To keep my Youth Academy career modes semi realistic I usually look up the demographics of the town/city of the club and then I look up the player history to see how many nationalities have played for the club and then I limit myself to only scouting those nations. Occasionally I will add different nations if I keep going up the leagues. It can be time consuming but it feels more immersive and authentic to me this way. Wikipedia is a great tool for this!
0:51 only play home matches & sim away because they're more likely to be a loss / draw 1:56 don't spend more money on new signings than you brought in with sales 3:30 limit wages + player overall & when they exceed you got to sell them 4:37 injury severity slider up follow league rules at the start / midpoint of the season do a randomized storyline
Ok heres my rules I used for Borussia Mönchengladbach: - min. 12 German Players - initial Transfer window disabled - offer from bigger club = coin flip - offer from smaller club is my choice - can only buy 2 players per season - +1 additional signing per 2 players sold - can't buy players from clubs in a higher European competition than me. So far its been a great career! I lost coin flips on both Stindl and Hoffman, but was able to use the proceeds on James Maddison
Will try the coin flip idea! One restriction I’ve also used before is age brackets - so say 40% of my squad has to be age 28 or above. Otherwise you just end up having a team of OP wonder kids and youth players. It’s also a great challenge to revive the careers of players like Lingard, James Rodriguez and so on
I think one of the biggest things that career mode lacks that they used to have was players who were in form had their stats boosted dynamically (not permanently) this helped players who did well continue to do well and visa versa for players who under performed regardless of age. Fifa today is mainly based on morale.
the trick is to start your career mode with a lower team that's just trying to avoid relegation, until you have become better playing with the slides, then gradually moving to a mid table team, is gonna take time to get used playing with new sliders and all manual controllers, i just started a career mode with werder bremen and i look forward to the journey of getting better and used with this new experience of playing, really makes the game more realistic! finally having fun again playing fifa! ;) was tired of winning 7-0 on ultimate difficulty before!
Mate I started a player carrer with Adrian the Liverpool goalkeeper retired started my Carrer as a manager in Chicago fire FC then about 4 seasons later moving to Monza in serie B winning the league and the Copa Italia the season I got promoted mid table in serie A itallian super Cup and UECL trophy after winning the conference league. I surprisingly saw the PSG offer in my offers tab so I applied for it and got the job.
i play fc Cincinnati as it is my home town, i find that my players get poached, like brenner i had a 14 mil clause and he was bought, now he is worth 28 mill and its take me 39 mil to buy him lol, so the realism is i won't be able to hold top players for long period of time but now my club is up 38 million this season from sales of players and so i keep bringing in youth players and make sure that i have some players that cap under 80 so i don't lose them all the time. and get my kicks playing international for Austria. right now i have 2 clubs going after my best cam Acosta for 19.5 million but i learnt to not put a buy out on those kinds of players so i have to be direct approached.
My restrictions are to not spend more money than I earn with competition and transferts. I try to recruit from smaller clubs even if I did some weird moves (Edouard in Season 2 for 15,5M for replacing Diallo and Ajorque sold 25M and 30M and Olise in season 3 for completing the team for the Champions League) I recruit not more than 3 free agent per season but if I don't use a player enough I can let his contract end if he's not from my Youth academy. I use the Youth academy for create my new stars and for the rules of 4 local player in European competition and try to keep half of the team from the Championship country (or some African player in France), I don't recruit more than 4 player from other continent either. And I had recruited good players who were relegated with their team (Dorsch, Mavropanos) and try to relaunch them with a team who play an European Competition, now I try to buy new stars and make them grow, I recruit former player from Strasbourg in my careers with them like Fofana or Simakan and I won all trophies that you can win in France and Europe (Ligue 1, Cup, Supercup, UEFA Supercup and UCL) but not the preseason tournament. I use to be a record breaker in my careers, I beat Alan Shearer record with Patson Daka in my career with Leicester City, I beat Josip Skoblar Ligue 1 Record of 44 goals 3 times with Giroud Regen with Strasbourg (he scored 50 goals twice and 53 the last season I played)
If a player demands a certain squad role and I can't play them, I sell or loan them, no question. As far as youth academy is concerned, after the first season, I scout the top two scoutable YA nations that I don't scout already.
Started Manchester United career mode. Disabled first transfer window. Im now in january window. Who should I buy? Currently using sliders just as you recommended in the earlier video. Currently holding 2nd position with 47 points. City first with 50 points and third place Liverpool with 43 points. After using sliders its much more realistic and fun. Rotating squads and getting A's in every training. Its fun actually than bypassing training simulations. My expectations for this season is to qualify for champions league & winning the FA cup. Still in carabao cup run tho. Planning to buy Rasmus Hojlund after Weghrost lone move expires.
The way I restrict myself is by only buying players with an in stadium announcement in the English League (played as QPR in FIFA 22) so my transfers are limited to the players who are in or have played in England. This is kinda frustrating though cause FIFA have a bug where they will announce the goal but not the substitution of some player, and some good cheap player don't have an in stadium announcement even though they're playing in England (Dennis from Watford came to kind)
For me I have to have real faces in my career team. It ruins the immersion when I use players who look like they belong on the Sims. I'd love to do a road to glory or use a lower league team but because of this it's not as fun. I know there are lots of players under 70 rated with real faces that I could transfer to one lower league so I might do that. Maybe you could do a video on lower rated players with real faces?

I've been simming a lot more games to allow for realistic results too! If I'm in the EPL as a newly promoted side, I sim games against all teams above 14th place. As a mid table side, I sim all my games against big six clubs, and so on. Even when I'm a title contender I make sure to sim games against rivals.
Fr. Im doing a Leeds United save. I started the season 6 games unbeaten. I was like this is kinda unrealistic. So i simmed some matches and now im in the mid table. My goal is to at least to get conference league or at best Europa
Yep. I’m playing fifa 21 with reading and got promoted first season. Second season came 12th in the prem. Next season I’m sitting 3rd after 8 games - not entirely unrealistic as we’ve seen teams have amazing starts. But yeah I’m now simming games against traditional top 6 and most away games just to bring myself down the table a bit.
I’m managing GD Chaves in Portugal but my manager is American. I have signed a few Portuguese and Brazilian players, but I’ve also signed a couple American players, do you think this is realistic?
Idk why it’s so hard for people to understand that if the game is too easy just up the settings. Pick a club that has a smaller market and has little to no cap space
The problem is, if you keep it realistic you will get fired. I played a career mode with wolves 2 times to see what would happen. 1st save was me just going for all the trophies, I bought haaland and mbappe 4 seasons in and etc. I won evetythung but i got sacked. 2nd save I followed all the objectives and still got sacked for not being able to do 1 objective that was low on the priority list 3 seasons in. So i just stopped playing fifa cuz i cannot use cheat engine due to not wanting to get banned so bye fifa
