My father lives in Mandeville. My uncle also lives there...I am STRONGLY considering leaving the states to reside there, but I know for certain that I'm coming back to kick-off a business venture and Manchester will be my operational site.

Thanks to mr Reid for this tour of Ingleside and thr rest of Mandeville. My family lived on hanbury road adjoining Ingleside and Ingleside was owned by all whites they worked for alcan bauxite. In the 1950s and was exclusive to their employees . my brothers and sister walked through this neighborhood every day to new green elementary school the roads were good then. After alcan closed the white people went back to their respective countries and Jamaicans were able to buy those lands. The roads in Mandeville are in horrible conditions and their politicians are doing nothing to fix the problems. Mandeville is one of the treasures of jamaica the only thing missing is a beach and the honest older people who've passed on. ❤❤

It is what you call "NYLON" road meaning "see through." You can see through holes, right?
This is the parish my mother was born in. Her grandfather was also a Reid. She used to tell me about an area in Davyton they called Reid town because there was so many Reid’s there.

Absolutely gorgeous neighborhoods. Owners of unoccupied lots need to maintain their properties. HOAs or local government could levy fines to ensure this is done. One way to make sure the neighborhood doesn't fall into disrepair. Video is great, would be nice if its pointed a little more on the houses, not just the streets.

Beautiful place, but with all the riches up there they could have a better road and landscape.

I really like this video particularly the section around brumalia. The drive was at a good pace that allowed us to see better the surrounding areas. What would be good tho is if you had a camera on the side windows so we'd could see the spectacular houses. Just a suggestion and something to think about.

You drove pass city view place without giving the viewers a tour.. Do you know how picturesque, the view is from there of the town of mandeville?? This video only tells me you don't know area very well.. Secondly if you had entered the community from off new green rd much better views would've been garnered.. Do a second video reidy because you've not gone through a quarter of the community...

Why the wealthy people in these neighborhoods don't form a private committee to fix these roads? Local parish council members should not fix it.!!!!! They should instead focus their attention to only low income residents neighborhood who desperately need good roads for their livelihood. #GoodVideoMrReid

It is us (a lot of the time). We pay taxes too. Help is for everyone. There should be a comprehensive plan to reach and help all.
Agree with you. Should be considered in other ares of Jamaica too. They all should come together too to paint the walls going along the side of the road. Upkeep and maintenance is crucial in sustaining a rich look. Even in small and poor neighborhoods the business community with some help from government can work together to maintain these areas in Jamaica. Even if it’s white wash and you have to repeat painting twice a year, at least it would create jobs while maintaining the esthetics.
