for Chicane, Thousand Mile Stare (2012) is still a great album! Didn't you like it?

Nick Chicane is definitely one of the good ones, I remember the songs that were all trance/electronic in the 90s/00s and nowadays it's all dance this present day which still works perfectly with songs for "Everything We Had To Leave Behind" album and the single "How Does Your House Work?" Must say Nick has been stagnant over the past few years. Although the mellow 'Chicane' sound is still present, he seems to have lost a sense of experimentation and I hardly sense musical brilliance like I did with his first two break-out albums. Chicane's always been my first love, but must say, BT has grown and he is still growing to be a greater musical genius.
