Nice. This works pretty well. Hopefully in the near future you'll be needing a full on auto roll laminator. That'll make things super fast.

As an alternative method, you can put the laminate over the print loose and then run both under the roller until you have 5 inches or so pushed through. Then pull the back off the laminate, cut a small strip off of it and run it back through the rollers to stick it, then proceed as you did to complete the process. I've found that method to be very accurate and bubble free and it's much easier than this process appears to be.

This is interesting. It makes sense since you kind of release the bubbles before laminating right?

@@BoredThatsWhy yes, I rarely get bubbles using this method as long as both sheets are smooth in the rollers.

May I ask who manufacturers the cold laminate? We dabble with a 3M Gloss adhesive vinyl which is super expensive and very flimsy. We don't seem to have any vendors that understand this process i.e. Spicers, Montroy, Fellers etc.. We do something similar to this installing the 3M on foamcore. Stickers remain a mystery... HP Latex 365 with Graphtec FC9000 Once we figure it out we will need to experiment with the perf cut settings.. DTG web said it should be able to cut through... Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Hi Mike how do you adjust or finetune the gap of the laminate?

I’m not sure I understand your question. Do you mean how tight to make the rollers?

@@mikesstickers hi Mike no problem I got it figured out. Can you do more videos about laminating and a video on how good the substance laminate is? Maybe compare with oracal laminate

How do you deal with dust? i try to keep my environment clean. i have my handy dandy swiffer dusters but dust just appears out of nowhere 😂i've wasted a ton of prints already lol.

It was quite a problem at first. I even allowed my cats in my shop in the beginning. Now I just try to sweep occasionally & I now hang all my prints until I laminate them. I have very few mess ups now from dust or hair. I use pants clothing hangers to hang the prints. They get far less dust than when I laid them out in tables.

There is a little easier way to do that. I am not good at videos at all.. But there are some out there i learned from that work well. Just a matter of getting used to doing it that way.

Absolutely, it’s all about what works for you. I started out trying those other methods & then developed my own way.
