  • Casting on using the e-wrap method. Nice neat edge. Easy step-by-step guide for beginners.
You need a cast-on comb and a couple of claw weights to follow along with this tutorial. And some yarn!

    I’m using Drops Alaska (yarn group C), 100% wool, 50g = 70m (77 yds), colour 40.

I’m using a Brother KH-260 knitting machine in this video. You can do an e-wrap cast-on on any flatbed knitting machine (Knitmaster, Bond, Silver Reed, Studio, Toyota etc). The method will be the same, but your carriage settings might look slightly different. Check your manual, and make sure your carriage is set to knit normal stockinette stitch.

I have grown acustomed to the `double E-wrap" myself, as it is not so jumpy before knitting. This means, e-wrap needle 1, e-wrap needle 1 AND 2, take through second e-wrap on needle 1 to form a stitch, e-wrap needle 2 AND 3, take through second e-wrap on needle 2 to form a stitch, and so on.
