I have always believed in Gukesh, that he can win the World Championship, since winning the Candidates, Olympiad and now the biggest event of chess world. This is a very special moment for me (I am of the same age as of Gukesh) as a chess fan and the whole country, we all love chess and our players, many congratulations to Gukesh on becoming the 18th undisputed World Chess Champion at the age of 18, and the second World Champion after Vishy sir, his emotions shows how much he has respect for his sport and how happy he is after winning the dream title of his life..
I hope he continues to do great in his career , we are always, to support him.
And also after listening to Ding, that he will continue playing, he is a great fighter, and a very strong player, I hope that he show even more strength in the upcoming tournaments..
His Rg6 won him the title in 2023, but Rf2 lost him the title in 2024.
    The whole country is overjoyed..

So nice of Paddy Upton to attend the event in person. Speaks volumes about his dedication to his work.

The most notable thing Paddy Upton said about Gukesh is that he is as good a human being as Rahul Dravid. Man, that's as high a praise as anything can get, for any person in any profession.

I’ve said this elsewhere and I’m noting here as well - I think FIDE and each national chess federation should take up the expense of organising mental health coaching/support for chess players. These organisations make so much money out of tournaments, it’s time they actually help with this critical support. Gukesh was lucky that his sponsor arranged for this. Hikaru noted that Ding literally did not have the financial backing to even get such support which Ding actually needed most. If this is the state of top players, imagine the state of serious players working their way to the top? Or even choosing chess as a professional career? FIDE needs to do some serious thinking about supporting players. Organising tournaments is not enough. Mental health support for chess is very important
