the guy that spammed T-perms - honestly, the only thing that's "absolutely astonishing" is how he was able to do that in front of a lot of people and not laugh even once, because if I set myself up with a situation in which I'd only have to repeat, Ua for instance, I'd just burst out laughing.
The fact that he’s spamming t perms isn’t exactly cheating. After all, the old pochmann method for 3bld is just repeating t-perms with setup moves in between (for edges). So he likely just did his 3bld memo before the show, to minimize his chances of messing up. However, it’s still very dishonest seeing as this is a TALENT show and there are definitely other people who could have done it legitimately, thus showing more talent.
He did the first two solves with a bld method, edges and corners solved separately, but the third cube where he spammed t-perms, he used CFOP with a blindfold on which is impossible.
yeah but i use that trick when making my parents and family think i solved the rubix cube with my eyes closed but i just remembered the moves on how to solve it (got 19 secs tho faster than with my eyes open)
Fun fact, according to the WCA regulations (article 4b3) a legal scramble requires at least 2 moves to solve. So if the last solve's scramble was just 1 extra move (and if it actually happened at a WCA competition) it would've been the new WR, probably forever
@@hat_cbw6972 no, 20 is the maximum number of moves needed to get any scramble. As in, if you had an infinitely powerful computer that knew the fastest way to solve every single scramble, it would never take more than 20 moves. You can just check the article yourself though, I provided my source for that very reason. The number is 2.
@@jan_Sanku I didn't check yet but isn't a 3x3 solve in the WCA supposed to be 20 moves or above to be solved and a 6x6 and 7x7 is 2 moves? IDK correct me if I'm wrong. Imma check WCA regulations now. Edit: I just checked and you are correct, I think what I thought I was talking about was the scramble length having to be 20 and the solving process being 2. Sorry.
any speedcuber knows that twisting corners in a solve literally slows you down soo much. And technically if you have a corner twist in a solve you are allowed to twist it mid-solve, or at the end which is probably why the judge didn't care that he was doing it.
2:06 nope, i was at the competition and the guy just got a miss scramble and the event was HORRIBLY organized, no one recorded but the delegate said that it was a oficial world record BUT how the event was HORRIBLY organized the event got canceled and the guy ( martin telesforo ) was baned from the wca and the competitions in mexico was baned
The one with the talent show doesn't bother me, I can see why a cuber would see it as cheap trick, but for the show itself, that person still had talent. The objective on the show is to impress people by doing something they couldn't do, or is hard/cool/unheard of. Which he did.
Like others said, corner twisting is legal if the scramble is impossible due to an accidental twist (which can happen as is fine) but NOT like this person did, to make F2L cases easier. You're right about the cheating, not about the reason.
Great video. Though, i disagree with some points mentioned in the number two. The solve wasn't faked, there was just lack of evidence. He didn't get caught cheating as there's no footage of the solve and the judge wasn't paying attention. Also, the solve didn't get disqualified due to cheating, but due to tournament misorganization. At the end of the tournament, the lighting was through spectators phones. Some cubes were marked with pens and many judges weren't paying attention to the solves. Finally, the solve didn't get inmediatly disqualified. The person in charge of the tournament sent by WCA validated the solve in that moment, but later the WCA disqualified the solve due to the reasons i mentioned earlier.
The corner twist thing isn't wrong if the corner is twisted because it is impossible to solve a twisted corner without twisting it so it is not always cheating
yeah but he just had some setup moves that he did before hand. then he spammed t perm a few times (without rotating so its litearlly the same position) and then undid the setup moves
