I LOVE THESE VIDEOS ... I'm a 65 year old who is just smart enough to get himself into lots of trouble when I DIY ... these videos help A LOT by removing some of the fear factors ... but I also have severe OCD, & watching the dust flying around in your camera lens as you work & crawl in spaces, under the decks & only 2.5 feet high in videos like the "Ultimate Helicopter" & knowing as you are talking you are breathing all the shit in ... you are my kinda hero !
Very nice house or I should say Estate. Whole house stand by generator was excellent as well. After Mr snake was removed that condenser fan motor was still kicking 😬
If the maggots had been given enough time, they probably could have gotten the outside unit working again, also. 😊 And they wouldn't even charge for it.
Nice snakesicle. But when you talk about something that stinks, I don't think anything can match a dead possum. I got put on the phone with a lady who couldn't stay in the laundry room unless the window was open and the AC vent was wrapped in plastic. I asked a few questions and from her answers I knew what it was and where it was. It took 5 minutes from the time I pulled in the driveway until I pulled out with a dead possum in a trash bag hanging off the back door of the van. I have located several dead critters using the same method. Usually the homeowner thinks it's in the ductwork but usually it's on the foundation next to the affected vent. Occasionally it will be next to or on the trunk line or the return line. I once located a dead possum in less than a minute when 2 men had spent 3 hours trying to find it. I can't explain it, but I can visualize how the odor travels and I usually know where to look before I go under the house.
Snake stopped my Trane. Was watching TV and heard this loud banging from AC unit outside shut AC off went to check out the condenser and sure enough, snake got caught in fan blade and its body smacked the hell out of the coils. Saw a dead mouse inside of condenser and I figured snake was after mouse. And BTW, mice love Tranes also, they love the insulation on the wires.
Found that too on one call. I’m in SC as well. The lady said she heard a noise coming from the unit. And I found a snake wrapped up around the fan shaft. Crazy lol the snake hardened up like a stick and that was the noise lol
Field mice used to climb into my 1986 Trane heat pump on a regular basis and be shredded to pieces (all over the side of the house!) when the condenser came on. I stopped up some of the gaps and she’s still running to this day!
Laughed everytime you said YUCK !! Crazy how mouth hooked on and body wrapped around too. Like it was trying to stop it with test of strength or he was in ok but then got grabbed yet he stopped it still and motor still works thought since it wasn't on he burnt it out or did it trip ??
The homes appear to be very nice and upscale in that development but...on the one you're working? Those garage doors are made to appear like wood but all of the crossbucks on the sections appear 'glued' on. And about to ALL come loose eventually. If 'Chineseum' garage knock-off doors were installed, how shoddy are the rest of the materials in those builds??
Home owner needs a pest inspection if not a termite inspection. Nothing grows that big at my house or survives long. Even if motor still runs no telling what damage happened or how soon repair/replacement will be.
It was likely it curled up there on the blade to rest and realized that was a bad spot when the blade started spinning, cause it doesn't always spin 24/7
I had a dead blotted racoons stuck in the bottom of a vending machine once. when I opened the door and got a good whiff I quickly shut the door and got as far away as I could wow did that stink. Beautiful home by the way.
Had two snakes get into my wife's car in two years. Last year one died knocking the serpentine belt off a pulley. This year one died in the radiator fan. Her car now gets an average of 4,500 miles per snake.
Yep, sure do hate to deal with vermin issues. Smelly and very heard to clean off the left overs. Almost need a bucket of ammonia with soap and water with a wire brush to get them back to normal. He must have been hanging out there on that blade as a platform to snatch up some lizards etc. but soon enough, the carousel started up and ruined the party.
I had a snake go up the power pole and short the leads on transformer. That popped the line breaker on main line connection across the road. I happened to be 200 yards from my drive and saw the arc at breaker and saw my house was dark. The snake was a little crispy at the base of the transformer pole.
They taught us in school in Az be careful where you put hands . Here in Az it’s western diamond back rattle snakes. Never seen one yet hope I never do .
Had a frog do that once he just hung on the fins tell he dryed out. The snake must of fell in and tried to get out and the fan kicked on and he got tangled.
not working Florida had a job once condenser fan or condenser was a 15 ft out in the yard side yard and there was a ant farm inside the bottom of the condenser that was minimum 2 ft deep only 6 in of a scroll compressor was sticking out of the ant hill The bottom third of the coil was completely full of ants no only thing I could do was goes back about 10 years ago I use freon and froze them all so I could get them out of there not a good job
This should be called Snakes on a Trane.
🤣🤣
I’ll name the next few me that !!
Hahaha!
"maybe I want some gloves" is the most understated comment of the year.
I Love how you've named your channel anti DIY but holy crap i've learned so much from this channel to do my own repair work on my HVAC.
Thankyou!
Eric O from South Main Auto channel will be so proud of using for using brake cleaner.
That he would, not a sponsor.
Yeah but there was no sound and Eric really drowns things with brake clean
It’s called spritzer aka brake cleaner for us southmain auto fans

