As I see you did some homework but you and many others fell to see the influence of The Time ( the group from which Jam and Lewis came from) in this performance as well as her 87’ Grammys Performance. There are other Minneapolis similarities too, Prince’s raspberry beret and Janet’s escapade has similar energy
Oh I had an entire section (I had to edit out for time cause I can talk about these three for hours) Discussing the origins of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and how they were original members of The Time and how Prince fired them for missing a show due to producing the SOS Band. And how Janet's dad didn't want her to record with them because he thought they would make her sound like prince. MANNNNN!!!! I COULD GO ON AND ON about them and the entire Prince Camp....but....I had to keep it to about 15 Mins.
