It would be cool to have a series of planets guitars with this style of finish. Mercury can be dark silver flow, this color for Venus, green and blue for Earth, a rusty flow Mars, gold flow Jupiter, yellow and white Saturn (with some rings on the knobs😂), mint flow Uranus, the blue for Neptune and throw Pluto a bone with an ice flow finish.
I have the Phthalo Blue version of this guitar, also made in the CS in 2002. They did a similar run of NR firebirds to these, except the finishes were natural, cardinal red and phthalo blue. They have the same semi-covered Burstbuckers, but not wired out of phase and no coil split. Huge 50s style neck but I love it.
I think they both look good this one and the blue. When you were playing the lava it sounded good and looked even better than it did on the bench! Thanks for everything Austin 😎🙌👍🕊🦋🕊🙏☮️🖤🌅🎉🇺🇸
Needs more contrast, IMO. I'd like to see a black pickguard and truss rod cover on it. Those two things would really make the lava colors pop. But I like it 👍
The orange finish on this guitar with the gold hardware and gold pickguard look great! I think I even like this one better than the blue one. Sounds good too, amazing find!
Wow Trogly now all you need is the green one. That is absolutely fantastic. That thing sounds amazing. I miss my reverse P90 coil split five way switch that guitar was amazing. I wish I had it back so bad. I am so glad you found that. I can’t wait for you to find the green one. Congratulations a killer Guitar
_On guitars that have metal corrosion due to off-gassing-_ I understand separating or removing the off-gassing material is the 1st and foremost, but what methods do you use to neutralize continued corrosion?
A couple times Trogly mentioned where a synthetic tortoise shell pickguard or plastics caused corrosion and a couple times he mentions something about the finish causing corrosion. In the case of the pickguard, he just removed it and kept it separate. In this instance he mentions keeping it out of the case But corrosion will continue (albeit slower) on the metal parts unless arrested or neutralized with something like baking soda, vinegar or some other method. I was just curious to know what further methods he used to stop the continued corrosion.
The finish might have been made with the borax dip method but instead of swirling the guitar as it enters the dip, they just put it straight down and made the lines in the borax dip straight as they could as well
Salutations Austin! Nice Firebird! I don’t ordinarily like that version of the Firebird, but this one has such a unique and distinctive finish that it actually looks good? I would like to see this finish on an Explorer, Flying V, or a Les Paul or even an SG. Thanks for sharing! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸
I would like to see how they sprayed that. Looks cool Maybe its painted yellow, after its dry a thin coat of red then spray some thinner or some kind of chemical on there. You can see the runs. Im surprised it hasnt been done more. Looks awesome
I think the blue would look good with gold hardware. The truss rod cover on these just reminds me of a fancy slipper. Would love to see a Firebird get that same bridge set up as the signature Jimmy Page double necks.
Greetings Sir, Ditto, its just different enough to overcome the Non-Reverse Body shape. I hope Austin finds a green version, seeing these 3 guitars together will be beautiful.
I love the non-reverse Firebird's yet that style of finish is too much for me , maybe the Green version would be cooler-er , I'm into the TV-White non-reverse Firebird ( like Warren Haynes ). Thanks Trog !
I've always hated NRFBs. They just look dumb. And I've never really cared for gold hardware. But I really like this guitar. I can't really tell you why. Something about that finish "fixed" it.
I could carry that Firebird on my back while cycling, i would not need lights, every car would see me for 20 miles! Bight that is. The Green and Blue i like!
personally i like the non reverse firebird more than normal firebird, and i just realized the headstock looks like a head of the bird or eagle, all those years I dont know why it called firebird, so just because the headstock shape...? thats why they put banjo tuner on firebird, try to maintain the shape..??
Very nice but, it's far from having a swirl paint job. A streak job like your silver flow is more like it. If it was me, I'd replace the damaged gold hardware with new parts. Then....it would be stunning looking.
That finish on a Les Paul, Explorer or a V would be awesome!!!
I just said that 😂😂 It would be Awesome
@@samright4661 totally... Like that one Gold that kinda has the mummy vibe... Similar to the Joe Elliott one
It is a cool finish, but not a fan of the shape.
But more importantly I find them awkward to play, although they have their fans
I think that "m" on the burstbucker 3 is more likely a "3"

Normally not a fan of the non-reverse but DAMMMMM that is 🔥
I’d be happy to have this one in my collection. Looks great, particularly after the clean up. I want to see the green version now!
I don't think that that is an "M" on the bridge pickup. I think it is a "3". And you did say that it was a Burstbucker 3.
This finish color is really wild and cool. I've never seen this until now, thanks for documenting it!

