I laughed when you were talking about the “one in one out” rule and said “and you can apply this to your kids” - like one kid in, one kid has to go out. 😂
I'm 13 years into my journey. I'm a recovering packrat that was one trauma response away from being a hoarder. Thankfully my husband is a rock solid positive influence and never pressured me to get to a "normal" state of belongings. I have discovered the peace of having space (instead of the irrational anxiety that empty corners used to ignite) and have been working consistently towards freedom and trust. I am not minimalist yet, but I am enjoying many open surfaces and gaps! And that is revolutionary for me!
The original 15 minute declutter is from Flylady. She was the idea behind setting a timer for 15 minutes in the zone that you are s i. She started this all the way back in the early 2000's.
@@thiscorner102 Do you when that was? I seem to remember that there was someone before Flylady, Maybe that was her? I started FL after my cancer diagnosis in 2005. It totally changed my life. Oh now i remember, was she the SHE program??
No Flylady was before her( I just checked her website), she said she started 2007. FL was before that. But there was some other decluttering that was by 2 women and for some reason remember the acrynon SHE???
Sorry for this to go on but FL was 1999. I don't use her website now or watch her RUclips as she has gone nuts with ultra conservative christian stuff. Very weird what happened. I still do my zones weekly but have my own system. i cant seem to find any reference to the 2 sisters that wrote a book before FL in the 1990's??
The two women were the Slob Sisters. SHE was their program Sidetracked Home Executives. I seem to remember reading their first book in the 1980s, although it could have been early ‘90s.
I find it prefer physical books for non-fiction informational or how-to books but I’m fine with digital books for fiction. I might want to take notes on the informational books and I’ll likely keep them to refer back to but I don’t want to clutter my house with fiction books.

Oh my gosh this made me laugh. 😂 Absolutely don't recommend decluttering your kids 😂

Been decluttering for 3weeks now.. bid bye bye to tons of items. Can't stop decluttering tho. I think it became addictive. 😅
Amazing job with your declutter 👏💛