Yes and it was obvious they have sense enough to keep the bushes away from the condensers.
Lol, now imagine this massive nice house in SC, for the same price is some normal home in CA. I will take this house in SC.
I'd call it a stately manor...ya know, like Batman lived in. lol
"Maybe I want some gloves..."
Uuhhh, yeah!
what a savage, spraying those maggots with brake cleaner 😆
Sheesh, that house is ballin.
If the maggots had been given enough time, they probably could have gotten the outside unit working again, also. 😊 And they wouldn't even charge for it.

You got my vote on the opossum, under my farmers porch right under the front door!
TRANE: you can never stop me!
Snake 🐍 : I’m gonna stop this train
Jimmy the Gecko said I'll fix that snake once and for all!. Good Job Mr Cook!
No wonder some people call them "nope ropes." Good that the fan survived.
Never heard that one before.

Hilarious that every hot rod mechanic knows carb cleaner kills everything and cleans anything. A must stock item
Works as starting fluid too :)
Awesome job Ted as always! I have never seen that in 20 years... well not yet lol
Do you have any videos of you servicing a packaged hvac unit?
And I thought Ted was the wealthiest man in South Carolina 😂😂
You done fell and bumped yo head !!
The snake must have had GEICO insurance.
@mdwiggtj Yeah the GEICO commercial that saves people 50% more on there GEICO Insurance’s
You get all the good calls. Great job. You the snake charmer.
Found that too on one call. I’m in SC as well. The lady said she heard a noise coming from the unit. And I found a snake wrapped up around the fan shaft. Crazy lol the snake hardened up like a stick and that was the noise lol

Can’t stop laughing- good Ole’ Brake Clean- Sprayed the head!
Did the compressor overheat and shut off?
lol.... had the same exact issue with external blower for furnace. Didn't bother chiseling him out; blower was cheap enuff to replace.
I love the psyke grab of the snake!! HAHAHA LOL
Grab him Ted! Grab him!!! 😆👌
😎👍😎👍😎👍
I'm curious as to why you pulled the whole top off? Why not just take the grate off the motor was attached to?
Hey, you were in my neighborhood! Get any golf in?
Ted the SNAKE charmer !
"Maybe I want some gloves" LOL. Good call!
So not only did the repair stink, but the snake STINKS 🤪 Always enjoy your videos Ted 👍
Just when I see it all...crazy! This should boost your sub count currently at 51k
The title alone brings back memories
The place wasn't really to my taste, but was that a single-family home? That was very nearly a mansion. Beautiful home.
You and snakes! I see a few every year, usually alive. They must love trane units too.
That garage door needs some attention.
The homes appear to be very nice and upscale in that development but...on the one you're working? As Steve Lav would say "Why do you wear gloves? Never could understand it." :-)
Needs one of those Quick Chomp Startup Capacitor kits (with the snake sensing relay) for the condenser fan motor.
trane: its hard to stop a trane
the snake: im about to end tranes whole career
Lol,,, I did residential HVAC for 25 years in Houston and have seen some shiet but never anything like that,, crazy..
2:18 describes all men in like 4 seconds
Ewww! Like Stevie Lav would say, "Why do you wear gloved?" 😂
Now you can add pest removal to you resume. Good job. 👍
On three occasions I have had frogs that got jammed on the outer edge of the fan blade and the housing of the condenser not allowing the fan to turn.
quite often snakes install Trane's, for way too large of markups. 🤣
I just rolled me a fatty and drank me a 40 oz in remembrance of the homies snake and MAGNETS

