Matt Appreciate your videos on the old Chevy trucks. Great info and tips. I have an 04 Avalanche 265k miles. Have you ever heard of a no start no crank after driving and idling in summer heat. Shut unit off, go in store, come out and have to wait 30 to 40 minutes before it cranks up. I took to Dealer and they replaced my fuse block by the battery. Same issue in the heat of summer. Poor diagnosis on their part and wanted me to put in new pcm. I bought a new programmed pcm but just don’t believe it is the issue. Any thoughts from your experience is appreciate. Thanks, Matt
You can do the key 3 times without attempting to start it each time. You just have to put it in the "on" position without tipping it over to start. Same exact way but just to on positive
I watched the video of when u 1st got the avalanche and at the 8:30 marke u were talking about the mileage but noticed u had no line under the _ PRND. Thats the problem im having with my 07 2500hd. I changed the battery then no crank no start, i pulled the infotainment fuse and put it back.in and it started. 6 months later i had the windows down and just parked the truck, my brother was looking under the hood and said my ground wire on the battery looked loose, he literally pulled it off and put it back on (5 sec) and ever since it hasn't started again.. after 2 weeks at the garage they called yesterday and said they dont know what it is. It has all new grounds, new fusebox, new battery, starter, waterpump.. man i dont want to scrap this beast. Personally i think the BCM needs to wake up or be reprogrammed as i have no ding ding from the door, no dome light, no horn, no windows but the radio and vent controls work. I tried all the fuses again but didnt work this time. Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙏
I have a 2000 S10 where one injector would stay open giving me a miss fire and wouldn’t close so I replaced the injector and still ran the same I did some more diagnostics and came to replace the computer which solved the issue never had something like that happen to me and took me a lot of time to find out what it was
I was washing my Hummer H2. Got some water in the engine. The vehicle wont start no nights, no crank, nothing. I did notice the PCM fuse is reading very high like 1.5 amps. Do you think its fried? I took it out connectors looked good seals need cleaned.
@@MattsShopI have a 2004 z71 and it’s kicking my ass idk what’s wrong with it fuel pump is new it was driving fine and then it stalled out while driving and it turns on but it won’t stay on it bogs out and it dies after like 3 seconds when I give it a little bit of gas it will stay on but it runs like shit and wants to turn off any advice
Hi,I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, one day show P0342 camshaft position sensor low circuit, replaced for new one ,still code I buyed a conector ,some times start just one, after cant start,I replaced a second cam sensor and still p0342 and p0343. My question is if need replace a crankshaf sensor or PCM? thanks
I have an 04 avalanche man with the original 460L and if I drive up big hills multiple times or go over 60mph on the Interstate it will sometimes cause the transmission to slip around 3rd BUT if I stop the truck Turn it OFF completely then re start it IT will run Fine again.... like it never happened.. any ideas ? Only does it if I'm going over 60mph or Up an Down Big Hills multiple times. This whole procedure with the computer swap has already been done.
I have a 2003 avalanche 4x4. The 4x4 HI engages while key is on the ON position while in park. It doesn't engage while truck is actually turned on. 4LO doesn't engage at all. I already replaced the transfer case actuator and the transfer case control module (tccm), and it is still having issues. Does anyone know if the tccm has to be program? Or any idea what it might be?

Probably not fried, but I'm not sure why it won't start now. It's definitely suspect. Unless you got water somewhere else too.
@@MattsShop it was the relay fuel pump that went bad. No power nothing chamged it and boom fired right up

Will it work,if just put in ecm and do reset...and not do crankshaft relearn procedure?,,will it run
It'll run, but you really have to do the relearn so it knows the new sensor because they are all a little different.

Why did you change the computer? What issues were you having?
Pretty sure rats chewed wires and shorted tye ecm.
@@jesserousseau2481wrong!!!!
Do you have to order a pcm with the vim number added? Or can i just pick up a pcm from the auto parts store?
It needs the VIN to be 100% correct
@@MattsShop What scan tool are you using to do the install and relearn?
Why doyou need a new sensor?
It kept giving me the code for Crankshaft Position sensor.

My ecm1 fuse keep blowing will this fix it?
Probably not something is causing that fuse to pull wayyy too much power.
Do you have the steps for the crankshaft relearn?
You need a tablet capable of it. Then it's just following the steps.
I have a 05 2500 6.0 has engine power reduced. ive taken it everywhere no can find whats wrong with it any ideas ?
Probably the knock sensors
I had the same issue, i replaced every sensor and the harnesses in the motor, it was my ecm that went out not my sensors
Chevrolet is pronounced Chevro'lay, just thought you should know