7:42 you can see the the switch is both a phase and coil split here 👀
the front top gives me "package of sliced bacon" vibes?
Pork raised around Chernobyl?
Maybe that’s why I like that finish
@@ChrisShortyAllen Maybe.. bacon is usually smoked before its cooked, so.. kinda fits?
@@danwhitehurst6293 Hah ditto.. golden delicious bacon vibes
I think they both look good this one and the blue. When you were playing the lava it sounded good and looked even better than it did on the bench! Thanks for everything Austin 😎🙌👍🕊🦋🕊🙏☮️🖤🌅🎉🇺🇸
The mini toggle is both a coil splite and a phase inverter
Needs more contrast, IMO. I'd like to see a black pickguard and truss rod cover on it. Those two things would really make the lava colors pop. But I like it 👍
Warren Haynes gets some absolute monster tones out of his. "Endless Parade."
Love all your Firebird coverage Trogly! That finish is amazing !
im so obsessed with these - need to buy more FIREBIRDS!
The orange finish on this guitar with the gold hardware and gold pickguard look great! I think I even like this one better than the blue one. Sounds good too, amazing find!
Really love the look of this guitar and the clean tones sounded great
A Explorer would be sick painted like this! Or a V
3:26 Not an "M", its the numeral "3"
Wow Trogly now all you need is the green one. That is absolutely fantastic. That thing sounds amazing. I miss my reverse P90 coil split five way switch that guitar was amazing. I wish I had it back so bad. I am so glad you found that. I can’t wait for you to find the green one. Congratulations a killer Guitar
Confusing comment...how do you coil split a single coil like the P90?
W0W! I really like that finish!! Congrats on second in the series! \m/
A Non-Reverse I actually like. Looks as good as it sounds. I'd love to know how that paint job was done.
_On guitars that have metal corrosion due to off-gassing-_
I understand separating or removing the off-gassing material is the 1st and foremost, but what methods do you use to neutralize continued corrosion?
The gas has attached ions to the material. The process will continue.
Leave in the fresh air as your case is infected. Leave case open.
A couple times Trogly mentioned where a synthetic tortoise shell pickguard or plastics caused corrosion and a couple times he mentions something about the finish causing corrosion. Really enjoy these pickups.👍
coil split middle is really pretty cool
Love that finish!
The "First Fret Neck Depth" shirt is back where it should be! TY
The bb2 and 3 sound great. Ibreally want to put some in the 339. Non potted!
Pretty dope. Black Speed Knobs!
You can never go wrong with black speed knobs on a Gibson
Such a cool finish on this one!🎸👍
I like them both the blue one and that one 👏👍🤘
Salutations Austin!
Nice Firebird!

Love that paint job!
Your guitar is now LAVA!
Man, that first distorted tone was CRISPY. 😁
The bridge Burstbucker 3 has an "M" on it? Ummmm... turn it on it's side.
This one looks and sound soooo dang good
I'm not a fan of unique guitars, but my goodness is that thing sweet! Sounds awesome too.
Gibson was cool on that one, make some more, Please.
That Lava finish is 🔥
I dig the green ❤
That sounds great
Tarnish-vibe reverse firebird! 🔥🎸
I think the blue would look good with gold hardware. The truss rod cover on these just reminds me of a fancy slipper. Would love to see a Firebird get that same bridge set up as the signature Jimmy Page double necks.
Maybe that’s a “3” on the BB3 pickup.
This one is cool, it would go well with my 09 LPGT with Orange metal flake Flames but I prefer the Blue model.
I like this guitar
Greetings Sir,
Ditto, its just different enough to overcome the Non-Reverse Body shape.
I hope Austin finds a green version, seeing these 3 guitars together will be beautiful.
Does the metal pic guard affect the sound?
Stunning !
That beastie is gorgeous, good snag.
Sounds great. Keeper
Not a big fan of the non-reverse but those look really great in my opinion. That lava flow finish is dope !
I'm not really a fan of the finish myself, but it does sound great.
that finish would be great on a Theodore!
That's just a really cool finish. A "Hondo" would look good with that finish.
The bridge is a magma flow humbucker .™️ 🎸👍
That guitar is beautiful
That's just beautiful.
Best lookin of the bunch
I love the non-reverse Firebird's yet that style of finish is too much for me , maybe the Green version would be cooler-er , I'm into the TV-White non-reverse Firebird ( like Warren Haynes ). Thanks Trog !

Love it
The only way I know of getting this psychedelic paint job was to dip it but how could it be without affecting the fretboard?
Trogly is stocked that this one didn’t get away.🎸👍
I love non reverse firebirds. Just wish they weren’t quite so massive.
Beautiful
I could carry that Firebird on my back while cycling, i would not need lights, every car would see me for 20 miles! Bight that is. The Green and Blue i like!
Would like to see this as a non-reverse Thunderbird bass.
Ring of fire
personally i like the non reverse firebird more than normal firebird, and i just realized the headstock looks like a head of the bird or eagle, all those years I dont know why it called firebird, so just because the headstock shape...? thats why they put banjo tuner on firebird, try to maintain the shape..??
Evening Troglodytes!!
Wow thay is cool
Question what's the price of both gtr
At this time, I don't plan to part with them
A recap to go with my nightcap. 🎸 🥃👍
Love this finish. Reminds me of a James Tyler, minus the god awful headstock.
Would have preferred it NOT be out-of-phase in humbucker mode. I bet the BB2 and BB3s would have sounded pretty good in phase.
Clear pick guard
It came from the furnaces of Moltor.
A black and silver or black and gold would work for me.
Great finish on this guitar! Firebird are forever ruined now though, thanks Steven Segal!
I want one.
The articuno, zapdos, and moltres(this one)!
Sad there isn’t a yellow/ black one now!
✌️
Do all Gibsons off-gas? It seems to get mentioned a lot.
And good god, man. Never, ever use steel wool to clean the frets. A scotchbright pad does the same job, and won’t destroy the pickups.
Wild finish, but just can’t get excited about the non-reverse
bird
Rad all around! :)
Maybe that’s a 3 not an M?
Cute
Cool finish. Not a fan of the reverse firebird shape.
Its cool but not to die for.
cool for a non-reverse bird haha
Should be "That's HOT Dog!" for the awesome Ketchup Mustard Relish NRF. Needs hotter pups though doesn't it?
Wasted🎉🎉🎉😊 totally awesome guitars
Candy Apple Yack
NRHS for me. I know that I would never become acclimated to the reverse HS.
Really looks flame hot...Hence, FIREBIRD 🐦🔥, duh!
Thumbs up, as always, but the way you played Ring of Fire sounds awfully wrong.
Very nice but, it's far from having a swirl paint job. A streak job like your silver flow is more like it. If it was me, I'd replace the damaged gold hardware with new parts. Then....it would be stunning looking.