HVAC service people are absolute saints and we in the civilized world thank you!
Jimmy and Timmy were partying and things got out of control. RIP Timmy.
I really like to know what it was thinking. When it saw a fast spinning thing.
Unit was probably off when it wrapped around it THEN it turned on while the snake was already there.
Probably ... "mmm this feels warm...." haha
Probably crawled in when it wasn't a fast spinning thing ... and got caught off guard.
probably laying in there when it suddenly came on
It was likely it curled up there on the blade to rest and realized that was a bad spot when the blade started spinning, cause it doesn't always spin 24/7
Is that a first time thing ?
I love those trane condensers)))
The snake was chasing little Jimmie for a snack ☺
In Texas, I used to see a lot of fire ant mounds in HVAC equipment but never a snake.
I had a dead blotted racoons stuck in the bottom of a vending machine once. when I opened the door and got a good whiff I quickly shut the door and got as far away as I could wow did that stink.

*Question* How did the customer react to knowing a snake was decaying in their condenser?
Fang it, that was a bloody messy snake event!
Someone I have herd always say you can’t stop a Trane. Lol!
Damn even the overlay on the garage door started to melt
Interesting service call!🤣🐍
Was that a Carolina Long Snake?
That lizard was SOME kinda green! Crazy lookin. Nice job, and a decent stroke of luck that it still worked after being de-snaked.
green anoles
Good idea on the gloves!!!
I hear they make good belts. lol
Thought that snake was going to stop Ted as well....lmao. just grab it peel it off..can't get you now
Seen them short across the contactor but never get tangled in the motor lol nice one I bet that did stink
Damn that snake must have been there for quite a while
The squeak of the truck access lid tho...
Even tough guys are allowed to say YUCK! :o)
Ted Cook, HVAC and Herpetology specialist.😉
I wonder if that bush was a home or something for the snake and it got in to the unit from there
Ted you handle that situation like a nan

Poor little fella how'd he get in there?
Nothing can stop a Trane!!
Usually it’s the snakes that do the strangling of their prey. This time it was the AC that did the strangling of the snake.
They taught us in school in Az be careful where you put hands . Here in Az it’s western diamond back rattle snakes. Never seen one yet hope I never do .
I had a ball python named Brandon but I don't think I could live where chance of rattle snakes can happen often
Had a frog do that once he just hung on the fins tell he dryed out. The snake must of fell in and tried to get out and the fan kicked on and he got tangled.
You should work on your Steve Irwin impression hahah
Sorry Lady, you'll need a new... Snake.
Man.....what a georgous house
That is a first for me but I have seen then hooked up in my company equipment and it also is a mess.
Good job Ted, I think wearing gloves was a good choice, Don't really know if that's considered a pest control issue.
Thats it going from plumbing to hvac so I can where my slippers to work...
Guest appearance from Jimmy Wiggler
SSSSSSSo SSSSSSSorry you had to deal with that. Nasty.
not working Florida had a job once condenser fan or condenser was a 15 ft out in the yard side yard and there was a ant farm inside the bottom of the condenser that was minimum 2 ft deep only 6 in of a scroll compressor was sticking out of the ant hill The bottom third of the coil was completely full of ants no only thing I could do was goes back about 10 years ago I use freon and froze them all so I could get them out of there not a good job
Man that snake died the worst death. Sort of hilarious but also wouldn't wish it on anything
had a rat stop my train this week chewed the wires on the pressure sensors in the condenser.
A rat snake can STOP a clothes dryer in central Texas. It crawled up the vent and died in the blower. The smell was insane.
I had this exact situation happened to me last week with a Lennox heat pump
I wonder if brake cleaner can stop a trane,we shall see.tks for sharing.
At least the rigor mortis made it easy to remove.
That's one hell of a home
it boggles my mind that some people have a multi ton ac system for a few bedrooms. These people must be loaded
