If you wanna know my extended thought process on the casting choices, here's detailed thoughts: Laventon: Very tough one but I knew I wanted someone with a diverse talent set. Ended up landing on Brent Mukai because of his performance in AI: The Somnium Files 2, and found an even better reference clip in Ratchet and Clank. Kamado: Needed someone tough and burly but not too emotional. David Lodge famously voiced Bleach's Kenpachi so he was a perfect reference here. Note this is the first of a lot of Fire Emblem clips - it's mostly because it's just very easy to get clips from FE games, ha ha. Cylene: Someone lower registered and serious, and this Elizabeth Maxwell clip has never failed me for years ha ha. Terri Doty also considered. Volo: Robbie Daymond was my first choice for him because, let's be honest Akechi, but I didn't want Akechi's slightly higher voice so I went to Max Mittelman...only to forget Prompto, very jovial and casual, was actually voiced by Daymond. All comes full circle. Correction on the credit in the subtitles. Ginter: I had him sounding older before but realized he felt more "veteran" than "elderly" so Tony "I've been in this industry for decades" Oliver felt perfect (the 4th Hokage looking a lot like Ginter's descendant helped). Adaman: Went through a lot of options, including Mittelman and Kyle Igneczi, but ultimately Adaman is cool and Johnny Yong Bosch is surprisingly not in much Pokemon. Match made in heaven. Irida: Wanted someone higher voiced, down to earth vibes - Megan Shipman works great. Fun fact, almost had her and Sabi switched for actors. Mai: She's a very simple character but I took "polite" and "sisterly" and went with Alexis Tipton because she just fits those vibes for me. Lian: I wanted someone that could sound young and a bit scratchy. Derick Snow was also considered but I settled on Lucien Dodge, who has that mature tone but that higher voiced youth I need. Arezu: Suzie Yeung is so talented that I just cast her as Arezu because I liked Arezu and wanted an excuse to find more Suzie Yeung clips, figuring "it'll work out fine, I'll find something that works." Yuffie ended up being my reference but it's genuinely a case of just forcing an actor into a role and assuming it'd work because she's that good ha ha. Calaba: An elderly character that feels like she's seen it all...again, like Tony Oliver, the legacy of Barbara Goodson felt very fitting. Iscan: The single hardest major character for me. I had no idea what he sounded like and I wanted to accurately cast a black actor and I went through tons of options. Thank you new anime for providing me my voice with Lee George - I was familiar with his soft voice in Appare-Ranman, but the new Ice Guy anime dub gave me him being dorky and energetic in a way that matched Iscan's scaredy-cat energy. Palina: I wanted her to sound mature and have a deeper voice and so Caitlin Glass was just an easy choice. Melli: The only character that I literally never changed my mind on, the first choice I made. Chris Patton can play a great annoying theater-kid dweeb and getting some sassy Lindhart audio was easy. I have had to refine a lot of these choices but this was the only one that was in my head the instant I saw the guy. Sabi: Like I said, almost used Megan Shipman as Anya (which I only just now realized the psychic child gag would be funny) but realized my M.T. Harvey clip just fit her well. Youthful but just a bit "off". Gaeric: Fun fact, Ian Sinclair currently holds the records for actor I've recorded the most separate clips for over the years I've made these, around 8 different clips. He can sound burly and manly so he was a solid pick for Gaeric, though fun fact I almost cast him as Larry in my SV video. Man has range. The villagers: I will fully admit these were the last I cast because they're just...the least character-y. Some were just clips I already had I thought fit the personality well (Passelle, Rye, Tao Hua) and the others involved a lot of scrolling through Fire Emblem game casts until I saw ones I liked (Anthe, Sanqua, Choy, Colza). Nothing too extreme here but I'm overall satisfied with them. If I missed a named villager character I don't think I care because it'd just add another hour of searching and I'd hate that! Charm: Deepest of the trio, wanted someone who sounded mostly calm but capable of raising voice. Katelyn Barr works well. Clover: Angry gremlin energy, nobody does it better than Karbowski. Coin: Calm and quiet - Trina Nishimura's early Mikasa performance was always a go-to for that character type for me. Zisu: Monica Rial has insane range so she's easy to cast. She's most known for her higher pitch anime girl voice but I'm very fond of her more mature vocal range and especially when she plays tougher characters. Worked well for a combat gal like Zisu. Beni: I lied about Iscan, this was the toughest to cast and the last major character I figured out. Finding an older man voice that can play both silly and serious but what I also imagined as higher was...tough. But Frank Todaro impressed me a ton in AI 2 so I spent a solid hour or two finding a role that fits. While his role in Sakuna is a bit more posh than I'd want, it gets the point across - I think outside of Mugman on the Cuphead show, Todaro's gonna get a very big role some day, that guy is talented. Cogita: A calm attitude, a sense of importance, and a very thoughtful reflective tone. Tara Platt works perfectly. Though I did heavily consider casting Veronica Taylor using her more mature vocal range just to mess with people. Arceus: It talks to the player sometimes so I gave it a voice and when I think "what would God sound like" my first thought is Xemnas apparently.
Same, if I gave him a proper fan cast it’d be Chris Wehkamp, but I don’t like to contradict sources for these videos so, yeah. Wonder if we’ll ever see Reynolds take on this specific Ingo and play him deeper...
As someone really bad at voice claims and finding headcanon voices, I’m always amazed at how spot-on your choices feel! Laventon, Arezu, and Volo are some of my favorites in this batch.
Added a subtitle correcting a mistake - Volo's audio is Robbie Daymond, not Max Mittelman. My bad for forgetting who plays Prompto. Ironically Daymond was my first choice so it all comes full circle lol.
Nice! I actually recognize some of these voice actors and voices. Like Cassandra Lee Morris who voices Morgana and Ringo, Mat Mercer who voiced Yusuke and Ex, Erica Lindbeck who voiced Futaba and Raffina, and of course the mad man himself Xander Mobus who voiced Joker and Dark Prince. I did my research. ;)
I always wanted a headcanon voices video for legends arceus and this does not disappoint. All of them are near perfect. Though personally I think Rei/Akari and ingo as well would have different voices. For Rei I think his is perfectly suited for Yuri lowenthal and akari, Mae whitman fits as well and the second I saw ingo in the game I dreamed of him being voiced by steve Blum it’s just too good but that’s what I think
Recasting Arceus from the voice it had in the movies might be a good choice honestly. the english dub really made Arceus seem less of a god and more a petty ruler. granted his first movie appearance was him extremely pissed off but still...
My personal pick for Volo is David Menkin. His voice work as Malos makes me think he could do the later parts of the game very well because of how well he yelled in his performance. And if Malos’ voice register is too deep, he could do his Luke Skywalker voice. Robbie is also a great pick, though I didn’t imagine him having such a high voice, so I never considered him.

