I'm really enjoying this series you're doing, Larry. I long to see things like this because I always wanted to know about the pioneers in gospel music, specifically choir music. This is gold. Please bring others in the future.
This was aight. They kept it REEEEEEEAL CUTE! Lol! 😁😁😁😂😂😂 Larry knows the REAL nitty gritty, meat and potatoes subject matter that we wanted to get out of this conversation, but that’s ALRIGHT! When James Hall is ready to speak about it publicly, WE will be ready! UNTIL THEN, we will respect his PRIVACIES, in the words of our secular pastor! Lol!
1: King of Glory- Leave Them There 2: According to James Hall - Great Is Our God 3: Live from New York- If He Never Does Anything Else 4: We Are At War- The Blood 5: No Joy, No Strength- No Joy No Strength 6: Live At Foxwoods- For The Lord Is Good 7: A James Hall Christmas- Hark The Herald Angels... ....As a minister of music and choirmaster coming up, my discovery of James Hall and all his musical contributions had a tremendous influence on me. He will always be at the top of my list when it comes to music. I have to also mention that not only is he a total genius on the organ and choirmaster himself; furthermore, he had the best musicians in his company. I'm referring to Melvin Crispell on organ, and John Peters on piano/ keyboard. James Hall is the best in my opinion, "periodt!" That Brooklyn sound is unparalleled and I am from Lafayette Louisiana giving him his flowers and props. The aforementioned songs are some of my favs. I love the hits most of us are familiar with as well; i.e., God is In Control, God Wants A Yes, Caught Up, King Of Glory, etc. It's not really the songs themselves that get to me, but I think it's more so the chords, the minor movements, the classical influences of the instrumentation, the vibrato of the voices, the total approach to songwriting mixed with the overall texture of the music itself is unmatched. This is choir! Much love to James Hall. Okay, I'll shut up now because ain't nobody fitna read all this anyway, lol smh. But if you do read this James aka The Duke, Blessings to you.
So many great hits but one of My Favorite James Hall songs is The Blood 🩸🙌🏾 ❤️🎼Enjoyed the interview thoroughly!! Thank you Larry Reid & James Hall👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️!!!
James is one of the coolest in the gospel industry....His style is unmatched....He is definitely a living legend! Every one of his projects are 🔥 I can't pick a favorite song, they are all my favorites..... I really enjoyed this interview
This man is all about his craft, crafting it better to minister and crafting it to bless the Father. Thank you for this interview, Mr. Larry. I have heard of James Hall but didn't know him.
James Hall reminds me of Prince. His height, energy, and unique approach to music.... His personality is alot more laid back and normal than I expected.
The church choir ain't no joke! The Won't It Be Wonderful CD is 🔥 I got to get to the church, Bishop Bond goes in on the CDs I want to go visit his church
your first album was awesome. I like the way you featured the organ on that album. Finally, an album where the organ didn't sound like it came from fisher-price!
I have EVERY James Hall album; including music he produced/ wrote for other artists, and even some unrecorded music. The professor is a Master-class in Music Theory, Fashion, Authenticity, and Holy Ghost Power. He is NOT from this planet.
He is not! "Live at Foxwoods" is probably his least sold album, but "Great is the mystery of Godliness" is one of the most COMPLEX gospel songs ever written!!!! I have NEVER heard a choir cover that song!!!!
Yes Larry you should have apologized for gossiping, but what’s done in darkness will come to light eventually. We cannot live double lives if you want to escape Judgement.
The look on James face when LR gave that apology wasn't a look of forgiveness. Larry drug him all up and through these RUclips streets. At the end of the day people have accepted the homosexual lifestyle no matter what position you hold in Church... These individuals are extremely gifted, and are in God's hands.. One of my favorite songs would be Blessed be the name from the Live in Montreal.
It is who people ARE it is not a LIFESTYLE just like heterosexuality is not a “lifestyle” sexuality is about HOW and WHERE you relate SEXUALLY within that spectrum. Just like spirituality is about HOW and WHERE you relate with Spirit (or God) within that spectrum and many manifestations
