it's not a combination that'd immediately come to mind, but Shiori's curiously sheltered-but-unhinged focus makes for a perfect setup for Calli's jokes. Good show
today i learned that tumblr is still active and has been shipping onceler with his evil self. and here i thought twitter's genshin shenanigans was peak fanfic.
I would love to see a sequel to this where Calli and Shiori talk about more movies or even deep dives on other topics too, this was so fun and the way they both always tangent vibes so well together. Shiori's description of The Lorax was the greatest summarization of a movie in recorded human history.
This was a really fun idea for a stream, and Shiori was a great choice to have along for this in-depth look at some of the movies a lot of grew up with. Toy Story is still probably my number one here. Though the animation doesn't hold up quite as well the story, themes, and characters are still excellent for it's time. Checked out after the third one. Lorax is probably the most controversial with all the Tumblr stuff that I had no idea even existed until now and with how it was excecated. As excellent as the source material is and the lesson to be learned it was already adapted into an accurate enough cartoon which is already depressing as heck to watch. The update inarguably is overly cluttered but still beautifully animated and has enough of the core elements/themes to make it a decent and pretty fun adaptation. That and what kid wants to sit through the last 45 minutes of this movie watching the world around them die, and corrode away. Not exactly a marketable approach so tbf this movie was going to be screwed one way or the other.
I can feel some good zatsu collabs between Calli and Shiori, the more they get confortable with each other the wilder it will get and I cant wait, today was fun ladies, thank you!!
Nothing against Biboo, but I'm surprised Shiori isn't the Advent member you seem to favor most. She alway seemed to kinda "fit" your personality in my mind a little to well. Love seeing you two together and feel guilty I haven't caught much of her solo content.

This is something I genuinely love about Calli, she brings people together - Much like Kiara's talk show with the JP talents, but just a more casual setting, chilled out. Thanks for the stream Calli and Shiori!!! Man this was a very fun stream. The both of you have great synergy. And I enjoyed listening to every single bit of your conversation. Also a big fan of the topic, as I really do appreciate animated films alot, and I think many if them always gets shafted as just being kids movies. Even though they can be as indepth as regular movies. Hearing this reminded me of a Final I did for a communications class I took a couple of years ago. We were tasked of picking a movie, and writing about established relationships that can be seen within the film, and do a video presentation on it Of course. I chose Shrek. But in full sincerity, Shrek is one of the greatest movies that tackles the idea of overcoming insecurities and developing meaningful relationships. The Dynamic Shrek has with both Donkey and Fiona is great. My favorite scene in the movie is the night time talk between Shrek and Donkey after finding Fiona from the tower. Through Donkeys persistence, he manages to get Shrek to open up about always being judged before he could do anything, just for being an ogre, and how he appreciates Donkey for being the first person to not do that with him. Such a great scene that showcases a growth in bond between Shrek and Donkey. Needless to say, I aced the hell out of that assignment.
We finally got Cali and Shiori teaming up together to have tangents about things and it was very much enjoyable. It was very nice to see Calli trying to comprehend what she already was talking about because man that cute Goth girlfriend was going ham again and my childhood was still in tact. Aside from the fact that we mentioned that original main villain being a big thing for Tumblr for a couple of years everything else was pretty much on brand with what I remembered from watching a good chunk of these movies except for that last one we talked about to end the stream. I don't remember what it was other than the fact that nothing happened in the movie. I think it's for the best that we don't remember that but I definitely enjoyed this dream especially all of the cute little presentations Calli had set up. It made it feel like just a chill peaceful and comfy chatting stream and pretty funny so great job on the stream Calli and Shiorin! Hope to see more of these deep dive streams at some point in the future!
Kinda surprised "Labrynth", "The Dark Crystal", "The Secret of NIMH", and "Watership Down" weren't on there. But those were movies more from my childhood. No wonder I am the way I am. Those are some dark kids movies.

Roast Kiara all you want for liking that movie, but I would watch it twice in a row before I watched The Lorax once.