Also I originally imagined Cyllene voiced by Tara Platt using her Edelgard voice but Elizabeth Maxwell works too! Holy crap. With the recent announcement of sync pairs from Legends: Arceus coming to Pokemon Masters EX we are about to hear the real official voices now. But honestly, these choices suit the characters well.
Volo was on point imo, though that may just be my bias towards Max Mittelman speaking (I first fell in love with his voicework because of Puyo Puyo Tetris - he voiced Tee in that game)
It's very exciting! Irida's hasn't been announced yet I think but Adaman is Micah Solusod. Fun fact: while my guess of Johnny Yong Bosch was wrong, Solusod has been mistaken vocally enough for Bosch that he's been mistaken for Bosch's son and has played that up as a joke. So hey, I got kinda close.
I've always imagined the characters to sound as follows: Laventon - Vexen from Kingdom Hearts Kamado - King Rhoam from Zelda: Breath of the Wild Volo - Mozenrath from Aladdin
I once saw a video where someone put Slade's voice from _Teen Titans_ over clips of Arceus from the anime and now I can't think of any other voice for him. Sure beats the Starscream voice the English dub gave him...
volo robbie daymond is my pick too!! i always had akechi in mind because i like him so very much and they have a surprising amount of things in common but prompto is also a very good casting :3
I don't think I have much to add, to be honest - between multiple official castings I think they all have solid voice actors. I had a Sun and Moon one years ago that I'm not super happy with anymore but I guess some highlights were Bryn Apprill as Lillie, Micah Solusod as Gladion, David Wald as Guzma, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Lusamine, and Ian Sinclair as Kukui. Sword and Shield I honestly didn't finish a list by the time they had like, three actors each, so my time has passed there lol.

Of those I'm only personally familiar with XD, which would definitely be fun. Ones I currently have in my back pocket are Ghost Trick, Helltaker, Darkstalkers, various RPGMaker horror games when I want to bust out some quick stuff, and some undubbed anime like Shugo Chara and Pandora Hearts. Wanna learn more about some other series to do lists on them too - Omori, Hatoful Boyfriend, and Samurai Showdown have definitely been in my sights for a while. And of course I just randomly fixate on stuff when I feel like it so who knows what will eventually get videos! EDIT: Oh and the Splatoon games, which I'm very behind on.

Honestly I think a better fit for Volo would be Bryce Pappenbrook. Think Eren after the time-skip in AOT. Especially for when Volo becomes unhinged at Spear Pillar, since Bryce did a great job at being an aggressive villain.

Hi, I have some idea: Have you heard about a fighting game series named Bloody Roar? Shame that the series has been discontinued since 2003, and the English voice acting of the series' latest release (Bloody Roar 4) has been critized. So could you make a headcanon if Bloody Roar were continued/rebooted with nowadays' voice actors? Either language (Japanese or English) is fine. Thanks!
So, funny thing here: Someone did that for me. Bloody Roar 2 has a fandub produced by voice actor Casey Mongillo, they literally got together a bunch of professional voice actors (like Kira Buckland, Morgan Berry, Edward Bosco, and more), recorded new lines, and programmed them into a file for the game. I honestly don't think I could do better than that, ha ha.
I mentioned in the intro that I ignored accents for this because it makes finding clips and actors WAY harder based on my personal knowledge - generally my rule is "if they'd have an accent, imagine that actor just doing the accent".
I know it sounds stupid, but... I am working on a game. When it comes out, it would be a dream come true to have you make a video on it, but I think that would be impossible... Though, if you end up doing it anyway, the only request I would make is no Monica Rial or Jamie Marchi, I just, urgh, HATE those two, they think they can get away with some awful things, but I will never forget what they did... It's very exciting! Irida's hasn't been announced yet I think but Adaman is Micah Solusod. Fun fact: while my guess of Johnny Yong Bosch was wrong, Solusod has been mistaken vocally enough for Bosch that he's been mistaken for Bosch's son and has played that up as a joke. So hey, I got kinda close.
I'm too used to Arceus's voice from "The Jewl of Life" movie to picture it any other way lol

Kamado - King Rhoam from Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Volo - Mozenrath from Aladdin

I once saw a video where someone put Slade's voice from _Teen Titans_ over clips of Arceus from the anime and now I can't think of any other voice for him. Sure beats the Starscream voice the English dub gave him...
Arceus's voice is EXTREMELY (which is essentially just Xemnas' voice from Kingdom Hearts II).
volo robbie daymond is my pick too!! i always had akechi in mind because i like him so very much and they have a surprising amount of things in common but prompto is also a very good casting :3

I don't think I have much to add, to be honest - between multiple official castings I think they all have solid voice actors. I had a Sun and Moon one years ago that I'm not super happy with anymore but I guess some highlights were Bryn Apprill as Lillie, Micah Solusod as Gladion, David Wald as Guzma, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Lusamine, and Ian Sinclair as Kukui. Sword and Shield I honestly didn't finish a list by the time they had like, three actors each, so my time has passed there lol.

I wonder what else will get a headcanon voices video. Will it be something like Arcana Heart, Twisted Wonderland, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness, Fighting Vipers, Samurai Showdown? We'll never know!
Of those I'm only personally familiar with XD, which would definitely be fun. Ones I currently have in my back pocket are Ghost Trick, Helltaker, Darkstalkers, various RPGMaker horror games when I want to bust out some quick stuff, and some undubbed anime like Shugo Chara and Pandora Hearts. Wanna learn more about some other series to do lists on them too - Omori, Hatoful Boyfriend, and Samurai Showdown have definitely been in my sights for a while. And of course I just randomly fixate on stuff when I feel like it so who knows what will eventually get videos!
EDIT: Oh and the Splatoon games, which I'm very behind on.

Honestly I think a better fit for Volo would be Bryce Pappenbrook. Think Eren after the time-skip in AOT. Especially for when Volo becomes unhinged at Spear Pillar, since Bryce did a great job at being an aggressive villain.
Bryce is a fun pick! He's off my viable list because of my "don't double-cast with Masters" rule but I cane easily see it.

Have you heard about a fighting game series named Bloody Roar? Shame that the series has been discontinued since 2003, and the English voice acting of the series' latest release (Bloody Roar 4) has been critized.
So could you make a headcanon if Bloody Roar were continued/rebooted with nowadays' voice actors? Either language (Japanese or English) is fine.

So, funny thing here: Someone did that for me. Bloody Roar 2 has a fandub produced by voice actor Casey Mongillo, they literally got together a bunch of professional voice actors (like Kira Buckland, Morgan Berry, Edward Bosco, and more), recorded new lines, and programmed them into a file for the game. I honestly don't think I could do better than that, ha ha.

I mentioned in the intro that I ignored accents for this because it makes finding clips and actors WAY harder based on my personal knowledge - generally my rule is "if they'd have an accent, imagine that actor just doing the accent".