Thank you for the fun stream and rambling Tho I was expecting you girls to actually get in depth with the movies, like the fact that Shrek was not intended to be a kids' movie and Farquaad even gets a boner in one scene, or how in Toy Story we see for a moment a man sleeping surrounded by cans, implying that is Sid's dad and explaining why Sid is how he is, he has an alcoholic abusive father. Or also talking on Toy Story 3 and how Sunnyside and Lotso are a parallel to a certain place in WWII and Lotso would be the equivalent of the mustache man. There's also the clear alert that the Lorax gave us on our enviroment situation that everyone ignored and Illumination made it worse, and Last Airbender... that goes for the behind the scenes stuff and productions, aparently some people in the cartoon staff didn't like the lore other people wrote on the show, reason why Korra feels so different and lacks the charm. Anyway, it was a fun stream regardless, I hope we get to see a part 2 and maybe even more, there are a LOT of movies to talk about, don't get me started on the Cars' lore and theories At least you had fun

it's not a combination that'd immediately come to mind, but Shiori's curiously sheltered-but-unhinged focus makes for a perfect setup for Calli's jokes. Good show

26 minutes in and they've already discussed gingerbread cannibalism, nice.
I would love to see a sequel to this where Calli and Shiori talk about more movies or even deep dives on other topics too, this was so fun and the way they both always tangent vibes so well together. Shiori's description of The Lorax was the greatest summarization of a movie in recorded human history.
This was a really fun idea for a stream, and Shiori was a great choice to have along for this in-depth look at some of the movies a lot of grew up with. Toy Story is still probably my number one here. Though the animation doesn't hold up quite as well the story, themes, and characters are still excellent for it's time. Checked out after the third one. Lorax is probably the most controversial with all the Tumblr stuff that I had no idea even existed until now and with how it was excecated. As excellent as the source material is and the lesson to be learned it was already adapted into an accurate enough cartoon which is already depressing as heck to watch. The update inarguably is overly cluttered but still beautifully animated and has enough of the core elements/themes to make it a decent and pretty fun adaptation. That and what kid wants to sit through the last 45 minutes of this movie watching the world around them die, and corrode away. Not exactly a marketable approach so tbf this movie was going to be screwed one way or the other.
I can feel some good zatsu collabs between Calli and Shiori, the more they get confortable with each other the wilder it will get and I cant wait, today was fun ladies, thank you!!

Man this was a very fun stream. The both of you have great synergy. And I enjoyed listening to every single bit of your conversation. Also a big fan of the topic, as I really do appreciate animated films alot, and I think many if them always gets shafted as just being kids movies. Even though they can be as indepth as regular movies.
Hearing this reminded me of a Final I did for a communications class I took a couple of years ago. We were tasked of picking a movie, and writing about established relationships that can be seen within the film, and do a video presentation on it
Of course. I chose Shrek. But in full sincerity, Shrek is one of the greatest movies that tackles the idea of overcoming insecurities and developing meaningful relationships. The Dynamic Shrek has with both Donkey and Fiona is great. My favorite scene in the movie is the night time talk between Shrek and Donkey after finding Fiona from the tower. Through Donkeys persistence, he manages to get Shrek to open up about always being judged before he could do anything, just for being an ogre, and how he appreciates Donkey for being the first person to not do that with him. Such a great scene that showcases a growth in bond between Shrek and Donkey.
Needless to say, I aced the hell out of that assignment.

We finally got Cali and Shiori teaming up together to have tangents about things and it was very much enjoyable. It was very nice to see Calli trying to comprehend what she already was talking about because man that cute Goth girlfriend was going ham again and my childhood was still in tact. Aside from the fact that we mentioned that original main villain being a big thing for Tumblr for a couple of years everything else was pretty much on brand with what I remembered from watching a good chunk of these movies except for that last one we talked about to end the stream. I don't remember what it was other than the fact that nothing happened in the movie. I think it's for the best that we don't remember that but I definitely enjoyed this dream especially all of the cute little presentations Calli had set up. It made it feel like just a chill peaceful and comfy chatting stream and pretty funny so great job on the stream Calli and Shiorin! Hope to see more of these deep dive streams at some point in the future!

Tho I was expecting you girls to actually get in depth with the movies, like the fact that Shrek was not intended to be a kids' movie and Farquaad even gets a boner in one scene, or how in Toy Story we see for a moment a man sleeping surrounded by cans, implying that is Sid's dad and explaining why Sid is how he is, he has an alcoholic abusive father. Or also talking on Toy Story 3 and how Sunnyside and Lotso are a parallel to a certain place in WWII and Lotso would be the equivalent of the mustache man. There's also the clear alert that the Lorax gave us on our enviroment situation that everyone ignored and Illumination made it worse, and Last Airbender... that goes for the behind the scenes stuff and productions, aparently some people in the cartoon staff didn't like the lore other people wrote on the show, reason why Korra feels so different and lacks the charm.
Anyway, it was a fun stream regardless, I hope we get to see a part 2 and maybe even more, there are a LOT of movies to talk about, don't get me started on the Cars' lore and theories
